[Thunder] Carly: [Gasping] Help. Carly: Help, somebody. Help!
Jax: I don't give a damn about the storm. My wife is out there and I'm going to find her. Just get the damn chopper ready! Michael: This is all my fault. Jax: Michael, this is not your fault. Michael: I should have told Dad everything. Jax: Look, if this is anyone's fault, it's my fault. I could have stopped Claudia long before this. Okay? But I thought I was protecting your mom and the baby. Michael: Mom looked so scared. Where do you think they are? I mean, do you think Claudia took her? Jax: No. No. Claudia needs a hostage. Michael: Yeah. Morgan: Where's Mom?
[Door opens, closes] Jax: There was a problem at the party tonight. Morgan: Did Mom faint again? Jax: No, she didn't. Look, before I tell you what happened, Morgan, I just want you to remember how strong your mother is, okay? Morgan: That just means it's really bad. Jax: Something came out about Claudia tonight -- Morgan: Look, I don't care about Claudia. Where's Mom? Michael: Claudia flipped out at the party tonight. She pulled a gun and dragged Mom out of the Metro Court. They stole a car and she took off with her. The police are looking for her. Jax: Yeah, but we have the license plate and we know what kind of car it is, so I'm going to try to track them from the chopper. Morgan: Why did Claudia flip out? Jax: There's a lot about Claudia that you don't know. Morgan: Just tell me! Michael: Claudia put a hit out on Dad, and I got shot instead. I mean, she was the reason I was in a coma for a year. It's her fault. Morgan: Are you sure it was her? Jax: Yeah. Jason told Sonny right before the party. Michael: Dad called Claudia out in front of everybody. He said some pretty bad stuff and she just lost it. She pulled out the gun, and Mom just happened to be standing right there. Jax: All right, we have to remember that your mother's going to pull through this. Okay? That's what she would want us to believe. Okay? Her and the baby are going to be home soon. They're going to be just fine. [Michael sighs]
[Thunder] Carly: [Gasping] Claudia? Claudia? [Gasping] Carly: Oh! [Groaning]
[Carly gasping] [Thunder] [Carly gasping]
Jax: I don't care what the weather model says, I can fly through it. [Door opens] Jax: I gotta call you back. Have you heard anything? Olivia: No, I'm just here to help out with the kids. Jax: How bad is the weather? Olivia: It's awful, it's terrible. There's flash floods everywhere and road blocks all over the place. Jax: Well, I'm taking up the chopper as soon as I can. Olivia: In this weather?! Jax: Well, we have the description of the car and the license plate number. Of course I’m going to take the chopper up. Olivia: Who is that going to help, for you to go crashing your chopper out in this? The boys? The rescue teams that should be out looking for Carly? Jax: I have flown in way worse than this, okay? Olivia: Risking your life in this storm is not going to make the guilt go away. Okay? Not that you have any reason to be any more guilty than anyone else. Nobody could have seen this coming. [Thunder] Jax: I wanted to tell Carly everything as soon as the baby arrived. Olivia: I know, I know. Jax: [Sighs] I didn't tell her because I wanted to protect her. Didn't work out so well, did it?
[Thunder] Carly: Oh! [Gasping] Carly: Okay. All right. Okay. [Gasps] [Thunder] Carly: [Gasping] Honey, I know you're awake. I know you're ready. You've just gotta hang on for a few more minutes. [Thunder] Carly: We're going to be okay.
Jax: I am a private citizen. I have the right to fly in any weather conditions. No, no, no. Mac Scorpio does not have the right to ground me or my aircraft. No, I realize there's a police search underway. They're looking for my wife! Olivia: Take it easy. Jax... Jax: I mean, I should be out there looking for her. A flyover would be so much faster. Olivia: That's not gonna happen. So, you need to calm down now so we can figure out a way that we can help. Jax: I should have told Carly about that stupid DVD as soon as I got it from Jerry. Olivia: Don't be kicking yourself. Don't be kicking yourself about your wife. Jax: I just got done telling the boys how strong Carly is. If I really believed that, why didn't I just tell her the truth? Olivia: The truth works both ways, Jax. Okay, Claudia was gonna use the truth to destroy people's lives tonight. It's the truth that Dominic is my son Dante. Right? It's also the truth that Sonny is his father. I mean... Jax: Yeah. I can see how relieved you are that she didn't get a chance to say that. As much as I want Dante to build his case against Sonny and lock him up for the rest of his life, it's not my top priority right now. Olivia: But you're missing my point. Look, I raised my kid as far away from the mob as I possibly could. And that meant that I lied to that kid every single minute of every single day. And you know what? I would do it again in a heartbeat. And I bet you would do the same thing if you thought that you were protecting Carly. Right? Jax: I would. Olivia: Yeah. You see? We do the best that we can with the information we have. That's all that anyone can ever do. Okay? And now we just have to pray that they find Carly in time.
Carly: [Panting] Hello? Hello? [Thunder] Oh, God. [Panting] Oh. Okay. Okay. Well... we're away from that psycho, and we're out of the rain, so we're doing good -- [Hard panting] Okay. All right, now. I gotta get this place ready for you. Soon you'll be going up to half a mile in under 30 minutes.
Jax: You know what? If I can't fly, I will drive. I'm gonna take the SUV and head for the border. That's the most logical place where Claudia would have gone, right? Olivia: We both know that Claudia's not thinking logically. Jax: Oh, I hate it when you make sense. Okay, you know what? Fine. Screw the FAA and screw the cops. I'm gonna take the chopper. And if they don't like it, they can arrest me. Ohh. Where are my keys? What? What, did you find Carly? Sonny: Not yet. I'm just here to pick up the boys.
Carly: [Labored breathing] Oh. Okay. [Thunder] Carly: I guess it's just you and me. [Shivers] I can do this. I hear that women do this all the time. But let's look at the bright side. We're out of the rain. And after I get this fire started, we're gonna be nice and warm. [Thunder] [Labored breathing]
Jax: The boys are upstairs getting ready for bed. Sonny: They'll sleep better at my house. Jax: They've had a very difficult evening, Sonny. Sonny: Which is why they need their father, Jax. Jax: That is the last thing they need. Sonny: Don't fight me here, especially after what you did. Jax: What I did? Sonny: Yes, what you did. Jax: What about what you did tonight? Huh? Sonny: You know what -- Jax: You didn't really think -- Olivia: Guys, guys! Guys! The boys don't need to hear a big argument tonight. Sonny: She's right. Don't make this difficult. Okay? I got guards at my house -- Michael: Dad! Morgan: Did you find Mom? Sonny: No, buddy. Not yet, okay? Do me a favor. Get dressed, 'cause you're gonna come home with me. Jax: The boys live here, Sonny. We're family. Okay? They're not leaving this home to be with you.
