Carly: [Gasps] Oh, my God! Shawn: Easy, easy, it's just me. Carly: What are you doing?! Shawn: The door was standing open and I was concerned. Carly: Do you just casually walk into people's houses to scare the hell out of them?! Shawn: Do you always shower with the door standing wide open? Carly: No, I went outside to get the paper, my phone rang, I came--why am I explaining this to you? What are you doing here? Shawn: [Chuckles] Just give me a second. [Carly sighs] Shawn: These were by a way of an apology for scaring you outside of Kelly's last night. Carly: You mean by following me? Shawn: I have no idea how I'll make up for that. Carly: How about an explanation? An explanation. What are you doing? And why do you look like hell? Shawn: No, I don't. Carly: Yes, you do. You're usually perfectly pressed. It must be the military thing in you. Shawn: Ok, ok, I've looked better. Carly: What's going on? Is someone after you? Shawn: Not at the moment. I'm not sure you can say the same. Carly: Ok, I know you're worried about the whole Jax thing, but Jax is not going to do anything. Shawn: And so far he hasn't. I spent the night in my car across the street, just in case. Carly: Ok. That's really nice of you. Your muffins are really nice. Giving a damn is really nice. But this has to stop.
Carly: Josslyn and I are fine. Shawn: I happen to think the situation with Jax is more serious than you realize. Carly: Ok, even if you're right, you haven't been paid for this. Shawn: It's not about the money. Carly: Of course it is. You have to make a living. I mean, what happened with your job interview? Shawn: I went to DC. Look, I-- Carly: And? Shawn: I did the interview. Carly: I'm asking if you got the job. Shawn: This is not about me. You have to be more careful. You can't leave doors standing open. Carly: Ok, if I promise to keep my door shut from now on, are you going to tell me if you got the job? Shawn: It's a large house. It's easy for intruders to hide. Carly: You're not going to tell me, really? I mean, getting any kind of personal information from you is like pulling teeth. Shawn: I'm not somebody who's going to open a vein every time I'm in the room. Carly: Ahh, I've never known that about you. Shawn: Look, I have to stay focused on the task at hand. That's keeping you and Josslyn safe. Carly: Come on, Shawn, you haven't been paid for that in month-- [Josslyn crying] Carly: Great, she's awake. Shawn: Where's Mercedes? Carly: She has the morning off. I was supposed to stay home with her. And I forgot about this huge thing going on at the hotel. I've barely had time to take a shower. Shawn: You go get dressed and I'll take care of Josslyn. Carly: You will? [Josslyn crying]
Shawn: So you like that? Yeah? Yeah, blueberries are popular, but I'm partial to coffee muffin cakes myself. [Chuckles] What? Should we save some for Rufus? Yeah, he looks pretty hungry, doesn't he? Well, Rufus doesn't deserve it. Carly: Josslyn and I have been taking swimming lessons. She keeps wanting to bring Rufus into the pool with us, don't you? Shawn: Yeah, I don't think Rufus is a water dog. He's much happier here at the house. He's more like a baby crib house type dog. [Chuckles] Isn't that right? Josslyn: Mommy! Carly: Yeah, hi. You're really good with her. Shawn: Well, she is my favorite client, bar none. And don't you sound so surprised by it. Carly: Sorry. Shawn: It'll cost you a coffee cake. Carly: Well, you're not being paid to guard us or baby-sit her. I can't keep letting you do this. Shawn: Yeah? And what if I'm more like you and don't take no for an answer? Carly: Is that some kind of throw down? Shawn: Ha ha. What do you think? You don't want me to go, do you? [Carly laughs]
Carly: Ok, don't get me wrong. It's not that I don't appreciate your help. It's just, you can't give up your life indefinitely. Shawn: You made it real clear that you're not asking me for anything. That doesn't mean I can't look out for you on my own time. Carly: Did you get the job or not? Shawn: I got an offer. Carly: Ohh! Shawn: But I'm not going to take it. Carly: Why? I mean, it's Washington, D.C. I'm sure they're going to pay you tons of money to do private security for some political type. How fun! Shawn: It's not that kind of job. Carly: Oh! Well, what is it? What are you guarding? Shawn: [Chuckles] I got offered a position teaching science at a D.C.-Area middle school, ok? Carly: Teaching? Shawn: Yeah. I did other things before I picked up a gun. Carly: Wow! I was great in science. Until I dropped out of nursing school. But that wasn't because I was a bad student. I was very smart. I just had a train wreck of a life. I had great grades and everything. You must have had great grades. Shawn: I enjoyed science, and school. Carly: You must have gone to college. Shawn: I must have. Carly: Wow, you're not going to tell me anything. I bet there are so many things about your past that would surprise me. Shawn: And since I know how much you hate surprises... [Chuckles]
Carly: How did you go from being a science teacher to being a marine? Shawn: Have you heard from Jax? Carly: No, he'll call when he's ready. Shawn: That doesn't seem strange to you, he hasn't made more of an effort to stay in contact with his only daughter? Carly: You'd be a really good teacher. I mean, especially for boys. Boys need role models. Michael certainly did. Shawn: I didn't take the job-- Carly: You know, Michael got into PCU. He doesn't want to go. He just wants to follow in Sonny's footsteps. Shawn: That's pretty normal for a boy to want to take after his father. Especially when that father is a powerful man. Carly: It would have been great for Michael to have a mentor like you. It really would have. You had a whole life before you joined the military. You were a science teacher. You were able to impact children's lives before they decided to go down the wrong path. Shawn: Yeah. I would love to save every kid. But it's not possible. I have to stay focused on the child I can protect. Carly: Like Josslyn, huh? Shawn: You know, call it instincts, call it whatever you want. But Jax isn't letting this go. Carly: You know, Jax knows if he stuck around and wanted to fight, then it would only hurt Josslyn. He's not going to do anything to upset his daughter. Shawn: You're putting a lot of confidence into a man who feels he has every reason to hate you. Carly: You know what you can do for me? Shawn: You're not going to ask me to stand guard, are you? Carly: You can take the job in D.C. Shawn: Really? Carly: That would make you happy. And that would make me happy. Shawn: Hmm.
Carly: You say thank you to Shawn for bringing us muffins and taking such good care of us? Shawn: You're welcome. And I'm counting on Rufus to protect you both. You know that, right? Carly: He will, don't you worry. Shawn: If you need anything... Carly: We'll be fine. Right, Josslyn? We'll be fine. Go. Go live your life. Shawn: Well, I guess I don't have a choice, do I? You take care. Carly: You, too. Hey, thank you. I mean, really, thank you for everything. Shawn: No problem. Take care.
[Jax sighs]

Carly: I saw your name on the reservation list, so we're all ready for you. Matt: Thank you. Maxie: I thought this was spur of the moment. Matt: Yeah, well, I keep standing reservations all over town in the hopes of getting lucky. To score some alone time with you of course. You look awesome, by the way. Carly: Thank you. I'm hosting a fundraiser for the Skipper School. They raise money for Special Ed scholastics. Tonight kicks off a whole week of competition sailing. Maxie: That's right, Kate was ready to do a huge spread on Jax's sailboat, but...never mind. I'm sorry. Carly: That's ok. Jax is gone, that's the reality. Ready to start a new chapter in my life. Matt: Yeah, for all of us. Carly: Great. Enjoy your evening. Matt: Thanks. Maxie: Wow. She's holding up this evening all things considered. I can't believe Jax bailed. Matt: Bail being a relative term, right? I mean, drug possession. You saw the headlines, right? He attacked a representative of the court in his own custody case. Maxie: It seemed like a set-up to me. But Carly's done worse. Matt: Yeah, well, maybe in that case, it's good that he is disappearing, at least for a little while. And speaking of disappearing, I was a little worried about you. Maxie: Oh, really? Matt: Yeah. Maxie: You could have fooled me. Matt: I called you. Once. And I left you a message. Maxie: Mmm. One call, one message. That doesn't exactly scream worried to me. Matt: It's like downright hysterical for me. Ok, I am glad that you're ok. And I promise you that I will next time call you twice and perhaps even leave you two messages. Maxie: I think that we just shouldn't have a next time. All right, enough of this. So what's e surprise? I know that there is a surprise. And you could not tell me, but then I'll just keep bugging you about it, and, yeah, I could see this ruining our whole night. Matt: You know, I kind of like the fact that you don't know everything about me, 'cause you are all about the mystery, right? Maxie: Ok. If this is another reference to me working with Spinelli, I can't keep apologizing for getting stuck in a sewer when I was looking for an engagement ring that I lost, and I was just trying to bring Spinelli back to his senses. Matt: My little multi-tasker. Maxie: I am sorry if you felt like I was neglecting you. It wasn't intentional. Matt: No, I know. I know you're just looking out for a friend. And that friend might need some looking out after right now, actually.
Carly: Thank you for much for coming out tonight. Olivia: Oh, it was no problem. It's a great cause. And as my aunt Theresa used to say, don't get it dirty, you're gonna have to take it back tomorrow. Carly: Oh, thank you. You look great, too. Olivia: Thanks. So, how you been doing? Really. Carly: You know, this cause was close to Jax's heart. I shouldn't bail just because of what happened, and it is important. Olivia: But I asked how are you? Carly: Jax loves kids. I know how bad he wanted to have a child, he loves Josslyn. I hate the way things turned out. I really do. Olivia: How are you? Carly: I'm sad. I'm sad. I can't believe we couldn't figure out a way to keep Jax in Josslyn’s life. Olivia: Who's to say you still can't find a way?
Carly: You're back. Sonny: I'm back. Carly: You're here. Sonny: I'm here. Carly:' You're tense. Sonny: Tense? Yeah, tense times. Carly: Did you go after Brenda? Sonny: It's done. All done. Carly: Is it my fault? Sonny: We both know whose fault it is.
Sonny: I just wanted you to know I don't blame you for Brenda leaving with Jax. You know, I protected your child, she didn't like it. You gave Jax every opportunity to do the right thing. He didn't do it. What did he want? He wanted you to cut me out of your life. Carly: I couldn't do that. I don't even know how to do that. Sonny: Because you understand me. Carly: Well, sometimes. Sonny: I mean, because, you know, we have children and the whole thing, right. Carly: Because of a lot of reasons. Sonny: I hope now that you understand why I had to do what I had to do. I know you don't approve of the method, but I wasn't gonna let him use his money and connections to take Josslyn away from you. Ok? ‘Cause all you'd be then is, you know, a mother visiting her daughter. Carly: I don't know if I could ever thank you enough for making sure I could keep Josslyn. Sonny: You know, I wish there were more people who understood the situation and knew me better. Carly: Sounds like you're talking about someone in particular. Sonny: Robin came by. I was airing Brenda out of my room. Carly: Let me guess which side she picked. Sonny: Ok, you know, Brenda and Robin are good friends for a long time. And for whatever reason, I think she felt it was ok for Jax to bribe the mediator, but when it came to, you know, what I did, she was pretty clear on which side she took. Carly: I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. Sonny: No, you know what, I'm done. I'm done. I'm done apologizing for my life, apologizing for the things that I do. I can't-- Carly: You don't look done. You don't look done. Sonny: What do I look like? What? Carly: You look like you're at war. I don't know if it's with your past or someone here. Sonny: Sometimes war is not over. Carly: Well, you need to let it be over. Sonny. You're the one who's gonna get hurt.
Sonny: I can take care of myself. Carly: And I can argue that a dozen different ways. But I can’t. I can't. I have to get home to Josslyn 'cause I promised I would tuck her in. It's a habit I'm trying to make no matter how busy I am. Sonny: Those are good habits. Carly: I'm sorry. I'm sorry that Robin was such a lousy friend to you when you needed her the most. Can't say I'm surprised, though. She hates me. And anything you do to help me is going to be bad in her mind, even if it's stopping Jax from taking my daughter. Sonny: She bought into Jax's noble act like everybody else can do. Alexis, Brenda. But you and I are different 'cause we know the truth. I did what had to be done, and I would do it again. And if he pushes me again, I will push that-- Carly: Stop. Stop. Hey, he's gone. It's over. Sonny: He's gone, but he could come back. And if he threatens you again, that's the last mistake he's gonna make. And I hope he's not stupid enough to cross my path.
Jax: I know it's a lousy connection. Can you hear me? Yeah, I need the jet fueled and ready to go right away. And I'm gonna have one more passenger. Hello? Hello?