Carly panting] [Thunder] Carly: Okay. Oh. Okay. All right, little girl. We're gonna be okay. You know, we can do this. We can do this. [Labored breathing] [Gasping] [Door opens] [Thunder]

Jax: Carly would want the boys to stay here. Sonny: Don't speak for Carly. Jax: This is their home, Sonny. Sonny: And I'm their father. Come on, kids. Let's go.
Carly: Oh, God, no. Oh, God. No! Claudia: Let me help you with the baby. Carly: No, you get the hell away from me! [Thunder]
Jax: Listen, it's late. Okay? The boys are exhausted. Sonny: Okay, boys, you don't have to change your clothes. You got clothes at my house. Just put a coat on and get in the car, we'll leave. Jax: You'll see them tomorrow, Sonny, okay? Right now, the boys need to stay here. They're worried about their mother. Sonny: That's why they need to be with me until she's rescued. Jax: Why? They're perfectly happy waiting here. Sonny: There's a crisis going on, and we're going to wait it out together like families do. Morgan: It's not our night to visit you. Mom thinks we'll be here when she gets back. Michael: Yeah, you know, Mom would just rather us be here. Sonny: Yeah, boys, I'm just trying to do what's best for all of us. Jax: I think the boys have made their decision. Sonny: I know you're Carly's husband, but I'm not going to back off just because you want me to. Olivia: Sonny... Sonny: And I'm going to tell you something else, all right? If you want to look for Carly, you want to join the search, fantastic. The sooner we find her, the better, okay? But don't you for one second think that you can use this tragedy to stake a claim to my kids.
Carly: [Gasping] Get out! You're running for your life, remember? Claudia: You need help. Your baby-- Carly: I don't need help! Claudia: Listen to me! Okay? I know that you hate me, and I don't blame you. But you've gotta do what's right for your kid. Carly! You have a blood disease, right? With some initials. And if something happens right now that goes wrong, you're screwed. Carly: You shot my son! You don't touch my daughter! Claudia: My baby died inside of me. I'm not going to let that happen to yours.
Jax: Go on up to your room, boys. Sonny: No, no, no. You stay right there. Olivia: Listen, kids, this has been a really tough night for everybody. Could you guys just go upstairs and give us a couple minutes to work this out? Michael: Hey, come on. Olivia: Thanks. Jax: Get out. Sonny: Screw you. Jax: It's my house, get out. Sonny: They're my boys! Olivia: Okay, can we talk about this like adults for one second? Sonny: That-- Jax: You signed away custody, okay? You have no legal rights to Michael and Morgan whatsoever. Sonny: Is that where you're going to go? I don't give a damn about legal rights! Jax: Oh, I know you don't give a damn about legal rights. But I think a judge would have a different opinion. God forbid something happens to Carly tonight. Those boys are my responsibility. Do you understand that? Sonny: Do you understand that you're an outsider? You don't belong with my kids, and you will never take them away from me. Jax: They're already with me. Olivia: This is not the time or place for this! It's been a terrible night, especially for those kids. Everyone's scared. Sonny: Yes, yes. That's why they need their dad. Olivia: Okay, Sonny, you've made your point. Sonny: Really? Olivia: Yes. Sonny: Go over there. Side with him. Olivia: Sonny, I'm not taking sides with anyone except Michael and Morgan. If you're trying to prove that you're the great dad that you're always trying to be, let the boys stay where they are. Sonny: They need love and reassurance, and that's what I'm trying to do. Olivia: Okay, you two both need to just give this a rest for now. Jax: I agree. Sonny: You agree. Of course you agree. 'Cause you're getting your way. Olivia: Look. You got two choices here, okay? You can stand here and you can argue with Jax all night, or you can go home, say a prayer for Carly and try to get a couple hours of rest, because you are going to need them tomorrow. Sonny: If somebody told you to walk away from your son, how would you feel?
[Thunder] [Carly gasping] Claudia: You got yourself pretty well set up here. I'm impressed. Carly: I told you I don't need you. Claudia: Well, you're stuck with me, so deal with it, hmm? Is there a stove? Should I try to find a pot? Are we supposed to boil something? Carly: You have to sterilize the knife to cut the umbilical cord. Claudia: I'm going to see what I can find, and, uh... [Carly gasping] Carly: Oh! [Gasping] Oh, God! Claudia: All right, okay, hey. Breathe, Blondie, breathe. Shh. Come on, you can do this. Breathe. [Inhaling, exhaling] You can do this, come on. Breathe, breathe. [Carly gasping] Claudia: See, I told you you needed me.
Jax: Thanks for getting through to Sonny. Olivia: My heart is breaking for him. He's just trying to be a good father, you know? Jax: You're being too kind. Sonny's selfish. He uses these kids like he uses everyone else. Olivia: That's not fair, Jax. Jax: The kids were tired and ready for bed, and they said they didn't want to go and he ignored them. You heard it. Olivia: He wasn't thinking straight, all right? Jax: No, he wasn't thinking straight tonight when he made that speech at Claudia's birthday. I mean, he's single-handedly responsible for sending her on a rampage that got Carly taken hostage. Olivia: He can't possibly have known what that was going to do. Jax: With Claudia, you should always expect the unexpected. Now he should have known that. Olivia: Okay, you're right. You're right. Sonny should have known better. And not to be a bitch here, Jax, but when Michael and Morgan are in the room, you need to shut up about Sonny. Okay? He is their father. And a boy is never going to learn to respect himself if he can't respect his father. Jax: Oh, is that why you never told Dante who his father was? Olivia: That's a big part of it. I didn't want my kid's self-esteem affected by his father's terrible decisions. And that's not to say that I think Sonny's a bad father. I don't. Sonny hates you like God hates sin, Jax. It took everything he had to walk out of this house without those kids. But he did it. He put those kids first. And that's all any good parent can ever do.
Carly: [Gasping] God. Something's wrong. I keep pushing, but the baby's not moving. [Gasping] Claudia: Okay, hold on. Let me see. Carly: Oh! [Gasping] Claudia: I think I feel your baby's head, and maybe-- maybe the shoulder-- Carly: Maybe the shoulders are stuck or the head's in the wrong position. [Gasping] Claudia: Do you have any idea what you're talking about, or are you just making this up as you go? Carly: I've heard this happen before. You gotta push the shoulders down. Claudia: What are you, nuts? I can't push! What if I hurt your baby? Carly: I should be in a hospital having this baby and I'm not. I'm stuck in this cabin with you because of you. You help me save my little girl.
Jax: Sorry about the disagreement between me and your father. We let our emotions get the better of us. Michael: Yeah. I guess we're all just really worried about Mom. Jax: We are. But it doesn't help anyone for me to be arguing with your father. So sorry about that. Morgan: I just hope Dad isn't too mad that we didn't go with him. Jax: No, he's not mad. He just wants what's best for you, and so do I. [Cell phone rings] Jax: It's the police department. Excuse me. This is Jax. Michael: This is my fault. I should have just told Dad that Claudia got me shot. Morgan: Why didn't you? Michael: Because I let Claudia work me. The woman who just kidnapped our mom. How could I have been such an idiot? Morgan: Mom's going to be okay. I mean, Jason and Dad are both looking for her. So are the police. Michael: Yeah, well, she'd be a lot better if it wasn't for me. Morgan: Michael, it doesn't even make any sense. Michael: Yeah? I woke up from a coma totally ungrateful, going off on her at every chance I got. I was telling her that I didn't want to live at home. I was losing my temper. Mom's had a really dangerous pregnancy, and I just kept stressing her out. I'm amazed that something didn't happen before this. Morgan: But it didn't. Mom's really happy you woke up. I am, too. Michael: Look, Morgan, you've been awesome. Mom would have such a great life if it was just you and Jax and our baby sister. It's me. I'm the one who's the problem. Morgan: Mom loves you. Michael: Yeah. But just because you love someone, doesn't mean they're good for you, you know?
Claudia: How do I get these shoulders unstuck? Carly: I think you have-- Claudia: You think, Carly, you think? Carly: You gotta try something! Claudia: All right, okay. Um, all right, I'm going to do this. Ready? Ready? Ready? Carly: Oh! Oh, my God! Claudia: Crap! What did I do, what did I do? Carly: The baby just shifted. It's okay, do it again. You gotta do it again. Claudia: You're sure? Carly: Yes. Claudia: Here it comes, here it comes. Carly: No matter how bad I scream, you keep pushing. Claudia: Okay. Ready? One, two. Push. Carly: Oh! Oh! Claudia: I think something just came--I think the shoulders are unstuck. I think they're unstuck. Carly: I think the baby just moved, thank God! Claudia: Thank goodness. She's not coming yet.
[Jax sighs] Carly: You are the most wonderful man. And I don't think I'll ever be able to express how grateful I am for you. For your limitless patience. For your generous heart in allowing me and my boys into your life. For your capacity to forgive. And most importantly, the biggest lesson that you've taught me is that love doesn't have to hurt to be valid. Morgan: Is Michael down here? He's not in his room. Jax: No. Morgan: I think he's gone.
[Carly gasping] Claudia: Come on. One more push. Come on, one more push. Do this. Carly: No, she's still stuck! Claudia: Come on! All right, you know what? You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to push down on the shoulders one more time, okay? It worked last time, right? Okay, so let's do this again. Ready, on the count of three, we're going to push together. One, breathe. Two. Come on, Carly. Carly: I can't! Claudia: No, yes, you can! Listen to me! You need to fight! Fight, fight for her. Get mad. Push. One more time. Come on, do this with me. Ready? And two, three, push! [Carly groaning] Claudia: Come on! Push! I think she's coming! Come on, push, push, push! She's coming! Oh, yes, I see her! I see! Okay, here she comes. Here she comes. Oh, I think she's--she's out, she's out. She's out. She's out. Carly: [Gasping] Is she okay? Why isn't she crying? Is she okay?
Carly: Is she okay? [Baby crying] Claudia: Hello. Look at you, big girl. You're so perfect and beautiful. Carly: Give her to me. Claudia: I'm so glad you're here. Oh. Carly: Come here! Claudia: I brought you into this world and I'm going to take good care of you, make sure you're okay. Carly: Give me my daughter. Claudia, give me my daughter.

Carly: Give me my daughter, Claudia. Claudia: You're so beautiful. [Josslyn coos] Claudia: Yes, you are. You are the most beautiful thing ever, aren't you? Oh! Yes, you are. We have the same birthday. Do you know that? It's not been a very good birthday so far. In fact, probably the worst. But -- [Chuckles] At least until you came. What a precious little gift you are. Yes, you are. Just like I told Sonny -- babies change everything. They do. Yes, they do.
Carly: Please, let me hold my baby. Claudia, please. Olivia: I never got to hold my baby. You like that? You like shiny, sparkly things, huh? Me, too. Carly: She's my daughter. Give her to me, please. Give her to me. Claudia: Sonny didn't even want a baby. But we don't need him or anybody else, do we? Carly: She's not yours. You can't have her. Claudia: I know. But I don't want you to catch cold now. We don't want you to catch cold. Carly: You're not going to take my baby, Claudia. Claudia: There we go. You have Michael back and Morgan. I lost everything. Carly: No. No. You can't take her. No. Claudia! You can't take her! Claudia! No, no! Please! You can't take her! No! [Woman vocalizing] Carly: Michael, look at me. Look at me! You have to come over here and help me stand up. We have to get out of here. [Choir vocalizing] Carly: Oh, my gosh. She's beautiful. She's so beautiful. Look at my perfect little girl. [Crying] My beautiful, beautiful baby.
Jason: Hey, Michael. Why don't you come see your baby sister? Michael: I can't. I got blood all over my hand. Jason: Your mom and your sister are both okay, and they want to know you are, too. Come on. [Josslyn coos] Carly: Why don't you say hello to your little sister? This is your big brother Michael. Michael: I'm sorry, Mom. I knew that Claudia was the one who got me shot. I should have done something before she got a chance to hurt you, too, you know? Carly: No. Come here. Come here. I don't want you worrying about this, because if you are safe, that's all that matters. Okay? Jason: I need your cell phone. [Josslyn grunts]
Sonny: You blew a lot of hot air before about how you were going to take care of my sons. Now Michael's gone. Where's Morgan, or did you lose him, too? Jax: Morgan is at home with Mercedes. Now, listen to me. Michael feels responsible for Claudia taking his mother hostage, which is ridiculous, because we all know who started that domino effect, don't we? Sonny: Okay, stay here till the storm's gone -- Jax: I'm sorry that my anger's putting you out. I'm not entirely comfortable with the idea of my wife giving birth at gunpoint, Sonny. Sonny: Okay. You need to get out of my way. Jax: Did you really think that Claudia Zacchara was just going to sit there while you arrange a public stoning? Sonny: Yeah, I did. How long did you know that your brother was involved in Michael's shooting? Covering up for your psychotic brother -- you think that's a good way of showing Michael how much you care? Olivia: Guys. You guys, there's enough blame to go around here. Jax: Carly, the baby, Michael, and Morgan -- they're all I think about, Sonny. [Cell phone rings] Sonny: Excuse me. [Ring] Sonny: Hello? Jason: You alone? Sonny: No. Jason: Okay. Just listen to me. I found Carly. She had the baby, and they're both safe. Sonny: All right. Uh, Jax is here. I'll tell him. Jax: What is it? Jason: Sam's going to take Carly and the baby to General Hospital. I need you to bring Max and Milo out and meet me on Route 86, okay? It's about a half mile past the Broad River Bridge. You're going to see Claudia's car. It's a blue sedan. It was wrecked by the roadside. Sonny: Got it. Uh, Carly and the baby are fine. Sam's taking them to General Hospital. Jax: Where are they now? What about Michael? Sonny: Okay. You got your kid. Let me worry about mine.