August 5, 2011 Carly: You know, Mommy has to work tonight, but I wanted to be here to tuck you in. Josslyn: Pig. Carly: Yeah, pig. There's been a lot of changes for you lately. The one thing that will never change is how much I love you. Yeah, that's a duck. You, Michael, and Morgan are the most important people in my life. I don't know what I'd do without you. Jax: Can you hear me now? Yes, I know the wind is picking up. Just have the plane ready to go. I'm gonna be there soon. Just have it ready to go right away. Carly: Ok, I need you to be a good girl for Mercedes, ok? You go right to bed, and when you wake up--yeah--I'm gonna be here and we're gonna spend the whole day--you, me, and Rufus. Oh, gosh. Look at that, huh? I think Rufus likes the park better than we do. What did you do to him? Look at this poor guy. His ear, his leg, he's got an eye missing. Mm-hmm. It looks like Rufus has had a rough life. That seems to be going around, huh? Josslyn: Take this. Carly: Yeah. Thank you. Carly: Josslyn's all tucked in. Uh, she's fighting sleep. Mercedes: She took a late nap. Carly: She misses Jax. Putting her to bed, reading her books. You know, it's just not the same without him. I wish I didn't have to go at all. Mercedes: Hey, what's wrong? Carly: Nothing and everything. I have adjustments to make and I just have to make them. Call me if you need anything. Carly: What are you doing in my hotel? Skye: Jax sent me an invitation to the fundraiser he's hosting, and I happened to be in town tying up some loose ends with Lorenzo's estate and I thought, what a great chance to support an old dear, sweet, kind, handsome friend. Carly: If this is supposed to upset me, it's not. Skye: Well, it shouldn't bother you at all, because Jax has found so many times that he could support me. Carly: Jax isn't hosting this fundraiser. I am. Skye: Even better. With that off his plate, Jax will have more time with me to catch up. Carly: Well, good luck finding him, because Jax took off without telling anybody when or if he planned on coming back. Skye: That's funny. I saw Jax down by the water not 20 minutes ago. Jason: Hey. Sam: Hi. Jason: It looks like the storm's staying over the hill. Unless something changes, it should miss us. Sam: Oh, well, I wouldn't actually mind if we had a rainstorm. We could brush up on your dancing. Jason: Oh. Wait a minute. I thought you wanted to forget tradition and just stay true to who we are. Sam: Well, I know exactly who we are. Jason: Why don't you tell me. Sam: Really? Well, you're the strong, silent type. The kind of guy who would do anything to make his woman happy, and I happen to be that woman, the one that you are planning on spending the rest of your life with. And I gotta tell you, in that life, yeah, there's gonna be...a lot of dancing. Jason: Hmm. Well, good thing we didn't pick out invitations. There's not gonna be a lot of dancing. Sam: No, I am not letting you back out of it now. You're stuck with me forever. Jason: I wouldn't have it any other way. Sam: Jason, I know this all seems like it may be getting a little overwhelming, and if we let Maxie to plan the wedding, it's probably gonna be over the top. But I just--I don't want us to ever get lost in ourselves. So, when we feel like it's happening, I want us to have something that always reminds us of us. How's that? [Jason and Sam laugh] Sam: Ta-da! Jason: So, why not--why not make this the reception, too? Sam: Takeout and beer? Jason: Yeah, it'd just be one less thing to cross off the list. Sam: Well, speaking of list, we could cross something else off the list. Calendar. Pick a date. Jason: Mm...I picked the reception. You pick the date. Sam: Oh. You want to play it like that? Jason: Yeah. Sam: Ok. Well, I'm gonna leave it up to fate, then. Ok, ready? Here, I want you to hold it. Jason: No, no, you hold it. Sam: No, no, we're gonna hold it together. Close your eyes. Drop it. [Door opens] Carly: Oh, God, Jason, thank God you're here. Jason: Carly, whatever it is, this has got to wait. Carly: It can't wait. It can't wait. Sam: Damn it, Carly. Carly: It's Jax. He's back. Carly: I know I promised I would respect the boundaries that you guys are trying to set, but I need you. I cannot lose Josslyn. Jason: Just slow down. You're sure Jax is back in town? Carly: Skye saw him. Sam: Skye? What is she doing here? Carly: I have no idea, but Jax is back. He's after Josslyn. It's the only reason he'd be here. Sam: Wait a minute. Maybe Skye was just messing with your head. Carly: No. Jason: Did anyone else see Jax? Carly: I didn't stop to poll the restaurant. I heard Jax was back in town, and I know he's headed for Josslyn. Sam: So you came here instead of going to the police? Carly: I don't want Jax arrested, Sam. Jason: The judge granted you custody. If Jax tries to take her or see her without your permission, he's breaking the law. Carly: Jason, Jax is Josslyn's father, ok? I'm hoping down the road we can reach some kind of compromise. I'm sure that's not gonna happen right now because he's really angry, thanks to Sonny, because he trashed Jax's life. Sam: Well, that's kind of what happens when you rely on other people to take responsibility for things that are happening. Carly: Ok, you know what? I don't want to destroy Jax. That's why I can't tell Sonny. I can't go to Sonny. If Sonny finds out that Jax is back in town, Sonny will try and kill him, and you know that. And you don't want that for Josslyn any more than I do, so will you please come and help me? Sam: Jason... Carly: You know what it's like to lose a child. You told me to fight for her. Sam: I can't--you are not doing that. You're not using Jake to get Jason to do what you want. Carly: No, I'm not. And Jason doesn't do anything he doesn't want to do. He helps and protects the people he cares about. Sam: Ok. Well, then I'll go with you. Jason: No. Sam and Carly: No what? Carly: Will you help me? Will you help me stop this from spinning any more out of control? Will you please help me keep my daughter? Jax: There's my little girl. I missed you so much. You know, daddy should never have left in the first place, huh? Yeah. All I did was think about you and that little smile of yours. But guess what. Daddy is never, ever going to leave again. Josslyn: Mommy. Carly: I can't get through on the home phone and Mercedes isn't answering her cell. Why isn't she picking up? Jason: Carly, it's gotta be the weather. Carly: God, I hope we're not too late. Jason: We'll get there, Carly. Carly: Don't let me lose her, please. Don't let me lose her. [Telephone ringing] Jax: We made a lot of memories here, didn't we? You took your first steps in this room. Said your first words, I think, too. [Josslyn fusses] Jax: You know your mom and I were supposed to grow old together in this house? [Telephone continues ringing] Jax: Well, things don't always work out the way we want them to, right? I promise you wherever we go, we are going to make new and wonderful memories together, ok? Now, I need you to say bye-bye to the house, ok? Say bye-bye. Say, bye-bye, house. Bye-bye, house. Josslyn: Daddy. Jax: That's right. That's right. Carly: Can't you go any faster? Jason: We'll get there. Carly: Jason, look out! [Tires screeching]

Jax: What are you doing here? Shawn: Seems you'd have a harder, more interesting time answering that question. Jax: Step out of the way. Shawn: You're not leaving this house with that child, not on my watch.
[Thunder] Carly: I can't get through on the home phone, and Mercedes isn't answering her cell. Why isn't she picking up? Jason: It's got to be the weather. Carly: Oh, god. I hope we're not too late. Jason: We'll get there, Carly. Carly: Just don't let me lose her. Please, don't let me lose her. Elizabeth: That is not what happened. You fell by accident. I did not push you. Siobhan: Oh, it's always an accident with you. At least have the guts to admit that you want me dead. Elizabeth: No. Siobhan? Hey, Siobhan. Siobhan? Carly: Can't you go any faster? Jason: We'll get there. Elizabeth: Siobhan! Carly: Jason, look out! [Brakes squealing] [Metal crunches] [Glass breaks] [Elizabeth panting and grunting] [Thunder] Elizabeth: Siobhan? Siobhan? Siobhan! Jason? Jason! Jason! Is that you? Jason! Oh, god. Oh, Jason!
[Electric buzzing] [Thunder]
Thunder] [Thunder] Elizabeth: Hang on, Jason. Hold on. Sam? Sam? Carly? Carly. Carly.
Jax: You don't really think I'm going to let a thug like you keep me away from my daughter. Shawn: All I'm doing is keeping her here. It's ok, sweet pea. You got nothing to be scared of. Jax: Don't talk to my daughter like you have a relationship with her. Shawn: Oh, but I do. Jax: No, you don't. Shawn: Carly was given full custody of Josslyn. Now, you took a hell of a risk coming here tonight. Jax: You're telling me your concern is that I'm here to rescue my daughter. Shawn: No, no. You're not here to rescue. You're taking her. Jax: Oh, whatever you want. Just get out of my way. Shawn: You're breaking the law, Jax. Jax: Sonny broke the law when he drugged me, when he set me up for sexual harassment. I am here to right a wrong. Shawn: But the cops won't see it that way. I don't see it that way. Jax: I don't care how you see it. I don't really think you're going to call the cops. Shawn: Carly's offered you joint custody again and again. Even after the judge's ruling, she was still willing to compromise. Jax: I'm not going to beg for time with my daughter. Shawn: Why don't you do us all here a favor, make this easy? Jax: Or what? My, my. What have we here?
Shawn: I knew you wouldn't walk away from your daughter, after all you've been through. That's why I stayed in town. Jax: That's why Carly is still paying you, I'm sure. Shawn: No. Creditably, your wife still thinks the best of you. Jax: Well, that's because Carly knows deep down that I'm right, and that her actions caused Michael to be the way he is, and she knows that this could happen to her as well. Shawn: On the contrary. Carly knows Josslyn is safe with her. You know, she is a great mom. Jax: [Scoffs] She is a great mother, isn't she? Just has a small blind spot when it comes to the safety of her children. Shawn: So your plan is to do what, huh? Kidnap this little innocent girl? Take her out of the country and away from her own mother? Jax: I want her to grow up and have a normal life, you know, play with normal kids. I live in fear every minute that she's in this house that I'm going to get a phone call that something has happened to her because of sonny and Jason's world, and that is not good enough. That's not good enough for me, and that is not good enough for her, ok? I don't need to explain myself to you any further. This is none of your business. Shawn: I'm making it my business. Jax: You're scaring her, ok? Shawn: It's ok, Josslyn. Jax: You want to prove to me that you really care about this little girl, that you want what's best for her? Then you get out of my way and let me walk out of here.
Elizabeth: Carly? Carly? Don't move. Don't move. Carly: What happened? Elizabeth: Stay still. We were in an accident. Carly: Where's Jason? Elizabeth: He's in the car. He's really hurt. I got to go call for help. Please put your head down. Carly: Why are you here? Elizabeth: I was driving the other car. Carly: Oh, god. Elizabeth: Don't. No, Carly. You can't move. Lay back down, please. Don't move. What's hurting? Carly: Oh, my god. My wrist. It's broken. Elizabeth: Ok. Anything else? Carly: I'm bleeding. Elizabeth: All right. All right. Do me a favor. Just lie as still as you can, please. Just put your head down. Carly: Oh, my god. Help Jason. Elizabeth: I'm going to. No. I'm going to go help Jason. I have to find Siobhan. Carly: I had a cell phone in the car. Elizabeth: Ok. Please, just do me a favor and don't move. Lay down. I'll be right back. [Carly panting] Elizabeth: Siobhan? Siobhan? Oh, god. Siobhan. Siobhan! Hey. Siobhan. Please, don't die on me. Please, you better not die on me.
Elizabeth: Siobhan? Siobhan, can you hear me? Siobhan, can you-- oh. Somebody's here. Hey! I'm here! Dante: Hey. Hey. Elizabeth: Jason, he's locked in the car. I can't--I don't know the extent of his injuries, but I can't get in there. Dante: Carly. How's Carly doing? Elizabeth: She's probably got a concussion, and her wrist is broken. But Siobhan was thrown from my car. She's over there. And I can't get cell reception anywhere. Dante: Yeah, I know. I think there's a tower down. My police radio was going in and out. Let me see if I can get an ambulance or something. Carly: Josslyn. Elizabeth: Carly? Hey, Carly? Carly: I have to get to Josslyn. Elizabeth: Dante's here. He's calling for help, ok? Carly: We have to get to Josslyn. Elizabeth: Don't move. Carly: You have to get her.
Jax: Can't you see what's best for this little girl? Shawn: I do. That's why I'm standing in this doorway. Jax: I'm her father. I'm the one she's bonded with. Shawn: You know, it doesn't take much to connect--love and attention, kindness, awareness. You know, a child senses those kinds of things. Jax: What she's sensing right now is that you're a threat. Shawn: I'm not threatening anyone. All I'm saying is this little girl's going to stay right here in her own home. Jax: Her home is with me. Shawn: And her mother. Jax: She made that impossible. Shawn: And now, so are you. It doesn't have to be one way or the other, Jax. Jax: This conversation is over. Shawn: Why won't you try and have a conversation with Carly-- Jax: Step aside. Shawn: Take Josslyn back in her room, and I'll let you walk out of here. Jax: Oh, yeah? What are you going to do? You going to try to wrestle her away from me? Huh? Going to try to wrestle her away from me? What if I drop her? What if something happens to her? She just had surgery. I'm pretty sure you're aware of that. Shawn: You know, I was about to remind you of the same thing. Jax: I can take care of my little girl. You know, there are doctors where I'm going to. Shawn: Where are you going, Jax? Where can you go? You think Carly's just going to drop this, or sonny, or Jason? You want to take this little girl and spend a life in hiding? Jax: Well, she's better off in hiding than in a coma like Michael, or in a grave, right? Shawn: Don't do this, man? Don't make this any harder. Jax: What are you going to do, huh? You already made sure that I can see your gun. Shawn: That's right. Jax: That's right. The question is, who are you going to use it on?
[Dante panting] [Thunder] Elizabeth: Did you get through on your radio? Dante: Yeah. A couple of ambulances are on their way. Elizabeth: I pray they get here soon. Dante: I wouldn't bet on it. This storm's knocked out power to half the city. We got power lines down, trees falling all over the place. If these clouds really open up, we're going to have flash flooding, too, on top of-- Elizabeth: Please be careful with that knife. [Dante grunts] Elizabeth: Got it? Dante: I got it. Elizabeth: Ok. All right. No, don't move him. Don't move him. He could have a spinal injury. [Siren] Dante: How is he? Elizabeth: His breathing is shallow. His pulse is really fast. That cut doesn't look good. Why the hell didn't the air bag come out? Dante: Can you tell at all how serious it is? Elizabeth: We got to get him to the hospital now. Dante: Ok. Ok. We got to go check on Siobhan, too. Hang on. Elizabeth: Ohh. How is she? Dante: She's still unconscious. Elizabeth: Ok. Siobhan? Siobhan? Can you hear me? Come on, Siobhan, you got to make it. Don't do this to me. Dante: You called me from the warehouse. You said you had Lucky's cell phone. You were going to go look for him. Elizabeth: I didn't even have a chance because Siobhan showed up, and she followed me there, and then, she fell, and I was taking her to the hospital, and she kept passing out in the car, and I-- Dante: You said she fell? Elizabeth: We had an argument at the top of the stairs. She lost her balance. I never meant for any of it to happen. Dante: It's ok. Of course you didn't. Elizabeth: Thank you for having a little faith in me. Maybe it's time you had some in lucky, though, because whatever's in his system, he didn't put it there. Dante: Ok, but it's there, and he's been fighting it with his mind and his body and everything he's got. And I know addicts. Once they get another taste of it, it's-- Elizabeth: He'll fight it, all right? He'll fight it. Dante: Ok, he'll fight it. But he needs help, ok? You're not going to be enough, just you alone. And if you think that, you're both in more trouble than you can handle. [Siren] Carly: Ohh. Jason? Jason? Jason. Oh, god, Jason. Wake up. Jason, wake up. We have to go get Josslyn.