Jason: I need you to tell me exactly what happened after Claudia took you from the Metro Court. Carly: I was in the back seat, and she was talking crazy about the baby, so I freaked out, and I grabbed the wheel, and we crashed. She was unconscious, so I got out of the car and just started walking. And I found this place. I was going to have the baby by myself. And then, she shows up. And after -- after the baby was born, she was talking about taking her, and she tried to take her away, Jason. Jason: Okay. It's okay. Listen. Sam is going to take you and the baby to the hospital, okay? Carly: Yeah. Jason: When the cops ask you what happened, you say that you left Claudia in the car, and that's the last time that you saw her. You found your way to this cabin, you had your baby alone, and that's when Sam found you. Carly: Okay. What about Michael? Jason: Michael is going to stay with me. Sam, can you take them? Sam: Yeah, of course. Jason: Okay. You found Carly by yourself. You never saw Claudia. You never saw Michael. Sam: Right. All right. What if they ask about you? Jason: You just tell them I'm still looking. I hope you can get up. Okay, come on. Okay. I got you. Oh, yeah. Here you go. Here you go. Carly: Oh, God. [Sniffles] You're going to be okay. You're going to be okay. Jason: Michael, let's go.
Carly: How did you find us? Sam: Well, after a couple of false starts, Spinelli was actually the one who found some footage from a security camera of Claudia heading north on 86 toward Canada. And we were able to find the wrecked car and, of course, Michael's next to it. Carly: I begged her to take me to a hospital. She was sure if she gave me up as a hostage that Jason would kill her. She started going on and on about her baby, how she lost it. God. Sam: You want to talk about what happened at the cabin? Carly: Claudia showed up. She helped me deliver my little girl. She saved Josslyn's life, and she wanted to take her. Then Michael showed up, and -- God. You know, he was -- he was just trying to protect us, and now he has to carry her death, and -- Sam: Yeah, but not alone. Carly, not alone. Jason is going to take care of this and help him, and Sonny is on his way.
Olivia: I think you're forgetting it's good news, Jax. Jax: Well, I'll believe it when I see it, when Carly and the baby are here and safe. I just hope that they find Michael. Olivia: Sonny will find Michael. Jax: Okay. Do me a favor and spare me. Don't say anything nice about the guy, 'cause he's a constant threat to me and my family. And the sooner your son gets his act together and puts Sonny behind bars, the sooner I can get off this joyride. Olivia: Why don't you do me a favor and stop trying to put my kid between you and Sonny? Jax: He's already between me and Sonny. It's exactly where he wants to be. You tell Dante that I'm ready to use all of my resources to help him close his case. Carly: Jax. Jax: Ohh. Thank God you're okay. Carly: Do you want to say hi to your daughter? Jax: Yeah. Carly: Oh. Jax: Oh. Carly: There you go. Careful, careful. Jax: Oh. [Carly laughs] Jax: She's so beautiful.
Carly: Did you talk to Dr. Lee? Kelly: I thought you'd want to hear the news together. Carly: How's Josslyn? Kelly: She is in excellent condition. [Jax sighs] [Carly chuckles] Kelly: 8 1/2 pounds, and all of her vitals are strong. Jax: What about Carly? What about the ZBT? Kelly: We're still monitoring you closely, but the condition is no longer a factor. Jax: Good. Carly: So when can I eat like a human being again? [Kelly and Carly laugh] Kelly: Oh, you know, I'd wait a day or two before having pizza with everything, but you should be fully recovered in the next few weeks. Carly: So when can we see our little girl? Kelly: Soon. You know, I have to tell you, after the last ultrasound, I was a bit concerned about a breech birth. It's a good thing she came out head first, or you might not have had such a happy ending. Jax: Yeah. Oh! Kelly: Oh. Well, there she is. [Epiphany and Kelly laugh] Carly: Look at her. Thank you. Kelly: Congratulations. Carly: Thank you for everything. Jax: Thank you. Thank you so much. Epiphany: This little girl has the luckiest parents on the face of this earth. Don't blow it. Jax: Oh, don't worry. We won't. Hey. Hi. Carly: Oh, she's looking at you. Jax: She is so beautiful. Hi. You're so precious. Carly: Oh. Jax: Did we make this? Carly: I think we did. [Chuckles] Jax: You know, Epiphany's right. We got lucky. Odds were stacked against you and the baby right from the start. But you were determined to give birth to her, and here she is. I could not be happier than I am right now. Thank you. Carly: So can I hold Josslyn, or is she already Daddy's little girl? Jax: She's our little girl. Here. I wish that my father were still alive to see this. Called my mum. She's on her way. Carly: Did you tell her what happened? Jax: No. No, I wanted this to be about joy. Ugliness will intrude soon enough. I wanted this to be about the three of us, happy and safe. [Jax sighs]
Jax: She's sleeping. You haven't touched your chocolate. Did you lose your sweet tooth? Hey. Carly: I'm happy. Jax: I'm happy, too. Carly: I'm scared. Jax: Well, you don't have to be, 'cause Claudia can't hurt us anymore. [Carly sighs] Jax: Did I say something? Carly: It's Michael. Jax: How do you know about Michael? He ran off, and Sonny's going to find him. Don't worry. Carly: He did. Michael was with me. Jax: How is that possible? Carly: God. I don't even know where to start. Honey, Claudia was just -- she was crazy. Jax: That's Claudia. Carly: No, no. This was a different kind of crazy. I mean, she lost it, and she was -- she kept talking about taking my baby. So I just freaked. You know? I freaked. I grabbed the wheel, and I tried to stop her, but we crashed. And Claudia was unconscious, so I just wanted to get the hell out of that car and get away from her. Then I just started walking through the woods. And then, I found a cabin, and it was dark, and it was cold, and there was no electricity. So I went inside, and I started a fire, 'cause I thought, "I'm just going to have to have this baby here by myself." Then that door swung open, and it was Claudia. God, Jax. She was standing there, and it was like a horror movie. She was bleeding, and she was wet, and she had the gun in her hand. And then, she just -- she helped me. Jax: Claudia helped you. Carly: Yeah. Josslyn's shoulder was stuck, and she wouldn't move, and Claudia shifted her. Jax: You're saying that Claudia Zacchara delivered our little -- Carly: I'm saying that she saved her life. But then, she took her. She took her into her arms, and she wouldn't give her back to me. She was going to take her, Jax, and I kept begging and screaming for her to give me Josslyn back, and she wouldn't. And I couldn't get off the couch. I couldn't stop her. Jax: How did you get her back? Carly: It was Michael. I know he didn't mean to do what he did. Jax: What did Michael do? Carly: He hit her. And she fell. And -- [Jax sighs] Jax: Are you saying that Michael killed Claudia? [Woman vocalizing] Carly: Yeah.

Carly: Michael didn't mean to kill Claudia, you know. He was just trying to protect me and Josslyn. Jax: You said that he hit her? Carly: I was screaming for Josslyn when he came into the room. He had this piece of wood in his hand. He just hit her once. And she fell. He didn't intend to kill her. He just acted in the moment, Jax. Jax: Oh, that's exactly what you have to tell the police. Carly: I'm not going to tell the police. No one can know what happened tonight. [Jax sighs]
Carly: I'm not going to tell the police that Michael killed Claudia. You can't, either. You have to swear to me you're not going to say anything. Jax: Listen. What you described is not murder. It's involuntary manslaughter, ok? He entered the cabin. He heard you screaming. He picked something up. And he defended his mother. And that's it. Carly: That's right. I'm his mother. What judge and jury is going to believe me? I'm obviously a biased witness. Jax: But your story makes sense. Carly: And I'm supposed to just leave that up to the legal system. Jax: Yes, yes. In this case -- Carly: I'm just going to let it be their call -- Jax: Yes, in this case, you should. Plus, there was a restaurant full of witnesses that saw Claudia abduct you at gunpoint, which would back up your testimony. Carly: I can't take that chance. I can't take that chance. Jax: What are you saying? You want to try to cover this up? Carly: No. I -- I'm not going to let Claudia ruin Michael's future. She's dead -- Jax: Listen -- Carly: And it's over. Jax: Listen to me. Michael will most likely get a suspended sentence with a little bit of probation and counseling. But if you try to cover this up, the police are going to look for a murder, and that could be much, much worse for Michael down the line. Carly: That's not going to happen. Jax: And what about the psychological impact on Michael? He killed Claudia. I mean, he can't just put that behind him and move on. Your son needs help, Carly, and the only way he can get it is if you tell the truth.
Carly: Michael has suffered enough because of Claudia. I can't subject him to a police investigation. I can't do that. Jax: Claudia's disappearance will be investigated. Carly: Yeah, but they're going to talk to Sonny or Jason. They have no reason to think that Michael was involved. Jax: Unless they find evidence. Carly: They won't, because Sonny and Jason are covering it up. [Clatters] Jax: You know what? Despite of what Sonny and Jason told you, there is no way to commit the perfect crime. You know that. Carly: Well, they've never been more motivated than they are now. Jax: You are not -- you are not doing Michael any favors by going along with Sonny's plan. Carly: I'm trying to protect my son, Jax. Jax: Look, Michael has been confused since he came out of the coma, ok? He's trying to find somewhere to fit in. He's already attracted to Sonny's lifestyle, right? He asked you about his business and how he wanted to be a part of it. Carly: Sonny would never let that happen. Jax: Then how -- ok. How is this helping? What is he learning from this -- that if you have a problem, you cover it up? If you go along with Sonny on this, you're sending a message to Michael that it's ok to lie and cheat and cover things up. He's going to turn out just like his father. Carly: Michael knows better, ok? He knows better. Jax: How? Through words? Actions are so much louder, Carly. You think long and hard about this. How you handle Claudia's death will determine if Michael turns out like Sonny or he chooses the better life that you've always wanted for him.
Jax: Look, you went through hell when Michael got shot, blaming yourself for exposing him to Sonny's world, even though Sonny swore that he would never be a part of it. Carly: He won't be a part of it. Jax: Michael killed Claudia, ok? Covering it up is Sonny's way. It doesn't have to be yours or Michael's. Look, telling the truth will allow him to face what he has done and understand that he is not a killer who needs to hide from the law. [Footsteps] Williams: Mr. Jacks, Mrs. Jacks? I'm detective Williams. I'm here to take your statement. Carly: Come right in. Williams: I am sorry to intrude. How are you feeling? Carly: Surprisingly good. You know, a healthy baby pretty much eclipses everything else. Williams: About the everything else. What exactly happened, from your point of view? Carly: Uh, my ex-husband Sonny confronted Claudia in front of all of her guests at a party. He said that he had proof that she was behind the shooting of our son Michael. And she freaked out. She grabbed her purse and pulled out a gun. Then she grabbed me, and she took me hostage. At that point, I went into labor. And then, she forced me into a car that happened to be parked outside of the hotel. And she took off, and I begged her to stop and to let me go, but she wouldn't listen. And then, she just started talking crazy, you know? She said that she wanted to take my baby. So I had to stop her. So I freaked out, and I grabbed the wheel, and I was trying to force her to stop the car, and she wouldn't, and then, we crashed. Williams: And where did this happen? Carly: Route 86, about half a mile past broad river bridge.
Carly: It was pouring rain, and I could barely see, even with the flashlight, and then, I saw a cabin. I went in. I knew the baby was coming, so I gathered as much stuff as I could to help me. And then, I brought our beautiful little baby into this world. Williams: No one was with you? Carly: No. Sam showed up later, and she helped bring me and Josslyn to the hospital. Williams: So the last time you saw Claudia was... Carly: After the car crash, I, um, woke up, and she was unconscious in the front seat. I said her name, but she never moved, and I just wanted to get away from her. I wanted to take care of myself and my baby, so I just left her there. Williams: Do you have any idea what happened to Claudia? Carly: No. Williams: Did you see your ex-husband Sonny or Jason Morgan at any point? Did you call them, talk to them at all? Carly: No, I haven't seen them since I left the metro court. Williams: Well, I'm glad you and your baby are all right. Carly: Thank you. Jax: Wow. You just made a terrible mistake. Carly: I protected my son. Just like you protected your brother. You knew that Jerry was involved in Michael's shooting, but you never said a word to me. How could you do that? How could you lie to me?