Shawn: Don't push it. Jax: You don't have a lot of choices here. Shawn: You do. Go put your daughter back in the nursery. Jax: I'm not going to do that. Shawn: We don't have to do it this way, man. Jax: I don't have a choice. Shawn: You're not giving me much, either. Jax: You, sonny, and Jason. It always comes down to violence in the end, doesn't it? Shawn: It doesn't have to. Jax: Men like you don't know anything else. That's why you were hired by the local mob in the first place. It's why Theo Hoffman hired you, because you have no boundaries. You'll do whatever it takes. And if someone gets in the way, it's an accident, right? Like that friendly fire in Afghanistan. Yeah. You think that Carly is going to think that you're a big hero if something happens to her, huh? This isn't war. I'm not the enemy. I am her father. You hurt one, you hurt the other. Do you understand that? Now, step away from the door. Boy: Get away. Please, no! Shawn: Stop. Jax: I can't. And if someone accidentally dies on your watch, this is never going to end for you. Never. [Gunfire] Boy: No! Jax: You really want to bet the future of anybody in this room on it? Do you? Boy: Get away from me! [Gunfire] Jax: I didn't think so. Boy: Get away! Get away! Get away! Get away! Jax: Let's go, Josslyn. Boy: No! [Grunts and screams] My doctor told me calcium
Elizabeth: There's nothing left for me to do, so I'm going to go find lucky. Dante: No. I want to take you to the hospital first, get checked out. Elizabeth: I'm fine. I'm fine. Dante: You don't know that. Elizabeth: I know that Lucky's paranoid, and he's confused, and he needs me, so I'm going to go. Dante: Ok. Ok. Let's--we'll deal with lucky after the hospital, ok? Elizabeth: It can't wait. Dante: Look, you were in a car crash. You're in shock right now, whether you know it or not, so I want to take you to get checked out. Please, let me take you to do that, ok? Elizabeth: All right. Dante: Come on. Carly: Dante. Your mom. Dante: Yeah. What about my mother? Carly: Have her meet me at the hospital, please.
Carly: Olivia? Dante: Oh, yeah. She wants to talk to you. I don't know why. Olivia: Hey, honey. Don't worry about the fundraiser. You made pounds of money. Jax would be proud. Carly: Jax is here.

Carly: I gotta get out of here. Olivia: Carly, you haven't even seen a doctor yet! Carly: Jax is back in town. He probably has her by now. Olivia: Listen to me, Carly. You were in a car accident. You could have some internal damage! Carly: He's probably at the house. Olivia: Listen to me. Listen, Jax left town. Remember that? That's why we had to do the fundraiser. Carly: Skye was there. She told me. Olivia: She told you what? Carly: That she saw Jax! Olivia: Wait, wait, she saw-- Carly: She saw Jax on the water front and I know he's going after Josslyn. I have to find him. And listen to me--I have to find him before sonny finds out.
Thunder] [Car stalling] Jax: Lesson number one, joss-- never drive too fast during a rainstorm, especially through puddles. Because it drowns the car engine. That's right, yes. And it always seems to happen when you're driving to the airport. Don't worry, daddy's going to get us out of here if it's the last thing I do.
Olivia: Hey, hey, hey, sit. Sit. Sit. Carly: What did you tell sonny when I left the hotel? Olivia: I just told him that you had an emergency. Carly: And then? Olivia: And then he took off. Carly: Because he knows something's wrong, and he probably went straight to my house. Olivia: Ok, let me get him on the phone, and I'll try to straighten this all out. Carly: He's not going to answer you. He's not going to answer you. If he goes to my house and he sees Jax, he's going to kill him. I have to stop him. Olivia: Honey, honey, let me get you to a doctor! Carly: I don't want a doctor. I want you to get me out of here. Are you listening to me? Olivia: That's not a good idea. You could have all sorts of-- Carly: If you don't help me, I'm going to find someone who will help. Epiphany: You're not going anywhere. Carly: My daughter needs me and I have to get to her. Epiphany: No. The paramedic report says that you have a broken wrist and could have a concussion. So you're not going anywhere until you're seen by a doctor. Carly: It's my choice. Olivia: Ok, honey, honey. What about Jason? What about Jason? Ok, you stay here. I will go to your house. I'll find Josslyn. And if I see Jax, I know that I can talk some sense-- Carly: You need to hurry! Can you just hurry? Olivia: Ok! Honey, you got the beater? Dante: Yeah, why? Olivia: Because I need four wheel drive behind something that no one's going to cry if I put a couple of dents in. Give me the keys. Dante: Where are you going? Olivia: I need keys, not questions. What, do you need the wheels? Dante: No. I can take a squad car. But why don't I just go with you, and I can drive. Olivia: Honey, you're not going with me. Just-- Dante: It's a stick shift. The four wheel drive is kinda-- Olivia: Give me the freakin' keys to that car. Dante: Yeah. It's nasty out there, ok? Be careful. Olivia: You have no idea!
Jax: Well, this is turning out to be quite an adventure, isn't it? One thing's for sure-- our car is not going to take us anywhere. That's right, it is kaput. You're a very clever girl. It's very kaput. Well, we can't stay here, joss, so what do you say to a little walk in the rain, huh? Want to go outside, take a walk in the rain? Yeah? Yeah, it seems to have stopped a little bit, at least. Daddy will promise to keep you dry, ok? And safe. That's what this is all about, isn't it? Keeping you safe. All right, come on. We have got to keep moving, right? We can't stay here.
Carly: Yes, I need an outside line. It's an emergency. Epiphany: This phone is for hospital staff only. Carly: I need to get in touch with my daughter! Epiphany: Ok, I will get the police to go look at her-- Carly: No! No, I can't. Epiphany: Ok, then you need to go back to your room and wait for your doctor-- Carly: No, this will only make it worse, ok? Epiphany: All right, how about this? You give me a list of names that I can call. Carly: Sam! Sam! How's Jason? Sam: We have no idea. You proud of yourself?
Sam: Did you hear anything Jason and I told you about barging in on us? About respecting the fact that he actually has a life of his own? Carly: You asked me to be selective and I was. Sam: No, we asked you to act like an adult. Carly: And I did. Sam: We were in the middle of a really important dinner and you didn't seem to notice. Carly: I'm sorry. I thought the welfare of my daughter seemed a little more important than bok choy and beer. Sam: Maybe it was about a little bit more than that, Carly. Maybe it was because Jason and I were celebrating something that had absolutely nothing to do with you. We asked you to respect our relationship. Carly: My daughter could be missing, ok? That's really important, Sam! Sam: Really? Have you seen Jax? Carly: No. Sam: No. Has he called you or threatened you in any way? Carly: No, no. Sam: How do you even know that he's back? Carly: You know what, I don't have to explain anything to you and I didn't have to explain to Jason, because he believes me! Sam: Why do you have to call Jason? Can't you call somebody else? Wait a minute, sorry, no, you can't do that because that would take consideration and you don't have that. You barge in whenever you feel like it. Carly: I didn't force Jason to leave with me. Sam: He can't say no to you, Carly. Carly: And you can't stand that. Sam: Oh, no. This had nothing to do with him choosing you over me. You used Jake to get him to go with you. You had the gall to guilt him about his dead son-- Carly: No! Sam: To get him to go with you! Carly: Jason loves Josslyn! Sam: What about the boundaries we set, Carly? As adults! Carly: Boundaries?! My daughter could be missing, I think that trumps your boundaries, Sam! Sam: Do you have any idea what it did to Jason to think that there was a possibility that a child could have been kidnapped right after losing Jake? Are you even sure that Josslyn isn't at home sound asleep in bed right now? Did you even go home before you went crying to Jason? Like you went crying to sonny because you were afraid to lose that custody suit. Look what that did. Look at what you're doing now. Carly: I didn't go to sonny, and I cannot be held responsible for what he does. Sam: Oh, no, of course not. Carly could never be held responsible. You use other people's pain to get what you want. You've been doing it for years. And now Jason is hurt, again. Carly: You're blaming me for this?! Sam: You are damn right I'm blaming you. Carly: Sam, I didn't cause the accident. And I pray with everything I have that Jason's going to be ok. But Josslyn could be missing right now. Sam: Could be. Might-- might be. Why don't you admit that this little crisis of yours was your way to stake some sort of a claim into Jason because you feel like you're losing ground with him. This isn't about you, Carly. You always think it's about you. Carly: I don't expect you to understand. You have no idea what it's like to lose a kid. So much for acting like an adult, huh?
Carly: My wrist may be broken, but if you hit me again, I will rip you apart. Sam: Do you even get that this has nothing to do with you or your kids? That Jason could be seriously injured right now? Carly: I know more about Jason being injured than you will ever understand. Monica: Uh, excuse me, but that dubious honor falls to me. You want to compare losses? [Scoffs] Carly: Oh, sorry. Sam: Yeah, the hell you are. You have been using Jason since the moment you laid eyes on him. Before you even knew his name. You've expected him to take care of you and your children no matter what it cost him, and you never, ever give anything back, Carly. You don't even say thank you. You just take and take and keep taking. Carly: I love Jason. Sam: Well, your kind of love costs way too much. Carly: You know what, don't you underestimate what Jason means to me. Or what I mean to him. Let me tell you something-- I've been in his life a hell of a lot longer than you have, and I'm not going anywhere. No matter how much you want me to. Sam: Yeah, well, I hope loving you hasn't cost him his life.
[Thunder] Shawn: Hey. Buddy. Are you lost, huh? Yeah. It happens. [Chuckles] It happens to the best of us. Sometimes all-- all we need is a little comfort in the storm, huh? Come on. That's ok.
Josslyn: Rain! Jax: Yes, I know, it is raining. But we're going to go on daddy's airplane. You want to go on the big airplane? Josslyn: Mommy! Jax: Yeah, we're going to get warm. We'll have some hot chocolate and you're going to get some sleep. We're going to start our life together, ok? Josslyn: Rain! Jax: Yeah, it's raining.
Carly: How is he? Patrick: I'm sorry, it's not good. Jason suffered a severe head trauma. Carly: That's all you got? I was there, Patrick, I saw the bump on his head. Sam: Is he awake? Patrick: No, he's still unconscious and he's unresponsive. Monica: Oh, my god. It's just like before. Sam: No. No, it's not. He'll come around. He's going to come back to us.

Sam: It's gonna be ok. It's gonna be ok. Tell me it's gonna be fine. Jason's gonna wake up. Patrick: Jason has, um, suffered a previous head injury. Carly: We know his history. What's going on with him now? Patrick: Because of his history, we're approaching this with as much care as possible. Monica: Oh, Patrick, even I know that's medical hedging. What are we dealing with? Patrick: Severe head trauma. CAT scan. Monica: MRI? Patrick: Ordered, but we can't say anything else. Carly: Can you try? Patrick: I am not gonna make any predictions until I see the scans. Once I can properly diagnose Jason, we'll move forward accordingly. Sam: Can we see him? Patrick: Yes, but it's going to have to be brief. Monica: Carly.
Carly: Come on, pick up. Damn. Oh, God. Sam: Carly. He's--he's still out. And there's really nothing you can do here. You should probably go get that wrist checked out. Carly: I'll get it checked out when I need to get it checked out. I want to see Jason, and I don't really care what you or Monica have to say about it.
Carly: It's not fair for you to blame me for what happened. I was only hoping that Jason could help me find my little girl. It was an accident, Sam. This wasn't my fault. Sam: Look, that's actually the furthest thing from my mind right now. It's not all about you, Carly. And I'm not really worried about assigning blame at the moment, because it's really not gonna change anything. I need to focus on staying strong for Jason so he can get through this, so we can walk down the aisle the way we were supposed to. Carly: You're gonna be ok. I know how strong you are, and you've been through a lot more than this over the years. This time it's my fault, though. I'm so sorry that I dragged you out in that storm to help me find Josslyn. And I wish I could say that it made a difference, but it didn't, because she's still missing and I'm still terrified. See how much I rely on you? You're unconscious and you're still calming me down. Sam's right. I rely on you too much. You know, she asked me, why does it always have to be Jason? And it...you're all I have. You're the only person that I can really count on. I know you love Sam, Jason, and I'm happy that you're gonna marry her. Well, I'm happy that you're happy. I am. I just, um...well, you need to know that I'm always gonna need you. You know? I'm always gonna be a part of your life. You're stuck with me. I just...can't stand the thought that my needing you is what caused all this. Patrick: I'm sorry, Carly. We're gonna have to run more tests. I'm gonna ask you to leave. Carly: Ok. Patrick: Thanks. Right here. That's what I'm talking about. What do you think? Matt: I think the resolution of this new scanner is amazing. I think the guy's in a lot of trouble.
Carly: Olivia. Did you go to the house? Olivia: Yes. Carly: And Josslyn? Olivia: I looked everywhere. Carly, she's gone. Carly: Ohh...
Carly: Oh, God, Jax has my little girl. I knew it. I knew it! Olivia: You're not the only one who thinks so. Sonny was at the house. He thinks Jax took Josslyn-- Carly: Ok, you have got to stop Sonny from looking for Jax. Olivia: It's too late. He went straight for Skye. Skye didn't know anything. That even made Sonny madder. I tried to stay-- Carly: I'm going to find him. There has to be a phone in this place. Olivia: It's not gonna do any good. Sonny's like a laser beam. Carly: If you tell Sonny about Jason, he will come here. Olivia: I already did. It didn't even register with him when I told him how bad Jason was hurt. Carly: This is what I was afraid of. If Sonny finds Jax, he's gonna kill him.
Olivia: We need to call the police. Carly: No, we can't call the police. I don't want Jax arrested. Dante: It's better than having to I.D. him at the morgue when Sonny's through with him. I heard everything you said. Carly: You know what, don't do anything. I can fix this. Oh, God. Steve: Hey, let me see that. Carly: Oh, it's fine. It's really fine. Steve: No, it's broken. You're not gonna be able to drive or use the phone, and if you don't get it set soon and in a cast, you're gonna risk more complications. You have a toddler to take care of. Carly: Edward, how is he? Edward: He looks so--so peaceful. I haven't seen him like that in I don't know how long. Oh, when he was in premed, mm-hmm. Yeah. Asleep in his chair in the den, having studied half the night. God, I miss that boy. Ohh. I'd give anything to have him back. Patrick: Excuse me. I need a family member to sign a legal document. I need to perform surgery on Jason. It needs to happen now.