Jax: I did not cover for my brother, ok? He sent me this ridiculous DVD about him confessing that he was in on a plot with Claudia to kill Sonny. Carly: When did you get it? Jax: The night we renewed our vows. Carly: You've known all this time? And you said nothing? Jax: We were so happy, and... I, um, we were just finally getting our lives back together after Sonny almost ruined -- Carly: Don't make this about Sonny, Jax. This is all about Jerry and you. Jax: I struggled with this decision, Carly... Carly: You decided to lie. Jax: It's not that simple, ok? Carly: I don't understand. We worked so hard to regain our trust. And we promised each other that we wouldn't manipulate each other or play any more games. And now I find out all this time, you've been lying to me? Jax: This is my biggest fear, that you would look at me and that you would see Jerry. I didn't want to lose you! Carly: You kept a secret. You knew who shot my son! Jax! Jax: I wanted to -- listen, I wanted to tell you everything, but then we found out that you were pregnant with a life-threatening condition, that the stress could kill you. What was I supposed to do, Carly? I couldn't dump that on you. I couldn't. [Knock on door] Jason: I was just checking on you and the baby. Jax: This is a bad time. Carly: No, I want to talk to Jason, I want to talk -- Jax: We need to finish this. Carly: I want to talk to him alone, and I want you to go. Jax: Fine. We'll talk about this later. [Sighs] [Carly sighs] Jason: Ok, Carly, what happened? Carly: He knew! He knew Claudia was dangerous and that Jerry was behind shooting Michael, and he said nothing. He said nothing! [Crying] Jason: Hey. Hi. Come here, I got you. I got you. There you go. That was good timing for you, because I think -- uh-huh, I think your mom really needs you right now, ok? There you go. Aww, there you go. Carly: Hi. [Kiss]

[Thunder] Carly: You're not going to take my baby! No, Claudia! Michael, you got to get your sister and help me get up. We gotta get out of here. Claudia: Come after me and I will kill her.
Jax: The boys need to stay here. They're worried about their mother. Sonny: That's why they need to be with me until she's rescued. Jason: Claudia was driving, she took Carly hostage, Carly went into labor. I understand that, Spinelli, but right now we have no idea where they are. Just be ready, please. Carly: Oh! [Thunder] Mac: 2008 Victory XL. Plate number? GFMO... Michael: I found the car that Claudia took mom in. It's wrecked. Jax: Do you have a lead? Is that why you're in a hurry to leave? Jason: No, I don't have a lead. I just want to go out there and look for Carly myself. Mac: You're not going anywhere, do you understand? The police are handling the search. I'm not gonna let you go out there to do your thing. I won't have Claudia wind up dead. Sonny: You bury Claudia good and deep, as close to hell as you can. This has to end tonight.
Jason: You feel better? Carly: Much. Much better. And you know what? I think it's time we make it official. Jason, this is your goddaughter, Josslyn John Jacks. Jason: Okay. Carly: Josslyn, this is Jason. Jason: Hi. Carly: Mommy's best friend, and he always comes and helps her out and saves her whenever she gets into trouble. And I'm sure he'll do the same thing for you whenever you get in trouble. Jason: Oh, listen. I just want to say that you did a great job last night. And you're really tough, just like your mom. There you go. Carly: Turns out my daughter and I aren't as fragile as everyone seemed to think. Jason: It was kind of a miracle. Dr. Lee said you could have died from the stress. Carly: A perfect excuse for not telling me everything, isn't it? Jason: Okay, you know I was trying to protect you. Carly: You know I need to know everything. Starting with how long you knew it was Claudia's fault that Michael got shot.
Jax: Carly's already been questioned by the police. Dominic: Was she telling the truth? Jax: As far as I know. Dominic: Did she leave anything out? Jax: You'd have to ask her that. Dominic: Come on, I'm trying to bring Sonny up on murder charges. Isn't that what you want? Jax: All right. Fine. Carly lied on her police statement. Dominic: What really happened? Jax: She grabbed the wheel, she caused the car crash, she left Claudia in the car unconscious. Dominic: Supposedly that was the last time Carly saw her. Is that true? Jax: No. She found her way to a cabin in the woods, she was gonna have the baby on her own, but then Claudia showed up. She actually helped her deliver our baby, and, uh, she saved Carly's life. Dominic: And what happened next? Come on, did Carly see who killed Claudia?
Jason: Where's Jax? Carly: He's not here. Where's Michael? Is he with Sonny? Jason: Yes. Carly: Okay, I need you to tell me everything. Jason: I took care of the evidence. There's gonna be nothing left to tie Michael to the scene. All we have to do is we need to stick to our story. Carly, you know what that is, right? The last time you saw Claudia was in the car, you left her there, you found your way to the cabin, had your baby alone. That's when Sam found you, took you and the baby -- Carly: I told that to the cops, I did, but it's not gonna do us any good if Michael confesses, just like he did when he thought he caused Claudia's accident. What are you guys gonna do about that? Jason: I'm not sure what's going on with Michael. Carly: You gotta talk to him. I mean, Claudia would have killed me and stolen Josslyn. I mean, he got there just in time, and I am not exaggerating. You have to talk to him. He didn't do anything wrong. Jason: That's why I am concerned, because he doesn't seem to be...upset. Carly: Are you sure? Maybe he's just telling you guys what you want to hear. Jason: I don't know. But I've been where Michael is. Taking -- taking a life is terrible, even if you feel justified. That's why I'm afraid for him. I mean, this kid should be torn up inside right now and he seems to be fine. Carly: Maybe he's in shock. Jason: That means he'll come crashing down...with no warning.
Jason: The night you found me at the warehouse on the anniversary of Michael getting shot. Carly: You've known all that time? Jason: No. But Ric showed up right after you left, and I suspected that he was the shooter for a long time, and I confronted him with it, and he said that Claudia hired Jerry and Devlin to shoot Sonny and Michael got hit instead. Carly: That's what happened? Jason: Yes, that's what happened, but I thought Ric was covering his tracks. But he swore to me that he had proof, that he had a DVD with Jerry on it explaining everything. Carly: Where would he get that? Jason: He had it in Sonny's house. Don't ask. I don't know. Jerry, I guess, hid a bunch to mess with Claudia. It was some kind of game. The DVD was blank. So Ric starts to freak out at Claudia and Sonny decides that -- Carly: Sonny knew? Jason: He knew that I suspected Claudia. Carly: Why didn't you tell me? Jason: Because I didn't have any proof, that's why. Sonny kept saying don't say a word until you have hard evidence. I could never come up with anything solid enough to even convince him. Carly: You know, Michael -- Michael remembered Jerry coming to visit him when he was in a coma. Jason: Yeah, Claudia went to see Michael, too. She and Jerry told him exactly what happened because they thought he'd never wake up. It's stupid. Carly: Yeah, and Michael didn't tell me because he didn't want to upset me. Did Jax know? Did he know? Jason: Yes, he knew. He knew that Jerry was involved. He asked me not to go after Jerry until you had the baby, but...Jerry came after me first. Carly: When? Jason: In Mexico. Carly: Oh, God. Jason: And I'm pretty sure Claudia told Jerry that Michael and Kristina ran away. Carly: She sent him after my son? Jason: It would have been a perfect way to shut him up. Carly: Did Jerry find them? Jason: Yes. But Sam diverted his attention. Jerry almost killed me. Look, it's a long story, but if it wasn't for Sam, I'd be dead right now. Carly: That's why it took you so long to come home. Jason: Right. Then finally, Sam and I found a recording that Devlin made of Claudia ordering the hit. It proves that she got Michael shot. So, I played it for Sonny right before the party. Carly: I can't believe you didn't tell me. I can't believe you didn't tell any of this. Jason: Carly, Carly, listen. I wish I would have handled this whole situation a lot better. But if I would have said something to you and something would have happened to you or your baby, I could not live with myself. Carly: I forgive you. I know. Jason: I'm sorry. Thank you. Carly: But the one person I can't understand... Jax.
Jax: It doesn't matter what Carly saw. She'll never testify against Claudia's killer. Dominic: But she knows who it is. Jax: Look, Claudia was gonna steal Carly's baby, okay? Somebody came in and saved them both. Dominic: Who showed up? Jax: I'm just glad that they both made it to the hospital on time. Dominic: Was Claudia dead or alive when they left? Jax: I'm sure Carly doesn't even know that. Dominic: [Sighs] All right, I'm -- I'm gonna read between the lines here, so you just stop me if I'm wrong. Jason showed up at the cabin with Sam. He sent her off with Carly and the baby. Jason either whacked Claudia himself or called Sonny in to do the honors, but he doesn't normally get his hands dirty. But these were, you know, special circumstances. Well, that would explain the bloody handprint on his shirt. Jax: What bloody handprint? [Doorbell rings] Sonny: I need to talk to you about Michael. What the hell are you doing here?
Dominic: I just wanted to touch base with Morgan, but he's already in school. Jax: For future reference, I don't need your thugs knocking at my door checking on my stepsons. Dominic: I'll let you two figure this out. Sonny: Okay, Michael's with me. You keep an eye on Morgan, 'cause that's I pay you to do. Dominic: Yes, sir. Jax: What do you want? Sonny: What do I want? I want to talk to you about what happened with Michael last night. Jax: I know Michael killed Claudia. You don’t have to lie. Turned him into a killer just like you, huh, Sonny? Sonny: Okay, he saved his mother and your baby girl. You should be grateful for that. Jax: Did it ever occur to you to take this to the authorities? Sonny: He could wind up in prison. I'm not gonna have that happen. Jax: It's involuntary manslaughter, okay? He'd get probation and a reduced sentence, so he could get on with his life. But now he'll never have that chance because you're gonna keep on covering for him. You're gonna destroy that kid's life, Sonny, just like you've destroyed every other innocent person who's ever had the pleasure of getting too close to you. Sonny: This whole travesty could have been prevented if you had just simply told the truth.
Olivia: Hey! Can't wait till I get my hands on your beautiful baby girl. Carly: She's in the nursery. She should be back any minute. Olivia: I can't believe you're out of bed already. Carly: What top do you think I should wear home from the hospital? Olivia: Don't tell me they're kicking you out of here after less than 24 hours. Where's Jax? Is he out screaming at Dr. Lee? Does she have any idea what -- Carly: Dr. Lee doesn't know. Olivia: Okay. I'm pretty sure I don't like the sound of that. Carly: Okay, so, wine or black? I want black. Olivia: I think you should be asking Jax, not me. Carly: That's not going to happen. Olivia: Wait a minute. You just had a miracle baby under circumstances that would kill any normal woman. You guys should be celebrating. Carly: Olivia, Jax knew the truth about who shot Michael. He lied to protect his brother, and he put my son in danger for months.
Olivia: Jax only wanted to protect you and the baby. That's why he didn't say anything. Carly: Jax got a DVD from Jerry before I found out I was pregnant, the day we renewed our wedding vows. Olivia: I know. I saw it. Not that day, but pretty soon after that. Carly: You knew? Olivia: I walked into his office one day when he was watching it. Carly: Why didn't you say anything to me? Olivia: Because, Carly, it wasn't my secret to tell. Carly: That's a load of crap, Olivia! You're a mother. I mean, if you didn't give a damn about our friendship, you should have told me from one mother to another. My God, you should have thought how you would feel if it was your son spending time with a woman who got him shot. Olivia: I am so sorry. Carly: You're sorry. God! Claudia sent Jerry after Michael in Mexico. Did you know that? Because Jax did. Jax put Michael's life at risk and you were standing next to him the whole time letting it happen because it wasn't your secret to tell?! Olivia: Jax was so torn up about the whole thing. He was so afraid, honey, that he was gonna lose you and lose the baby because Jerry was involved. Carly: My son's life was at risk! Olivia: Your life was at risk, too, and so was your baby's. He just wanted you to deliver the baby safely and then he was gonna tell you everything. Carly: So what about Michael? What about Michael? The whole time he was at risk. Olivia: Claudia was married to Sonny. Jason was there the whole time watching her every move, which we thought because of those two that Michael would be safe. Carly: It wasn't on you to risk my kid's life! It wasn't on Jax! My friend Olivia, who turns out to be no friend at all. Jax, who I just loved and trusted completely. Olivia: Don't -- Carly: Oh, my God. Olivia: Don't say that, Carly. You love him. Don't say it past tense. Carly: You know what? What if your son was in danger? What if your son was in danger because of a secret that could get him killed, and someone you loved and trusted knew about it but didn't say anything? Could you forget that?
Sonny: You love to hold yourself up as better than me. But for months, you knew that Claudia put Michael, a young boy, in that coma. You knew she was dangerous. You said nothing. You did nothing. Jax: Come on, Sonny, you married her. Don't blame me for bringing her into Michael's life. Sonny: None of that would have happened if I had known the truth. Jax: You didn't want to know the truth. It was a smart business move. Sonny: I needed 100% proof and you had it. Jax: Sonny, I was trying to protect Carly. Sonny: No, you were trying to protect your psycho brother. Jax: I wasn't protecting my brother. I was gonna tell Carly everything after the baby was born. Sonny: But you didn't! You didn't say anything. Which means you chose your psycho brother over Michael. Jax: That's not true. Sonny: You put my kids -- Jax: It's time for you to leave. Sonny: My kids in danger. I -- you know, it's not my business, but I don't know how she could ever forgive you. Jax: Oh, listen to you trying to shift the blame, huh? You're trying to avoid taking responsibility for your disaster of a life. And you're the one to blame for this. You're the one who backed Claudia into a corner at the party when you knew how dangerous she was. She would never have kidnapped Carly if it wasn't for your ridiculous speech. Sonny: Claudia would have never been in the picture if I had just known the truth! Jax: Yeah. Well, she's out of the picture now, isn't she? Because Michael saved his mother. And instead of helping Michael get through this the right way, you're dragging him into a cover-up that's going to destroy his life, Sonny. Sonny: I'm just trying to protect Michael. Jax: You're trying to feed your own ego, that's what you're trying to do. [Sighs] You're making Michael completely dependent on you, Sonny, by asking him to keep -- keep this secret. And again it's all about you. It's always about you. An innocent person who loves you is gonna take the fall.
Jax: Excuse me. Did Carly change rooms? Nurse: Oh, no, Mrs. Jacks checked herself out. She took the baby home.