Patrick: We've discovered a mass at the base of Jason's frontal lobe. I'm not sure what it is yet. Carly: Is it a tumor? Monica: Let him finish, Carly. Skye: Edward, let me get you some water. Edward: All right. Thank you. Patrick: We're not sure if it's a tumor. But because of where it's located, it does need immediate attention. Dr. Hunter and I went over Jason's medical records and we've determined that the mass postdates his previous head injury, but we're not sure if it's a result of what happened tonight. Matt: Because of the head trauma, there's significant swelling. Patrick: We want to get Jason into an O.R., do a biopsy on the mass, see what we're dealing with. I have to warn you, there is risk involved. Sam: What kind of risk? Patrick: The mass is in a tricky area. The swelling doesn't make it any easier, but I am confident that I can get in and get the job done. Carly: Should you wait for the swelling to go down? Monica: Patrick knows what he's talking about, Carly. Sam: Yeah, and this is a family decision, anyway. Carly: Jason's like family to me. Sam: Like, but he is not your family. Carly: He's not your family, either. [Carly and Sam shouting] Olivia: Why don't we just calm down here, Carly. I think it's time for you to deal with the other family crisis that you have going on. Carly: Fine. Will you please keep me posted with whatever's going on. Sam: Yeah, I'll actually call you and keep you updated. Patrick: Monica. Monica: I trust your judgment, Patrick. If you think that, uh, an exploratory procedure is necessary, then you should go ahead with it. Patrick: I do. Sam: Wait a minute, no, hold on. This all sounds a little bit too risky. Shouldn't we wait until the swelling goes down? I mean, that is an option, right? Monica: Excuse me. Sam, you just told Carly this is about family. Medical authorization is about family. And that's where you don't have any vote. I'm his mother. Sam: I'm his fiancée. Monica: You're what? Edward: Mm, oh, they're engaged. I just found out about it myself, and it's wonderful-- Sam: Sorry, but I should have some kind of rights and I want to exercise them.
Olivia: Thank you. Thank you. And...thank you. Epiphany: I don't recall giving you permission to use this phone. Olivia: That's probably because I didn't ask. Ok. Carly, it's all set up. I got a limo driver from the hotel. He's an ex-marine. He'll get you there safe. You just have to meet him out front. Are you sure you don't want me to go with you? Carly: No, I want you to stay here. I want you to keep me posted on what's going on with Jason because they're not gonna tell me anything. Olivia: Ok, I will. Just be careful, please. Carly: I'm fine. My wrist is wrapped up. Olivia: I mean if you run into Sonny. Carly: Oh. Yeah. [Dante follows Carly out]

Carly: It's me. I know that you can hear in my voice that I'm a lot more scared than I am angry. Jax, please. Please bring Josslyn home, and we can talk. I mean, I know how much you love her, and I love her, too, and that's a great place to start. Just please come home before something happens that neither of us want. Dante: You mean before Sonny finds him?
Jax: I'm sorry, Joss. I can't do this to you. I just can't do this to you.
Dante: Do you know where Sonny is? Carly: No idea. Dante: But you know he's looking for Jax. Carly: I'm looking for Jax. Dante: Yeah, I heard that on the message you just left. Carly: You always walk into people's houses and eavesdrop? Dante: It helps when the door's wide open. Look, I know this has been a crappy night. You were in a car accident. So I'll save you the hassle of coming up with a cover story. I'll tell you what I know. Jax took Josslyn without permission, which means it's kidnapping, and I know it wasn't called in-- Carly: It has been a crappy night, and I don't feel like answering your questions now, any more than I wanted to answer them in the E.R. Dante: Ok. Even if Jax does bring Josslyn back tonight, it's not gonna stop Sonny. Carly: Sonny's not here. I haven't spoken to him. I have no idea what he's gonna do. Dante: Other people might not know. People who have illusions about Sonny, you know, his other kids, his other women. Hell, maybe even my mother. They might tell themselves that Sonny would have compassion for Jax as a father, that when Sonny brings Josslyn back, he'll let Jax go. But you and I know better, Carly. We know that once Sonny is fixated on something, there is no reasoning with him. Carly: I'm not protecting Sonny. I have no idea where he is. Dante: I wish I could believe you. And I feel like a total jerk interrogating you in your living room after the night that you've just had. Carly: Then get the hell out, Dante. Dante: But you will lie for Sonny with total conviction. Carly: I'm not lying! Dante: You might be doing that right now. Carly: I'm not lying, ok? I'm not lying. Dante: Sonny trashed Jax's life. He hired a woman to drug him and accuse him of abuse. Maybe Sonny's motives were pure and he was just trying to help you out, but Jax lost his child and then retaliated by taking Brenda away from him. Carly: What the hell has Brenda--why are we talking about Brenda? Dante: Because that's all that matters to Sonny, is payback. And maybe that's all you care about, too. Maybe you don't care what Sonny does to Jax. Carly: I don't want anything to happen to Josslyn's father. Dante: Josslyn's not the only one whose father is at risk. What about Michael and Morgan and Kristina, and, hell, I know you don't give a damn, but what about me? I don't want to see Sonny face a life term because this thing with Jax got out of control.
Carly: When this is over, I'm gonna fly to Rome myself and kick Brenda's ass. Dante: I don't see how you can blame this on Brenda. Carly: Of course I--not only did she leave Sonny, she had to twist the knife by flying off with Jax. Dante: Maybe that was Jax's idea. Carly: Jax didn't force her. She could have said no. There's not enough attention in the world for that woman. She wanted to keep Jax and Sonny at each other's throat and she got her wish. Dante: Ok, so you admit it. This is about revenge for Sonny. This whole search for Josslyn is just an excuse. Carly: Why does it have to be one or the other with you? Right or wrong, good or bad, Sonny's both. He wants to help me find my little girl, but, yeah, he wants to get back at Jax. Dante: And that's ok with you? Carly: No, it's not ok with me! I love Jax. We couldn't make our marriage work, but I want him to be a part of my life, my kids' lives. Dante: Great, then help me stop Sonny! Carly: What do you want me to do? I haven't heard from Sonny. I don't know where he is. Go to the hospital. Sit with Jason. Maybe he'll show up there. Dante: Do you think Sonny's sitting around at a hospital when he could be out chasing down the guy who stole his wife? You know that's not what he's doing. Try again. Carly: Whatever. I'm out of ideas. Dante: All right, let's focus on Jax. With traffic at a standstill because of this storm, assuming he can't get out of town, where would he go with your daughter? Carly: If I knew, I'd be there. Dante: You are an absolute nightmare for a cop. You know that? I mean, there is absolutely no way of knowing if you're telling the truth. Carly: I would lie about almost anything, except my child's safety. Dante: I gotta go get to Jax before Sonny does. Carly: What are you gonna do? Where are you gonna start? Dante: I don't know. I know how Sonny thinks a little bit. Maybe I can get ahead of him. Why don't you stay here and keep trying to reach Jax, and if you do, tell him to bring Josslyn back. Then tell him to get the hell out of town before Sonny kills him and screws us all.
Carly: Uhh. Oh, god. Ooh. You're kidding me. Come on, Carly.
Shawn: No calls. Carly: Maybe Jax didn't get my message. Do you think I should call him again? Shawn: He's your ex-husband. Josslyn is your daughter. You gotta follow your own instincts. Carly: I've been wrong about everything tonight, so if my instinct says to call, that means it's a good argument for me to do nothing. [Moans] Shawn: I think you're being too hard on yourself. Carly: Jason asked me to respect his boundaries with Sam, and I barged in and...he was in a car accident. Shawn: You were worried about your daughter, ok? I think that qualifies as an emergency. Carly: Yeah, but I take everything to Jason. Big emergencies and minor inconveniences. It doesn't really leave much room for him to have a life. And I know that. I've always known that. I just didn't have to deal with it till now. And if I would have found another way to handle the situation, not gone after Jason, then maybe Jax wouldn't have had time to take Josslyn. Shawn: Carly, there's something you need to know. Uh... I found Jax on his way out with Josslyn. I froze up and I let him take her. Carly: Why? Shawn: Jax said things that really pushed my buttons. Ok? They were just words to him, but they were exactly the right ones. Look, I--I couldn't deal. Carly: You had an episode. Shawn: Yeah. PTSD, you know, it--it happens, usually when I'm alone. Usually I'm better at controlling it. You know, I can't stop thinking about Josslyn being dragged out in that storm. And Jax has her who knows where? And I could have stopped it. I could have stopped it. Carly: No, it's not your fault. And I should have listened to you when you told me that Jax wasn't gonna give up. We both messed up.
Shawn: You stay here in case Jax brings Josslyn back home. I'll go looking for him in case he doesn't. Carly: What are you gonna say to Jax if you find him? Shawn: What he already knows. His plan's a failure. Jax needs to cut his losses before Sonny kills him. Carly: If I could just talk to both of them. Shawn: You just need to be here in case Sonny or Jax show up. Ok? I'll be out searching, and you just tell me where to look. Carly: I don't know where. Shawn: You do. You just have to focus. Just--where would Jax go? Who would he ask for help?

Robin: My god. Jax: I'm sorry, we had nowhere else to go. Is there anyone else at the house here? Robin: Emma's here. Patrick's at the hospital. What are you doing? Jax: I came back for my daughter. Robin: Well, you have her. Now what?
Olivia: Hey. Carly: Hi. Olivia: Any word on Jax yet? Carly: No, but I haven't given up hope that Jax is gonna bring Josslyn home and we can avoid all bad things from happening. Olivia: Ok, well, Steve wanted you to rest that wrist. I know how good you are at taking orders. And I'm sure you have not eaten anything today, so I'm here to make you something. Carly: Oh, that's all right. I don't have anything here but frozen pizza and chicken fingers. Olivia: How do you eat like that and look like this? Carly: I'll die fat. I'm not the master chef that you are. Olivia: All I need are a couple of little basic things. Dante always says that I can make magic. His favorite thing is when I come in to his apartment and make up something fantastic out of whatever crap he's got in the refrigerator. Sorry. I know you're not one of Dante's biggest fans. It's probably a topic best avoided. Carly: Gonna be a little hard. He's your son. Olivia: And Michael's your son. No matter how good Dante's intentions were, Michael suffered, and he went to prison because of Dante's choices. I know we got long memories when it comes to our kids. Carly: I don't hate Dante as much as I used to. Olivia: Well, that's progress. Right? Carly: He was here. He was here looking for Sonny. As much as I'd like to avoid the police being involved in this mess, I'm glad Dante's around. Maybe he can talk some sense into Sonny. Maybe he can reason with him. Olivia: There's no reasoning with sonny when he gets like this. There's what sonny wants, and god help anyone who gets in his way.
Robin: Look at you, you're soaking wet. What were you thinking? Jax: What I've been thinking about all along, her safety. Robin: So you just walked into Carly's house and you took your daughter? Jax: Yes. Robin: Was Carly home? Jax: No. Mercedes was there. She was doing laundry. Robin: Jax. Jax: I had to get her out of that house and to some place safe, ok. Robin: Were you thinking about Carly? She's wondering where Josslyn is. Or how this might affect Michael or Morgan? Jax: I'll work things out with Carly once I get her out of the country into a safe place. Robin: Jax, you took your daughter in the middle of a storm. Jax: Well, Carly didn't give me much of a choice. Look, Robin, I'm gonna need to borrow your car. As soon as the bridge is clear, I'm gonna drive it to the airport and I'm gonna leave it there. The keys will be in it, and I'll pay you whatever you want for it, ok? I just needed a place to wait out the storm. With someone who's not gonna question why I'm doing this and someone who's not going to tell anyone where I am. Robin: Just give her to me now. Give her to me or go.
Jax: All I want to do is keep her safe. Robin: Then give her to me. It's 3:00 in the morning and she's wet and she's cold. Please. Jax: Look, Robin, my car broke down, ok. My jet is fueled, on the runway, ready to go. All I got to do is a find a way to get to the airport, ok. Robin: Jax, she had a kidney transplant not that long ago. You know the inherent dangers and that you have to avoid any risk of infection. All I want to do is get her into something dry and make sure she's ok. That's me helping you, in case you don't get that. Jax: Ok. Robin's gonna change your shirt, ok? Robin: Come here, sweetie pie. Oh. Hi, Joss. Let me get you into something dry. Ok. Ok. Up, up. Up. Jax: It wasn't supposed to go like this, you know. Robin: Well, maybe it's a good thing that you're here. You can think this through before everything gets totally out of control. Jax: You said you were gonna help me. Robin: Jax, that's what I'm trying to do. Jax: Then you won't tell anyone that I'm here. Right?
Olivia: Is it good? Carly: Amazing. And considering what you had to work with, wow, no wonder why Dante adores you. You really are one of those Italian mothers. Olivia: Well, he didn't always adore me. When he got out of line, I had to put him in his place. But he always ate well. Carly: Yeah, but now I know why they say food is the way to a man's heart. Hell, I want to marry you. I can't believe some guy never snatched you up. Olivia: You know, all the guys back in the old neighborhood, underneath the tough exterior they were just a bunch of mama's boys. And I wasn't really willing to fill that role. I already had a little kid. Carly: It must have been so hard. That young, doing it all by yourself. Not telling Sonny that he was Dante's father because of the path he was going down. Wow. Olivia: But you know what, that wasn't the reason at first. At first I just didn't want Sonny to feel stuck, you know, out of obligation. I knew we weren't some great love. That was Connie. Carly: Ugh. I still cannot see that at all. Olivia: Because you don't really know my cousin. You just know this fake persona that she's created, this Katie Howard waspy, uptight bitch on wheels. Carly: Yeah, but that must have pissed you off that she created this blue-blood past. It's like she was afraid of who she was and where she came from. Olivia: But who she was was all tied up with sonny. What they had was so intense, I think it scared her. You know, one time Sonny dangled a kid off the roof of the school by his ankles, threatened to bounce him off the asphalt. Yes, because he danced with Connie. Carly: God, Sonny does not like to share. I guess things never change. Olivia: No, something did change. The night that she was supposed to meet him on that street corner, she left him standing there and ran off to the city to follow her dreams. You know, Sonny tried to play it off, of course, like it was no big deal. I could see how deep that hurt ran. Carly: Not his first hurt. Olivia: Probably not even his worst. But it still stung with the same words. You know, you're not good enough. You lose. Carly: Sonny's whole life he's been losing things. And people. Olivia: Yeah. But he acts like he's the only one. Carly: That's how he feels sometimes. I think that's why I stood by his side through everything. You know, I think I'm the one thing that Sonny's never lost.
Jax: When Brenda was under oath, she couldn't force herself to lie to the judge. She had to admit that Sonny is a danger to kids. I would have never lost custody of my daughter if Sonny didn't set me up with that mediator and planted drugs in my apartment. My daughter belongs with me and out of harm's way. [Ringing] Robin: It's how I'm keeping in touch with the hospital during the storm. Video chat. Jax: Oh. [Ring] [Ring] Robin: Hey, Matt. How is Jason? Matt: It's too soon to know. The results from the biopsy aren't back yet. A procedure you never should have signed off on. Robin: Excuse me? Matt: It had to be said. Robin: Oh, ok. Well, if you're feeling slighted or overshadowed by your brother because I didn't agree with you, I'm sorry, but-- Matt: You know that I made the right call. I could see that you knew that I made the right call. Robin: I weighed both of the options and I made a decision. Matt: You let my brother emotionally blackmail you into giving the ok for a procedure allowing him to dig around in a patient's frontal lobe. We called you as the chief of staff, not as Jason's friend or as Patrick's wife. [Josslyn fusses] Look, I don't mean to dump all of this on you, ok. I blame Patrick for putting you in that position. Robin: I'm sorry, I-- Matt: Is everything ok? Robin: I just have to think about what you said. Emma: Look at the baby.
Matt: I have your best interests at heart. And the best interest of this hospital. Robin: Look, this requires a lengthier conversation than I can have right now. Emma's up and-- Emma: I want to play with the baby. Robin: She's trying to find her baby doll. [Josslyn crying] Matt: Is that Emma? She sounds so young. Robin: I gotta go. Ok? We'll talk about this later. Jax: Hey. I got Emma back to bed. Thanks for the save. Robin: I mean, is this the way you want to live your life, constantly looking over your shoulder and living in fear? You've got to find a way to work this out with Carly. Jax: I have tried, believe me. Robin: If you don't, Carly will not give up. She will send Sonny after you. Jax: I'm not gonna keep my daughter here where she's in constant danger from Sonny. Robin: Jax, yes, maybe you could give Josslyn a better life under different circumstances, but this was the life that you chose to bring a child into. You don't get to just walk away now. Jax: I didn't chose this, ok? I was forced to do this. Robin: Will you at least please call Carly, let her know that Josslyn is ok? Jax: Carly already left me a message begging me to bring Josslyn back. She wants to work something out, but we can't. Robin: Jax, then what else do you need to know? She could have easily called the FBI or the police, but she's not, she's calling you. She's still reaching out to you to try to work this out with you. Jax: I know she wants to work this out. But that means that Sonny is still in her life, and I don't want Sonny around. Robin: Forget Sonny. Take Sonny out of the equation. He has nothing to do with this. This is about your little girl. Shawn: And I'm here to take that little girl back to her mother.
Olivia: Do you see that? A little basil, little garlic, little olive oil. You got the basics. You could make something nice out of whatever you got. Carly: I've literally burnt water. Olivia: Oh, come on. One afternoon in the kitchen, I will have you cooking like a pro. Carly: Yeah, one afternoon with me and you will be running from the kitchen, screaming and refusing to let me back in. That's what Sonny did. I can't believe we're sitting here talking about this. Olivia: You needed to eat. Carly: I need to occupy my mind with something besides Jax and how he took Josslyn and what the hell is he thinking and how did we get here. Olivia: Marriage is difficult under the best circumstances. Carly: I loved him. I loved him so much. And I came into that marriage with the best intentions. Olivia: But you came with a lot of baggage, too. Sonny wasn't just your ex-husband and the father of your children. You said it yourself, Sonny… you were the one thing that he never lost. That is a lot for a new man to compete with. Carly: Jax knew that going in. He knew. Olivia: Yeah, but what you know in your head is a lot different than living with it day in and day out. Who can compete with that? Carly: There was no competition. Olivia: Sonny doesn't like to share. Carly: Sonny and I were horrible together. We were terrible. And he almost drove me crazy. I would never go back to that, ever. Olivia: But you didn't have to go back to it. You made Sonny part of your life. Part of yourself. I mean, he was tattooed over your marriage to Jax. Carly: I just hate this. After a lifetime of bad relationships, Jax was the...he was finally the right choice. Olivia: Yes. The one that you pray is out there, but you're afraid a lifetime of bad karma will keep you from finding him, right? Carly: Strong enough to handle anything that comes at you. Enough confidence in himself and you that nothing could shake it. Olivia: Even strong people have their limits. Carly: Sonny doesn't have his limits. He has no boundaries. And that's scaring the hell out of me.
Shawn: I apologize for just entering. It seemed to be the best way to bring this to a sane and peaceful conclusion. Jax: Sonny sent you? Shawn: I sent me. Sonny's got nothing to do with why I'm here. Jax: And why should I believe you? Shawn: I was hired to protect Carly and Josslyn. Hey, like me or not, that's all I've ever done. Now, we both want the same thing--what's best for that little girl. Jax: How'd you know I'd be here? Shawn: Your plane's still on the tarmac. I figured you must have just gotten stranded by the storm. It's a pretty short list of who you'd go to for help after kidnapping a child. Jax: You mean my daughter. Shawn: And Carly's. You know, she was pretty frantic after she learned what you've done. So desperate to find a way to get to her daughter to protect her, she took off in this storm and got in a car accident. Robin: Jason. Carly was the passenger in Jason's car. Jax: Yeah. So Carly's first response is to go to the mob for help. Robin: She went to a friend like you did. Shawn: Because she didn't want to have to call the cops and have Josslyn's father arrested. She could have died in that accident. Would you have been happy then? Jax: I'm not trying to hurt Carly on purpose. Shawn: What do you think you're doing to her right now, huh? Every minute that goes by not knowing where her daughter is, if she's ok. But no, Carly's sitting at home with a broken wrist still thinking the best of you, still believing that you will walk back through her door with that little girl. Now, this could end now, Jax. I can take Josslyn back to Carly and you can just get on your plane. Jax: Do you really think that I'm just gonna walk away from my little girl? Robin: Jax, maybe just for a little while. Just until everything calms down. It's not too late.
Shawn: I have a very tired little girl here who wants to see her mommy. Carly: Come here, baby girl. Oh. Shawn: You got her? Carly: Yeah, I got her. Oh, my god. My sweet, sweet girl. You must be so tired. Yes. Thank you. Thank you so much.
Robin: You did the right thing. Jax: I hope you're right. Robin: I know you can find a way to work this out with Carly so both of you can be a part of Josslyn's life. Jax: Yeah, if Carly's still willing to work with me after what just happened, I guess I owe it to her, owe it to Josslyn. Robin: Well, don't think for one second that Sonny is done with this. Jax: This is none of Sonny's business. Robin: Right. But this whole thing had nothing to do with getting Josslyn back to Carly. He's mad because Brenda left him. And you took off with her to Rome. Whether or not you have any intention of being with her, it doesn't matter to him. Jax: No, I don't think so. I didn't even get off the plane in Rome. I just dropped Brenda off, and I watched her walk away with her son. That's when it all started going wrong for me in my head. Robin: So you admit this was wrong? Jax: Well, for now, maybe. Robin: Well, you can stay here if you need to. Jax: No, I don't think so. I think I should go. Besides, you've done enough. I don't want you to have to explain yourself to Sonny. Robin: I'll be fine. You're the one that should be careful of him. Jax: I'm not afraid of Sonny.

[Door opens] Dante: I need to speak to Carly. Carly: Come in. Dante: I'm following up on Josslyn's kidnapping. I'm looking for sonny and Jax. Carly: Yeah, I should have called you, but I was too busy putting Josslyn to sleep. There was no kidnapping. Dante: Huh. You got a new name for it? Carly: Yeah, it was a misunderstanding. Mercedes and I, we kept missing each other. We couldn't--I guess the storm-- we just couldn't get in touch with each other. Dante: Ok, can we forget the phony cover stories? Sonny's out for Jax's blood and he's gonna draw some, if we don't get to Jax first. Carly: I don't know anything that could help you. Dante: I kind of figured you'd say something like that, so I put out an APB on both of them. Carly: What the hell did you do that for? Dante: Carly, you can't protect Jax or sonny this time. And one way or another, it's all coming to a head tonight.
Jax: Oh, look who's here. Why am I not surprised? Sonny: You got a lot of stuff to answer for. Jax: About my daughter? This doesn't concern you in the slightest. Sonny: I'm not gonna let you kidnap Carly's kid and think you can get away with it. Robin: Sonny, Jax gave her back to Shawn. Josslyn's with her mother right now. Jax: So move along. There's nothing to see here. Robin: Sonny, it's done. Sonny: Like hell it is.
Dante: I'm trying to help you here, Carly. I figured you'd want the father of your child alive. Carly: I want my daughter to have her father in her life, but now thanks to your knee-jerk cop reaction, Josslyn's only gonna see Jax through bars or glass. What is with you, wanting to put everyone I love in prison? Dante: Well, I figured prison was better than dead. Carly: Wow, you're making way too much out of this. Dante: Really? Carly, do you know what sonny has in store for Jax? Carly: Sonny--sonny goes off, ok? He gets crazy and goes off half-cocked, but then he calms down. It's fine. Dante: Really? At the hospital you were saying something completely different. You were all panicked and freaked out that sonny was gonna kill Jax. That's still a very real possibility. Carly: Josslyn's fine, ok? She's home and she's fine. Dante: Just because she's back in your care does not mean the danger has passed. Shawn: She's trying to be positive. Dante: She's trying to change her story, Shawn. Carly: No. Sonny's hurt. Ok? He's just hurt. Dante: Yeah. He's all messed up over the breakup with Brenda. Well, he's gonna take it out on somebody. Carly: He's not gonna do anything stupid. Dante: Carly, he already came at me once. I walked away. I guarantee you Jax will not. That's why I put out the APB. We gotta stop sonny before he finds Jax or Josslyn won't have a father.
Jax: Don't come in here and pretend that the blood in your eyes has anything to do with my daughter. You don't give a damn about Josslyn. You're furious because Brenda left you. And you're even more furious because she left with me. That was just the salt in the wound, wasn't it? A self-inflicted one, I might add. Sonny: And don't you pretend that this has anything to do but u wanting Brenda. You used your own daughter to turn her against me. Jax: Right. Well, I didn't have to try very hard, if that's what you think, because you gave Brenda plenty of reasons. Sonny: Brenda was very happy. Jax: She was in denial with you. And she finally said "enough." Sonny: You've been undermining me and Brenda the second we got back together. Jax: I just opened Brenda's eyes for her. That's all I did. Sonny: You fought dirty, right? Then you got pissed off when I fought dirty back. Robin: Sonny, it wasn't your fight. It was about their daughter. It was between Carly and Jax. Jax: Sonny always needs to make everything about him, in case you haven't noticed. Sonny: What about you, Mr. High and mighty? Dragging everybody into this--Carly, Josslyn. You even dragged Brenda into this bogus court hearing. You were gonna bring my own sons into it. Jax: Your sons have suffered from the choices that you've made, some more than others. I wasn't about to let that happen to Josslyn. Or Brenda or her son, for that matter. Sonny: Oh, the same old Jax, you know, coming to the rescue, morally superior. Well, you've gone too far this time stealing Carly's kid. Jax: Hey. Josslyn's my kid, too. I'm pretty sure you're aware of that. Sonny: Not according to the courts. You grabbed her. Kidnapped her. Jax: You want to compare crimes? You set me up. You drugged me. You are the reason I lost custody of my daughter. And that's what was so unforgivable to Brenda. That's why she left you. That's why she left you, sonny. So your big plan turned around and bit you in the ass. Sonny: You better shut the hell up. Jax: Can't handle the truth, can you? Sonny: You want to know the truth? I'm gonna tell you the truth. I was way too gracious to allow you... move to live.
Carly: I don't understand. You're not related to Josslyn. Why do you care about her custody situation? Dante: Jax violated the terms of your agreement. He kidnapped her. Shawn: But she didn't call the police. Dante: It's still a police matter. Carly: I said it was a misunderstanding, ok? Dante: Sonny's in the middle of this. Carly: Did sonny ask you? Dante: No. Carly: Ok. And you're not gonna back off why? Because you, as always, know what is best for everybody else. Dante: I'm objective. Carly: No. Sonny doesn't want you in this, I don't want you in this, and I'm pretty sure Jax doesn't want you in this. Dante: Too late. Carly: Not too late to call off the APB. Let me find my husband. I'll talk Jax into leaving town. Dante: There won't be a Jax to talk to if I don't get to sonny first. I don't have the best relationship with my father, but I don't want Michael and Morgan and Kristina to have to watch him get sent up for murder. Carly: Ok, so now I don't care about my kids. I don't care how this affects them, is that it? Dante: No, I just think you want me out of here, and the truth of the matter is sonny's in no mindframe to be reasoned with. He means to kill Jax. I'm trying to avoid that happening. Carly: And putting them both in prison is the solution here? Dante: Well, better than letting them wander around till they collide with each other. Carly: Just back off! Back off and let my family handle this. Dante: Can't do that, Carly. I'm not gonna sit on my hands while sonny blows your husband's brains out. Ok? I'm warning you, stay out of my way. Carly: Hmm. Shawn: You know, Carly may not like it, but she knows you have a job to do. Carly: Like hell I do! Shawn: Look, she won't interfere. Dante: All right. I'm gonna hold you to that. Door closes] Carly: What's that, are you trying to handle me now? Shawn: I don't know if I'm up for that. It seems like a lot of work for a thankless task. Carly: I'm scared. Ok? I'm really scared. Shawn: Look, you're allowed. But don't forget to be thankful, too. Look, you got your baby girl. Carly, one thing at a time.
Robin: I thought I could let you talk this out like reasonable men, but now I see I was wrong. Sonny: You were wrong the second you let Jax in the door, robin. Robin: Sonny, put the gun away. Sonny: No. Robin: You don't want to do this. Sonny: Yes, I do. You don't want to watch it, go upstairs. Robin: My daughter is sleeping. Please, put the gun away. Get the hell out of my house. Sonny: If your daughter is sleeping, I will take him outside and do what I gotta do. Jax: Yeah, you always do what you gotta do, right? Why change now? Sonny: Right. And it was in your best interest to kidnap your daughter? Robin: Jax admitted what he did was wrong. Jax: Something sonny doesn't know how to do. Sonny: Putting him in the ground right now just seems...right. Jax: Your timing couldn't be better, because I was just about to make a huge mistake. Sonny: No, a huge mistake was you coming back. Jax: No, no. Robin was just convincing me that maybe I took things too far, that maybe I should compromise with Carly so that my daughter can have the best of both of us. Sonny: There is no best in you. And the rest is gonna bleed when I take care of you. Robin: Sonny, go. Jax: You bring death wherever you go. And not just to adults, to children as well, including your own. Unless they get out in time. Like Brenda took her son away. She took herself away from you. Sonny: You took he Jax. Jax: I saved her. I saved her! You should be thanking me! Sonny: The only one going down is you. Robin: Sonny, no! [Gunshot]
Carly: They won't give me any information. You know why? Because I'm not family. Which is crazy, because I'm more family to Jason than anyone. Shawn: It must be frustrating. Carly: I mean, Jason Morgan hasn't been a Quartermaine for years. They barely know him. They share the same blood. Yet Edward, Monica, even Tracy can find out information and I can't. Sam, with her stupid tin man ring stuck around her neck, ranks higher than I do, and it's not fair. Shawn: Well, try not to let it get you all riled up. Carly: You know what? I think I'm just gonna go to the hospital myself and see how he's doing. But I don't want to leave Josslyn. Shawn: Look, somebody's bound to remember you were there and get in touch. Carly: I'll just call the happy bride-to-be. That's it. Shawn: Let this be tonight, ok? Carly: How am I supposed to do that? Shawn: Look, you can't be all things to all people all the time, Carly. Carly: Jason's my closest friend. Ok? Shawn: But right now, you just need to be Josslyn's mom, present here in the house, nice and calm. Carly: You're right. You're right. Thank you. Although that hardly seems enough. I almost lost her tonight, and that's where my focus needs to be, and you brought her back to me. Thank you. Shawn: It's my pleasure. Carly: And how many times have I sent you away saying I was fine? Shawn: Um...I lost count. Carly: Oh, gosh. I'm so glad you didn't listen. Shawn: And I'm gonna remind you you said that. Carly: Oh, don't do that. [Laughs] I still can't figure out why you're so good to me and my daughter. Shawn: We all need a little help now and then, you know? Some people are just louder about asking for it than others.
Jax: Let me look at that. Robin: No, no, don't touch me. Jax: I gotta help you ,robin. Robin: Jax, don't. Emma: Mommy? Robin: It's ok, baby. It's ok. Go back to bed. Everything's ok. Jax: I'm gonna call an ambulance. Robin: No, but if you call an ambulance, the police come, too. Sonny's not gonna shoot you in front of my little girl. Just go, please. Go. It's ok, baby. Sonny. Don't make me a liar. Sonny: You ok? Robin: No, I'm not ok. I don't want her to see me like this. Can you please go get a towel for me? The kitchen. Sonny. Sonny: Yeah. Patrick: What the hell's going on here? Emma: Mommy got shot.
Patrick: What the hell are you still doing here? Robin: How is she? Patrick: Exactly how you'd expect. Just another day in the life of sonny Corinthos, right? Should we be grateful that our daughter just witnessed the shooting, she's not a victim? Get out of my house, sonny. Sonny: Robin-- Patrick: Get out! Sonny, get out. Robin: Who are you calling? Patrick: I'm calling the police. Robin: Don't. Don't call the police. Patrick: Don't call the police? Robin: Just let this be over. Patrick: You are saying that it's ok that sonny came in here with a gun? Robin: I'm not saying it's ok, but everything is fine now. Patrick: It doesn't look fine, robin. That gun went off and Emma is sleeping upstairs.
Carly: You had such a hard night. But you know what? Everything's always better in the morning. When you wake up, everything will be better. We've just got to figure out how to get you to go to sleep, don't we? Shawn: Well, maybe this will help. Rufus looked like he was on his last legs. Carly: What? You brought that? Shawn: A last-minute idea before I started out of town. I figured it was time joss had a pup she could call her own, one she can grow up with, make all the memories. Carly: Isn't he wonderful? Shawn: Yeah, I have my moments. Carly: I meant the dog. Shawn: Yeah. Carly: But that sentiment works for you, too. [Laughs] Shawn: Rufus is tired. Carly: Oh, yeah. Josslyn: Mommy. Carly: Yeah.
Carly: Out like a light. Shawn: She had a big day. Carly: I'm so glad it's over. Is it over? Shawn: You give any more thought to pressing charges against Jax? Carly: I don't want Jax to go to prison. Shawn: What you want or what you intend might not make a difference at this point. You know Dante put out the APB. If the cops pick Jax up, he can very well do time, if not for the kidnapping, for the drug charges still pending. Carly: It's a mess. Shawn: Yeah, I'd say so. Carly: I know sonny was just trying to help, but... Shawn: No, sonny was trying to draw blood. He still may. Carly: It doesn't help that Dante brought in the cops. Shawn: The best thing Jax could do is slip out of town, let his lawyer clear up the drug charges, and give sonny time to cool off. Carly: That's not gonna happen. Sonny never lets anything go, especially when it comes to Jax. Shawn: Yeah, I sense deep animosity there. Carly: He's been wanting to get rid of Jax for a long time, and now he feels he has a good reason. I just hope Jax is smart enough to get out of town. God. Shawn: Yeah, it's the only chance he has of getting back and being in Josslyn's life one day. Carly: If he comes back. Shawn: You really think there's a chance he won't?
[Cell phone rings] Carly: Oh, god. Jason? Jason: You ok? Carly: Ohh. I am now. What is going on? How are you? Jason: I'm still in the hospital. They're keeping me overnight for observation. Nothing real serious. Carly: I'm so sorry. I'm--this is all my fault. Jason: How's Josslyn? Carly: She's home. She's home in her crib and she's perfect, thanks to Shawn. Jason, I'm sorry. You asked for boundaries and I come to your place not 5 minutes later, banging on the door asking for help, and look what happened. I'm so sorry. [Clatter] Carly: Jason? Jason. [Footsteps] Sam: Get a doctor! Hurry! We need a doctor in here! Hey, Jason.

Carly: Oh, damn it! Shawn: Don't move. Carly: Easy! Shawn: I'm sorry. Carly: It's just me. Shawn: I didn't mean to scare you. Carly: I didn't realized you stayed. Shawn: I wanted to make sure you and Joss were ok. Carly: Thanks for the concern. I just don't think Jax is going to be coming back.
Carly: Jax knows he took it too far. I mean, that's why he let you bring Josslyn back to me. Shawn: Yeah. I think I'm going to stay close just in case. Jax talked himself into taking Josslyn once. He could try it again. Carly: I'm not going to argue with you. You've been right way too many times. I wouldn't have my daughter if it weren't for you. Shawn: You're welcome. Carly: Mercedes is supposed to be here by now. Shawn: Well, go ahead. I'll watch Joss. I know you want to check on Jason. What, you don't think I can look after Josslyn on my own until Mercedes gets here? Carly: I bet there's a lot of things you can do that I don't know about. Shawn: Any word on why Jason collapsed last night? Carly: I finally got through to Sam and she said they're running tons of tests. And for Jason, that's worse than any seizure. Shawn: Ah, I feel for him. No fun being poked and prodded like a lab rat. Carly: Hmm. It's my fault, you know. I'm the one that dragged him out into that storm. Shawn: Now come on now. You were worried about your baby girl. It turns out, you had a good reason. Carly: I was just freaked out and I just reacted. Shawn: None of us know what we'll do when it comes to a child unless we're faced with that situation. Look, you go. I'm going to make some coffee. Carly: That coffee machine's really tricky. Shawn: I have a science degree, remember? I'll figure it out. You get to the hospital. I'm sure you want to personally insist the doctors do all they can to help Jason. Carly: Jason's my best friend. Shawn: Well, he's more than that. Or was. Carly: Wow. You don't miss much, do you? Shawn: Sure don't. Like that lump in the rug. I put my shoes on it so no one would trip. Sorry. [Chuckles] There's something else I noticed. Carly: Ah, I got it. Thank you. Shawn: Well, only one reason a woman like you would be in such a hurry. Carly: Jason's my friend and I just want to be there for him. Shawn: Well, Jason Morgan was a hell of a lot more than just your friend once. I'm just saying.
Sam: Ms. Medavoy stayed in the spa from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. No, wait a minute, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. The male friend her husband accuses her of having relationships with is-- Carly: Where's Jason? Sam: He's still having tests. There's no reason, really, for you to be here. Carly: I want to be here. It's taking hours. Sam: Yeah, well, it's an MRI and a bunch of other scans. You can go and ask Patrick if you want. Carly: I still can't believe he just collapsed. Sam: Yeah, I know. Imagine how I felt when I walked in here and he was on the floor. Carly: Maybe he just got up too fast. Sam: Jason's been running around doing things that he shouldn't be doing. He can't wait to get out of this hospital. Carly: You know, I think I'm going to go buy him some travel books to occupy his time. It's the only thing he really likes to read. Sam: Yeah, I'm engaged to him, I'm aware of what he likes to read. Carly: I'm just trying to help, Sam. Sam: You want to help, Carly? Go home. Go hug your daughter. She's safe. It's the only good thing that came out of this. Carly: You know, when Josslyn was recovering from her kidney transplant, I forced myself to go for walks. If you want to get a cup of coffee-- Sam: I'm not leaving. Carly: Jason's not here. The tests could take hours. Sam: Go, Carly, please. Go home. Jason's going to get through this. He always does.
[Door opens] Sonny: Ahh. Unless you have keys jangling to unlock this door, leave. [Groaning] Jax: I'm not that easy to send on my way.
Jax: You almost got away with it. Sonny: So did you. Jax: Well, I gave up my plan and left Josslyn behind. But that wasn't good enough for you, was it? So tell me, Sonny, how is this supposed to go? Huh? You sabotaged my plane, I'm forced to stay on the ground, your boys come and grab me and take me to the river? Nah. Nah, that would have been too easy. Plus, it's the first place the cops look, right? You see, I--I know what goes in that head of yours, Sonny. I can see inside your head. I am in your head. Sonny: So you hear me telling you to go screw yourself. Jax: You were going to take me out on "The Silent Lady" and dump me overboard, weren't you? Yeah. Police would think it was an accident, right? Jax made a mistake rushing to get out of town, probably got hit by the boom. Psssh. Overboard he goes. And even if you were a suspect, there'd be no proof. Right? Right. Yeah. You just never counted on me getting the plane off the ground, did you? Because you always underestimate me. Sonny: I know your limitations. Jax: No, you don't, because you're just a two-bit thug from Bensonhurst who doesn't care about taking a life. And with Jason in the hospital, there was s one to call you out on your bad ideas. And boy, did you have a lot of those. Sonny: You chose to come back. You knew I'd be waiting. So it's basically your fault. Jax: When you went into the cockpit and started pulling wires, you weren't thinking rationally. You just had this image in your head of me and Brenda on the plane together, right? Well, guess what, Sonny? She was on the plane. Can you hear her? [Woman screaming] Jax: Can you hear her scream? Sonny: Get out of here right now. Get out. Jax: She scrambled into my arms. But I couldn't hold on to her. And the plane broke apart. Sonny: You're messing with my head. Brenda wasn't on that plane. Jax: She went down in the wreckage and twisted metal and rushing water. I tried to reach out to her. I will never forget the look on her face when she disappeared into the darkness. And you should never forget this--that she died hating you. Sonny: She's not dead. Jax: She almost got away from you, too. But you finally did it. You finally did it, Sonny. You finally killed Brenda. Sonny: Damn it, Jax. Get out of here! Get away from me! Jax: No, damn you, Sonny! Brenda is dead...and now it's your turn. [Footsteps] Sonny: Oh, God. [Groaning]
Carly: Um...do you have a minute? Robin: Now's not really a good time, Carly. Carly: I won't take long. I just, um...I want to say thank you. Robin: I'm sorry, did I just hear you thank me? Carly: Shawn told me that you talked Jax into bringing Josslyn home. And I just--I'm grateful. Robin: Well, I didn't do it for you. Carly: I didn't think you did. Robin: Jax had to give up his child, and the saddest part is, it didn't have to end that way. Carly: Yeah, I'm really sorry for how all of this turned out. Robin: Are you sorry for how you unleashed Sonny, or for how crazy he's acting? Patrick: I don't know if you heard, Carly, but Sonny came into our living room and tried to shoot Jax last night. Carly: Sonny shot at Jax? Robin: Yeah. Because of you. You happy now. Carly: What? Patrick: Actually, Sonny is a grown man. He made the decision to fire off that shot. That could have killed Emma, but now she's only traumatized, so... Carly: Oh, God, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Robin: I'm sure you are. Carly: You know what...Jason's the only one who can handle Sonny when he gets like this. Do you have any idea why he collapsed? Patrick: We're looking at a lot of possible scenarios. Most likely the fact that he-- [Cell phone rings] Carly: Oh, I'm sorry. One second. [Ring] Carly: I'm sorry, I have to take this. Shawn. Is Josslyn ok? Shawn: Oh, she's fine. But you need to be down at the police station. It's about your husband.
Carly: Excuse me. I'm Carly Jacks. You have information about my husband. Dante: Oh, congratulations, Sonny. You are free to go. Sonny: Well, I don't know what took Diane so long. I mean, she should have been here a long time ago. Dante: Well, you know what, you gotta give her credit. I don't know too many lawyers that can arrange for bail on a murder charge. Sonny: Sometimes charges get dropped. You know, lack of evidence. And cops realize they made a mistake. Dante: Mistake? Oh, no, there was no mistake. Jax is dead because of you. You finally got rid of the one guy who was willing to call you out on who and what you are. Sonny: If Jax is dead, what do you want me...I'm not going to cry about it. Dante: You killed your kid's stepfather. You left a baby girl without a dad, but hey, you got payback on Jax-- Carly: You bastard. You bastard!

Carly: Excuse me. I'm Carly Jacks. You have information about my husband? Sonny: Ohh. Dante: Congratulations, Sonny. You are free to go. Sonny: I don't know what took Diane so long. I mean, she should have been here a long time ago. Dante: Well, you know, you got to give her credit. I don't know too many lawyers that can arrange for bail on a murder charge. Sonny: Sometimes, charges get dropped. You know, lack of evidence, and cops realize they made a mistake. Dante: Mistake? No, there was no mistake. Jax is dead because of you. You finally got rid of the one guy who was willing to call you out on who and what you are. Sonny: If Jax is dead, what do you want me--I'm not going to cry about it. Dante: You killed your kids' stepfather. You left a baby girl without a dad. But hey, you got payback on Jax-- Carly: You bastard. Dante: Did you feel good to win? Carly: You bastard! You selfish son of a bitch. You did it. You did it, didn't you? Sonny: You got to know the whole story, Carly. Carly: Say it--Jax is gone, and you did it. Dante: Go ahead, Sonny. Say it. Sonny: I don't want to talk about this until my attorney's present. Carly: Don't you do that. Don't you hide behind Diane--not with me. You look me in the eye, and you tell me what you did to Jax. Sonny: Let's go to the car. We'll talk about it. Carly: Don't touch me, Sonny. Sonny: I don't want to talk about it right here. Dante: Why so jumpy, Sonny? You got something to hide? Sonny: Don't want to exploit Carly's grief. Dante: Well, Carly wouldn't even be grieving if you didn't tamper with her husband's plane. Sonny: Why don't you shut up, Dante? Carly: You know, it wasn't enough for you to trash Jax's life. You had to take it all. How could you do that? How could you take Josslyn's father? Sonny: I didn't take any-- Carly: Answer me, Sonny. Sonny: I didn't kill Jax. Dante: That we can prove, yet. We got an eyewitness who came forward, Shawn Butler. Sonny: Ok. See, now he's just trying to string things along. Dante: What words you actually said to me, Sonny? You said, Jax isn't going anywhere. And what do you know--he didn't get very far, did he?
Dante: Plane went down shortly after takeoff. It broke apart on impact with the harbor. Carly: What about Jax? Dante: We have a dive team searching for him. They haven't had any sign of him yet. Carly: So he could be alive. Dante: Carly, I don't want to give you false hope. The plane broke into a million pieces. I don't know, even if Jax survived the crash, if he could make it to shore. Carly: Are you happy? Huh? I mean, it took years, but you were finally able to get rid of Jax. Sonny: It's not like that. Carly: Then explain it to me. Why were you on the plane? Sonny: I'm going to explain it to you, but can we do this without an audience? Carly: Oh, God. Dante: Sonny wants to make sure you got the cover story straight. Right, Sonny? He's hoping that after everything he's just done, you're still going to protect him. Carly: You know, Jax was right. You destroy everything that's good and decent. Sonny: I get that you're upset. Carly: Upset, Jax could be dead, Josslyn may never see her father again, and it's all your fault. You did this Sonny. Sonny: You want me to rot in hell? Carly: No, because hell's not good enough for you. I'll come up with something nice.
Sonny: You need to listen to me. That plane was not supposed to take off. I don't know how Jax got it in the air. Carly: What did you do? Sonny: I was trying to protect Josslyn-- Carly: By killing her father? Sonny: Don't listen to Dante. He wants any reason to try to pin this on me. Carly: Don't play the victim, Sonny. You hated Jax, and you sure as hell weren't shy about it. Sonny: Can I explain? Carly: What was the plan--to wait for Jax to have to get off the plane and put a bullet in him? And then what? Dump him at the Pine Barrens, like you've done so many times before? Sonny: That's why I didn't want to have this conversation with you out there--'cause you would say something in the moment, and Dante could use it against me later. Carly: Right, because it's always about you, isn't it, Sonny? Have you thought for one second how this would affect Morgan? Jax is dead, and you're the reason his plane crashed. Sonny: I told--it wasn't supposed to take off. Carly: But it did, Sonny. It did. But it doesn't really matter, because the outcome would have been the same. You had no intention of leaving Jax stranded on the tarmac. You wanted Jax gone, and you were going to do whatever it took to make that happen. And why? Because of Brenda? Jax didn't take her, Sonny. She walked. And who the hell could blame her?
Sonny: You came to me for help. Carly: Oh, stop. Stop. If I knew what you were planning, I would have never gone along with it. You went too far, Sonny. You always go too far. Sonny: I went too far, but Jax gets his feelings hurt, how does he deal with it? By kidnapping your daughter? If I didn't step in, you may never see Josslyn-- Carly: I could have talked to Jax. I could have made him understand. He would have brought her home. And you know what? I was right. Jax gave Josslyn back. Shawn was bringing her home. She was safe. But that wasn't good enough for you. You tried to shoot Jax at Robin's house. Sonny: You weren't even there. Carly: I know you. I know you, and I know how you think. And don't pretend like this is about me and taking care of me and protecting Josslyn. You went after Jax to send a message to Brenda. She hurt you, so you were going to hurt her back. Sonny: All I ever wanted for Brenda was to make her happy, and I did that for a while until Jax just started, you know, feeding her with a bunch of lies that I couldn't take care of her kid, I couldn't take care of her, I couldn't keep them safe. Carly: Brenda was right to leave you. Your life isn't safe for a child or anyone.
Sonny: Jax is gone, and now, you're going to turn against me? Preach the dangers of my life? Carly: Jax didn't make it up, Sonny. It's a fact. It's the reason Jason let Lucky raise Jake. Sonny: Yeah, yeah. And look how that turned out. Carly: And our children have fared any better? Michael spent a year in a coma for taking a bullet that was meant for you. Then, he went to prison after killing Claudia, the unstable bitch you brought into our life because you said it was good for our family, that it would solidify a place among the families for you. Never mind what it did to our family. Sonny: I was just trying to keep the peace, make it safe for everybody. Carly: You're never going to be safe. Your life is never going to be safe as long as you're in the business, because someone out there is always going to want what you have. They're going to want your power, and they're going to want your territory, and they're not going to stop until they get it. That's why Jax wanted custody of Josslyn. He didn't want her to wind up like Michael. Sonny: Then what you should have done is sat back and let Jax try to kidnap your kid both times he tried. Carly: I kept trying to manage both your lives, and I was wrong. Jax was the better parent. Jax was the better father. Sonny: What does that make me? Carly: It makes you scared. Sonny: Of what? Carly: Being alone. Makes you scared of being alone. And you know what, Sonny? You talk such a great game, but you refuse to put your kids first. And you don't have to worry about pushing people away so you can keep them safe, because no one's going to want to be around you now, not after what you did. Sonny: Don't even try to turn my kids against me. Carly: You've done that all on your own. And all this time we've been worried about how we stop Michael from following in your footsteps--hell, he's never going to want to be like you now. Not even your own son. Sonny: There's a difference between wanting something for your kids and wanting them to be like you. Carly: Michael will see you for who you are, and so will Morgan, and then, they will hate you like I do. Sonny: You don't mean that, 'cause otherwise, you would have cut me out a long time ago. Carly: No, see, I always found a way to forgive, because I was always afraid of what would happen if I didn't. I knew you were capable of ripping your life apart, and I didn't want to be responsible. Sonny: And now? Carly: I'm done with making things ok for you. I don't give a damn anymore. And I want you to stay away from me, and I want you to stay away from my kids. Sonny: Let's not forget one thing, ok? They're also my children. Carly: Not anymore. [Door opens and shuts]

Skye: Jax! I thought you were on the other side of the world by now. What happened? Jax: Sonny.
Jax: When I got to the plane, the pilot wasn't there. So I decided to fly myself. Sonny got there first and trashed the instrument panel. Skye: Sonny tried to kill you? Jax: In a plane crash he couldn't witness? No. There's no fun in that. He wanted to kill me, but I'm sure he had something much more close up and personal in mind for me. Skye: Well, obviously you didn't get very far. Jax: I tried to jerry-rig the-- the damage that he'd done, but the police were already on the tarmac and I had no choice but to take off. Skye: Who do you think tipped off the police? Jax: I don't know. It doesn't really matter. Whatever I tried to fix on the plane didn't work, because as soon as I got up in the air, I started losing power. Skye: Oh, my god, Jax. Jax: Yeah, I just aimed the nose towards the river and I parachuted out just in time. Skye: You could have died tonight. Jax: Yeah. I'm not the only one. I'm just thankful that I gave my daughter back to Carly.
Sonny: Elizabeth? You know if-- Robin: What do you want, sonny? Sonny: I'm just--I want to check on Jason. Robin: He's been having seizures. Sonny: It sounds serious. Robin: It could be, yes. Sonny: What's causing the seizures? Robin: We don't know. We're gonna be doing some scans and tests and exploratory surgery. Sonny: You're gonna be cutting into his head? Robin: That's all I'm comfortable saying right now. Sonny: That's not all I'm comfortable knowing right now. Robin: Well, that's what I told you, and that's what you're entitled to know, since you're not Jason's family. Sonny: Well, I could argue that point, and I'm sure Jason could argue that point. Robin: Well, he's not in a state to be arguing with anyone right now. Sonny: How's your arm? Robin: My arm? Sonny: Mm. Robin: That's the least of the damage that you caused the other night. Sonny: All right, we should probably talk about what happened. Robin: Oh, really? Now you want to talk? Now you want to talk after you left, after shooting off a gun in my house? Sonny: I know that you're upset, right. Robin: I'm very upset. Sonny: You have every right to be angry at me. Robin: I am angry. I'm angry at myself for always defending you to everyone. To my husband, especially Brenda. Sonny: Ok, that's probably a subject we shouldn't even be discussing right now. Robin: Well, you wanted to talk. Sonny: I don't want to get into this with you right now. Robin: Well, I didn't want to come home and have someone shoot a gun off in my house in front of my daughter. Sonny: Ok, I will pay for whatever damage was done. Robin: I'm talking about the damage to my daughter, to Emma. Sonny: She's ok. You're ok. Robin: She's ok? I'm not ok. I am not ok. Neither is Patrick with any of this. Sonny: I won't be here long. I just want to see Jason. Carly: Over my dead body.
Sonny: I don't want to get into this with you right here. Carly: No, no, because you didn't pick the time, place, or the method of attack. Sonny: I'm not attacking anyone. Carly: Right. So you're finally here to see how Jason's doing, huh? Sonny: Well, I was out of my head at that time. But I knew he was in good hands. Carly: Just like you always are in his. And you couldn't be here the night of the accident because you were too busy playing vigilante, right? Sonny: You know what I was doing. Carly: Something no one asked you to do. Sonny: I was following up. Carly: Following up? So is that what you're doing now? You decided to take a step out of your demented life and show maybe a little compassion for the one person who's devoted his entire life to you? Or is this about you? 'Cause, you know, everything is. And you don't really give a damn about Jason. Sonny: You know that's not true. Why would you-- Carly: What I know, sonny, is that you have to be around someone who won't judge you for the unspeakable way you choose to conduct your life. That's what I know. Sonny: Could we not do this right here? Robin: Why not? You're off to a good start, Carly. I think that our sentiments about the situation might just be the same for once. I'm gonna go check on Jason's test results. Sonny: Ok, I guess we're gonna get into it right here, so I'm gonna just say to you, I know you hate me, but my motives were pure. I was just trying to help you. Carly: By sabotaging Jax's plane. Sonny: So he couldn't take off with Josslyn. Carly: Ok, then what? Sonny: You'd have your daughter back. sonny? What kind of condition would he be in? Sonny: I was gonna play that one by ear. Carly: He's missing. Sonny: He should have listened to air control. Carly: He's presumed dead. Sonny: Presumed. Carly: Ok, what would have happened if Jax didn't give Josslyn back? What if he were with her? Sonny: But he did give her back. Carly: Not only would you have killed my husband, you'd kill my little girl. Sonny: So now he's your husband? Since you're pissed off at me, you want to throw everything you can in my face? Carly: No, what I want is for you to take some responsibility, sonny, maybe have a shred of remorse? Sonny: You know how I operate. Carly: I thought you operated with a conscience. Sonny: You want to take--you want to take some respons-- listen to this. You were fine when I helped you get Josslyn back from Jax. Carly: Don't you do that! Don't you do that. Sonny: You were. Carly: You didn't get involved to get Josslyn back. You got involved because you saw an opportunity to take out Jax and you took it--for Brenda. Sonny: Why does everybody keep bringing her name up to me? Carly: Why not bring up her name? What's your problem? Because she walked away from you and turned to Jax like she always does? You lost, again. It hurts, doesn't it? Sonny: I didn't say it didn't. Carly: No, but Jax didn't have to die because of it. Sonny: Well, he should take some responsibility, right? Carly: And he can't now, can he? You lost Brenda. But you could damn sure get Jax out of the picture, once and for all. So how you feel? You feel like a big winner? Or the little boy that you are?
Jax: [Groans] Oh, that's gonna hurt. Skye: So, do you have a plan? Jax: Ohh...nope. Just gonna make it as I go along. You don't happen to have a gun on you? Skye: Oh, Jax, come on. Now, look, is there anybody, a super efficient, sworn to secrecy kind of assistant I can call that would walk through fire for you? Jax: No. Besides, I don't want to involve anyone else. Skye: Except me. Jax: If you're willing. Skye: And able. Jax: Ok. I'm going to need to find a way to get out of town... lay low for a while, get my head together, before I kill someone. Skye: Come on. Just tell me what it is that I can get for you. Jax: I need clothes. You know, something clean, like this, and dark. Skye: All right. Fine. Fine. Um, what else? Jax: Cash. I need lots of cash. You still have access to that money I helped you get from the Lorenzo estate? Skye: I...ah...funny you should bring that up. Jax: I get the feeling it's not funny at all. Skye: Well, it turns out the countess had the last laugh after all. Jax: So you didn't get the money. Skye: Oh, I got it. I just... couldn't keep it. Jax: What happened? Skye: Long story. Look, just suffice it to say that the government had their own ideas where the money should be kept, and it wasn't with me, and I don't know why. Jax: Skye, come on, why didn't you call me? You should have called me about this. Skye: Come on, Jax, I do have some pride, you know. I don't want to come whining to you about everything. And, well, we did have a great adventure, made some great memories, huh? I didn't want to tarnish that. But don't worry, really, I'm extremely resourceful, you know that. I can get you what you need. Jax: Thank you. I'm gonna need your phone. Skye: Oh. Ok. Done. All right. Jax: And, Skye, don't say anything to anyone, ok? I don't know who I can trust right now. Skye: Does that include your wife? Jax: Yes. Skye: Jax. Are you telling me you don't want Carly to know that you're alive?
Carly: No, don't! Don't try and handle me. Sonny: I--I don't want to talk, like, argue with you in front-- Carly: No, you want to get me around the corner and whisper in my ear and try and reassure me and make things better, right? Sonny: Calm down. I don't want you to raise your-- Carly: I'm not gonna calm down. I'm not gonna calm down, I'm not gonna fall in line and make the same tired-ass excuses to justify what can't be justified anymore. Those days are gone, sonny. Sonny: Everything I did was for you. I was trying to help you get Josslyn back. Carly: Don't say her name! Don't you say her name. Forget about her, 'cause you're never gonna see her again, or anyone else whose life I value. Sonny: Don't say that. You don't mean that. Carly: Don't tell me what I mean! Don't tell me what I think, feel, or mean. Sonny: We can get past this. Carly: I don't want to get past it. I don't want to get past it. I will not lose another person, not someone who was shot, caught in an explosion, or died because of you. It's not gonna happen. Sonny: It doesn't work that way with us. Carly: Nothing works with us, sonny. Don't you get that? Sonny: We have a connection, and it can't be broken. Carly: It's broken. You broke it. Sonny: It has survived the test of time. And you know it has. Carly: Stop! Stop! You're not listening to me. Stop it! Sonny: I am listening. Carly: You are unbelievably self-centered. You walk around the world and victims just fall all around you, and it just rolls right off your back. I mean, the dead don't matter as long as sonny gets what he wants. Sonny: You're making a lot of allegations right now. Carly: So what? Let 'em hear me. Let 'em see you for who you are, because I sure as hell do. I see you clearly now. You are no better than a street thug. You don't give a damn about anything or anyone. Sonny: So you think I'm a monster now? Carly: I know you're a monster, and I helped create you. Sonny: No, you understood me. Carly: No, I don't. The second that you were determined to kill Jax without a thought to my little girl, I was done. Sonny: Like I said, we're gonna get past this, ok? Carly: No, we're not. I don't want to be around you. I don't want you around my kids. I want you to stay the hell away. Shawn: Ok. Um, you spoke your piece. Come on, let's get out of here. Carly: We're done. Look at me! We're done! Sonny: Don't say that. Don't say that right now. Carly: I despise you. I want you to stay away from me. Sonny: You can call me whatever you want. Carly: How about a murderer? That's fitting, isn't it, murderer? Murderer!
Shawn: Fresh air doing any good? Carly: Hmm. I don't need my head cleared. I mean, the first time in a decade, it already is, as far as sonny's concerned. Shawn: Yeah, you ripped into him pretty good. Carly: I had a lot more to say. You shouldn't have stopped me. Shawn: No, I think sonny got the message. Carly: You know, his arrogance is just unbelievable. No, it's not arrogance, it's narcissism. 'Cause it's just sonny's world and we just live in it. Think we're lucky, right? I wonder how lucky Jax was. Shawn: What does your gut tell you? Carly: That he's out there somewhere. Shawn: Then that's what we'll believe. Carly: You think it's enough? Shawn: Only you know that. Here. Carly: What's this? Shawn: Comfort food. Ok, junk food, because with you it's all the same thing. Carly: Hey. Oh! Thank you. Wow. You're too observant for my own good. Shawn: Yeah, I know you like to eat garbage. Well, at least it's got nuts and good oils. Hey. What do you say? I like to see a woman who likes to eat more than endive, watercress, radicchio with vinaigrette on the side that never gets touched. Carly: That's very specific. Shawn: Eat the brownie. You know, eventually you're gonna have to show some type of discipline and live by example for your daughter. Carly: That was Jax's job. He made me eat broccoli for 9 months when I was pregnant with Josslyn. Shawn: He's a miracle worker. Carly: Jax has this thing about him, you know. He does. I know, despite everything you've seen and everything that's happened with Jax, he really is a good man. Shawn: Well, he loves his daughter. I can't fault him for that. Carly: He does. That's why I want him to be a part of Josslyn's life. Shawn: There's no reason he still can't be. Carly: Why are you so optimistic? Shawn: I don't know. Maybe life's given me too much pessimism. Now, you don't know one of those sailboats out there hasn't picked up Jax. Carly: I don't. And I don't know what he'll do if he comes back.
Jax: Things are a little complicated with Carly right now. I'm not sure I can trust her judgment. Skye: When it comes to... Jax: Sonny. Carly thinks that he's not a danger to anyone. Skye: Even after this? Jax: No, I just can't be sure that she will pick what's best for me or Josslyn over what sonny needs at the moment. Skye: All right, you know what? I can't believe I'm about to defend Carly, but I wouldn't underestimate the love that you two shared. Jax: Well, I overestimated it. Skye: No, I'm telling you, it is as strong as anything she ever shared with sonny. She just might surprise you. Look, my priority right now is to get you safely out of port Charles. I will be back. [Footsteps] Jax: Hey. Someone's coming. Skye: No, no, no. I'm meeting somebody here. It's fine. Go hide. It's fine. Go. Go. Anthony: Ah. I'm sorry to keep you waiting. I had a few loose ends to tie up on another matter. But I'm here now. How have you been occupying your time?
Carly: You see that mast? The third one in? You can't really see it very well, but that's Jax's boat. He named it after me. Shawn: The mind boggles. Carly: "The silent lady." Shawn: [Laughs] Jax has got a sense of humor. Who knew? Carly: Oh, you met Jax at his worst. I mean, there's a flipside. Jax is the funniest, the most charming. Jax is the most fun I ever had. Shawn: Mm. Regrets? Carly: About a million. But not one about being with Jax. Jax is a survivor. And in many ways, he's just as ruthless as sonny, but he's smarter. He didn't go down with that plane. I refuse to believe it Shawn: I trust your instincts. Carly: You do? Shawn: Yeah. Carly: [Laughs] I don't hear that very often. that get you in trouble. It's your impulse control. Carly: Is that so? Shawn: I'm an astute observer of the human condition. Carly: I knew there was a reason I liked you on sight. Shawn: Nah, not on sight, as I recall. Carly: Right after. Shawn: Yeah. You know, I would like to get a better look at "the silent lady." There has to be a story that goes with Carly: Oh, god. Oh, there's quite a few. [Laughs] Shawn: I'm sure.
Skye: You're late, I've waited long enough, and now I have to go. Anthony: It must be some kind of important you can't spare two minutes to get your money. Look, I'm prepared to make the transfer to your offshore account. Now, what do you got for me? Skye: I got it. I just can't get into it right now. I have to do a favor for somebody I happen to care about. Anthony: Ok. I'll tag along. Skye: No. Anthony: Why not? Skye: I don't want you involved in my personal business. Anthony: Personal, huh? Who's the lucky guy? Skye: Not you. That's all you need to know about it. Anthony: Ouch. Skye: Look, I don't want there to be any misunderstandings between us, ok? And--what did you do to yourself, again? Anthony: I told you. Horticultural-- Skye: Mishap. Right. Well, you know, I'd get that taken care of if I were you. Anthony: Ah, I'm thinking I'm gonna ride it out. I don't trust hospitals. Sometimes you come out of them worse than when you went in.
Jax: Just meet me at the border like we discussed. No, it's just gonna be me. Yes, I have your cash. [Gate creaks] Jax: I got to call you back. [Footsteps] [Carly sighs]

Jax: It's got 5 staterooms, gourmet galley, stocked with frozen pizza, of course. Carly: I guess you've thought of everything. Jax: All you have to do is, uh, christen your namesake. Carly: "The silent lady"? Jax: Yeah. Carly: That's wishful thinking. Oh, please, god... please let Jax be ok. I'd give anything to know that he was ok.
Shawn: Hey, there you are. The meter's about to expire. Unless you want to throw in another quarter. Carly: No. Shawn: We probably should go anyway. We are technically trespassing. Carly: No. Sonny and Jason used to own this place, so... Shawn: Well, I love what they did with the place. Carly: If you want it, you can have it. It's up for sale. Shawn: No, I'll pass. Too much of a fixer-upper. Carly: You may change your mind. You should see the view. Shawn: Hmm. Jax: Whew. Carly: Look. Shawn: Wow. Carly: Open. Shawn: Not bad. You can see the whole harbor. Carly: Yeah. And "the silent lady." Can you see her? Shawn: I guess you really can't miss that one. How big is that thing? What, a 100-footer? Carly: 121. [Jax mouthed 121.] Shawn: [Whistles] 121? Carly: Mm-hmm. Shawn: Oh, sweet. It must have cost Jax a fortune. Carly: Yeah. And he would smile and say it was worth every penny. It really is beautiful. I wish you could see it. I don't how long it's gonna take them to fix the dock. I can't believe the damage that the storm did. Shawn: It was a big storm. It didn't do quite as much damage as Sonny, though, did it?
Carly: I honestly didn't want to go. I've always had a really weak stomach, I'd never been on a boat before. Shawn: So, did you think you were gonna get seasick? Carly: I did get seasick. Oh, my gosh, so bad. Shawn: What did Jax do? Carly: Oh, he was his wonderful self. He made me a cold compress, made me drink tons of liquids, made me food. Most importantly, he made me laugh. You know, many people don't know that about Jax, he's really funny. I guess you have to know him like I did. Shawn: They're gonna find him. Carly: I just wish things weren't so ugly between us at the end there, you know. I just kept telling myself that things were gonna work out. And I still believe that they can work out. We just need to be able to sit down and talk about Josslyn and come up with some kind of compromise. But now I may not get that chance. Josslyn may never know her dad. Shawn: Hey, hey, you can't give up. Ok, there are teams of people searching the harbor right now. And from what you've told me about Jax, he's a survivor. He's coming back. And when he shows up again, he's still gonna be worried about joss. Carly: He should be worried about Josslyn. I know he's worried about Morgan, too, and Michael. Shawn: Now he doesn't have to anymore if you meant what you said to sonny. Did you? Are you honestly gonna try and keep your kids away from sonny from now on?
Carly: I love my kids. I tried very hard to keep them safe. I haven't done a very good job. Shawn: You've had unusual circumstances. Carly: I've had sonny. But I'll do better. I have to do better. And if that means cutting sonny out of their lives, then that's what I'll do. Sonny has already caused so much damage. I can't believe that I let it go on for as long as I did. Shawn: Well, he is their father. Carly: Sonny...Sonny will never change who is or how he operates. He made that crystal clear with what he just did. Jax could be dead. How am I supposed to tell that to my daughter? How am I supposed to tell Josslyn she's never gonna see her father again? Shawn: You don't. Not until we know for sure what happened. Carly: You know, when Jax left after the custody hearing, I could handle that. 'Cause I could tell Josslyn that your daddy's thinking about you. Or daddy's gonna be back soon. But I can't do that now, Shawn. I can't do anything. I don't know anything. Shawn: Look, it's ok for you to be sad now so you could be strong for your little girl later. But what you can't do, what I will not let you do is give up hope. Not yet. Carly: I know you're right. I can't give up on Jax because he wouldn't give up on me. Josslyn needs him. Thank you for listening and... Shawn: You're welcome. Carly: You think maybe you could help me get home? I think I need to hold my little girl. Shawn: Of course.
Skye: Jax? Jax: I'm right here. Skye: Hey. Jax: Hey. Skye: Clean clothes and... a little loan from Edward. Jax: Make sure you tell him thank you for me. And thank you for doing this. I really appreciate it. You're the best. Skye: Well, I'm just glad I could help. Sorry it took so long. I ran into a minor complication. Jax: I wouldn't call Anthony Zacchara a minor complication. You know, you and Carly are a little bit alike. You're both drawn to danger. Just be careful, ok? Because things haven't turned out so well for Carly. Skye: What I'm doing with Anthony is for my daughter, ok. And you of all people should understand you do whatever it takes to ensure the future of your child.
Carly: I love watching her sleep. It's just so peaceful. In the hospital, I used to watch her sleep for hours. Shawn: I remember. Joss is a fighter, like her mother. Carly: I can't take all the credit. Jax is pretty strong. One of the strongest I know. Shawn: And most stubborn. Among other things. Carly: That's true. You're right. I have no reason to believe that Jax didn't survive. Josslyn's gonna see her daddy again. I have to believe that.
Skye: I hope that's enough to get you started, at least until you can access your offshore accounts. I had to leave some money in the safe. Although knowing Edward, he's gonna notice that missing money immediately. Jax: Well, if he does, tell him it will be paid back fast and with interest. Skye: Jackses always pay off their debts. Jax: Yes, we do. Just be sure to leave out the part where the money came from me. Skye: Money from a dead man? Jax: Well, I prefer to think of it as missing. Skye: So, I guess you can't really tell me where you're going, huh? Jax: No. The less people know about where I'm going and if I'm coming back, the better. Skye: What about Josslyn? Jax: Josslyn's gonna be fine. I know that now. Skye: Really? You seem awfully Zen about the situation all the sudden. Anything happen that I should know about? Jax: Well, let's just say that near death experiences put everything into perspective for everyone involved. Skye: Ok. Well, you seem to be leaving with no regrets, then. Jax: Well, for now. I could always change my mind, but you know how that goes. Skye: Yeah. Well, since I'm probably not gonna see you for a good while anyway, I may as well come good and clean. Jax: A little warehouse confession. Skye: My biggest regret is that you and I never found a way to make it work between us, you know. One of us was always going in an opposite direction. That doesn't mean that I don't think you're the most amazing man, I do. I guess you'll just have to be the one that got away, huh? Jax: Another place, another time. Skye: Yeah. Somehow, never the here and now. Well, come on, I'm being selfish, ok. You just, you be careful out there, ok? Jax: Yeah. Only if you will.