Door opens] Morgan: Mom? Carly: Hi. Morgan: Mom's home! Hi! Carly: Hey. Morgan: Why aren't you in the hospital? Carly: Oh, Josslyn and I wanted to come home. Look at her. Morgan: She's so tiny. Carly: I know. Isn't she sweet? She's sleeping right now. How about this? Josslyn, this is your big brother Morgan. Morgan: Hi, little sister. Welcome home.
Morgan: We don't have everything quite ready yet. Carly: It's perfect. It's beautiful. Here, hold this for me. Hey, don't you think it's perfect, Josslyn? Don't you think it's perfect? Here you go. Morgan: Shouldn't we wait for Jax and Michael to get home? Carly: Oh, Michael will be home soon, and Josslyn and I are fine. And you're here. What could be better?
Carly: Well, I have like quite a few blankets that haven't come in yet, so they should be here soon. Morgan: Do you want us to pick up some cheesy snacks on the way home? Carly: I want you to pick up 2 bags. And we're gonna order pizza later. Morgan: Hi, Jax. Jax: Hey. Morgan: You missed the baby coming home. Jax: Yeah, I must have missed you guys at the hospital. Morgan: She's right upstairs. Do you want to go see her? Carly: I think Josslyn needs to sleep for a little while. Morgan: Well, here's the baby monitor. Take a listen. [Josslyn cooing] Jax: Wow. That's really cool, Morgan. Mercedes: We'd better get going. Morgan: We're just gonna go pick up some stuff. We won't take too long. Jax: I'm sure your mom appreciates it. Carly: I do appreciate it. Oops. Mmm. [Kiss] Bye-bye. [Josslyn cooing over monitor] Jax: How can you just leave the hospital without telling me? Carly: 'Cause I want to be here. Jax: Look, I know that you're angry, but please don't ever use our child to punish me. Carly: Don't use our child? After what you did to Michael? You sent him to live with the woman who put him in a coma, and for what? To protect your brother. Jax: I wasn't protecting my brother, okay? I know I made some serious mistakes, but I love Michael. Carly: No, you like to say you love Michael. But you didn't protect him when he needed to be protected. Jax: Well, we can protect him now. I think it's a huge mistake to make him keep the secret of how Claudia died. Carly: That's coming from the man who protected Jerry for months at Michael's expense. Yes. And the man... who knew Jerry went to Mexico and he almost killed Jason and he could have killed Michael. Jax: I was trying to protect you, Carly. Which part of that do you not understand? Carly: We were so happy and so close. But you're the same. You always have been. You expect and demand honesty from me, but you sat there and you lied to my face for months, Jax. Jax: I was trying to take care of my family, okay? I love Michael and Morgan as much as you do. Carly: No, you don't. Josslyn is your priority, and you will protect her at her brothers' expense, especially Michael. His life and his safety matters less to you than Josslyn's, but it doesn't matter less to me. I won't compromise my kids. Jax: Carly, listen to me. Carly: No. No! I want you to leave.

Carly: I can't do this with you right now. I can't. I don't have it in me to fight with you. You just need to go. Jax: No. I'm not gonna go until I explain everything to you. Carly: There's nothing you can say to me, Jax. If you would have told the truth, Michael might not have had to do what he did. He killed someone. My son killed someone. Jax: Yes, I know that. And it's okay for you to help Sonny and Jason cover it up? That is acceptable to you? Carly: You just stop. You just stop. I can't do this right now. Jax: What do you mean you can't do "this"? What are you talking about? Carly: Us! I don't wanna do us! Jax: You mean our marriage? Our life together? Our family? You wanna throw it all away because I lied to protect you? Is that what I'm hearing? What about all the times you lied to me and I forgave you? I mean, I even forgave you for cheating on me with Sonny.
Carly: That's what you're gonna come at me with? The fact that I slept with Sonny the night that we dropped our son off at a coma institute where we thought he was gonna spend the rest of his life? And why was he there, Jax? Why was he there in that bed for a year? Because Claudia and Jerry put him there. And you knew, damn it, and you didn't say anything.. Jax: Carly, listen to me. You were pregnant, with a condition that could have killed you and the baby, okay? Any amount of stress could have triggered a stroke. Let's not forget that. Carly: What about before that? What about before I got pregnant? Mm-hmm. Jax: Before that. You're right. I could have said something, but I needed time to figure it out, okay? I needed to process everything and how it would affect you and how it would hurt you. I thought I would -- I could lose you. Carly: You wouldn't have lost me if you would have told me the truth, Jax, because I am your wife. See, I would have forgiven you for that. Jax: Guess I made a bad choice. Carly: I'm also a mother, and the fact that you let Michael go live at Sonny's and be near Claudia after knowing that she did what she did, after knowing that she got him shot, how do I forgive that, Jax?
Jax: How can you accuse me of putting Michael in danger? That poor kid has been through more violence and trauma in his life than someone 10 times his age, okay? I didn't do that to Michael. I'm not my brother. Carly: What the hell does that have to do with you knowing who shot Michael and not telling me about it? Jax: I just explained that if you were even listening. Ah, fine, Carly. That's right. Make me out to be the bad guy, right? huh? Make it easy for Sonny. Carly: What the hell is that supposed to mean? Jax: What the hell is that supposed to mean? It means Sonny took Michael to the warehouse where he got shot, okay? Sonny married Claudia out of greed, and then he humiliated her in public, which ended up getting you and the baby kidnapped and almost killed. So, there. Carly: Okay, fine. You wanna make this about Sonny? Let's make it about Sonny... Jax: Yes, I wanna make this about Sonny. Carly: But don't forget one important thing. Jax: What's that? Carly: Sonny took action, within the hour of getting the proof that Claudia and Jerry were the one who shot Michael. He didn't sit on it for months, Jax. Jax: Wow. Carly: He didn't selfishly protect someone like you did. Jax: Why am I -- why am I surprised at this? Huh? After all the damage that Sonny has done, you're still protecting that son of a bitch. It’s really sad. Really sad.
Carly: Sonny has caused lots of problems for our family, and, yes, he's a nightmare to deal with sometimes, but he's never pretended to be anybody but who he is, unlike you. You come disguised. You promise to love me, and you promise to love my kids as your own. Jax: How can you question that? I've loved those kids exactly as if they were my own. Carly: Okay, Morgan maybe, but not Michael, because if you did, you would have never go let him live with Claudia. Jax: How the hell was I supposed to stop Michael from moving in with Sonny without telling you everything and risking your life? I was trying to make sure that the baby would be born safely, Carly. Carly: So it's okay to put Michael in harm's way because Josslyn's more important? Because that's what you're saying. Jax: No. You were more important. Carly: Would you let Morgan go live with Claudia? Would you let her baby-sit Josslyn? Jax: Of course not. Carly: No, but why is it okay for Michael? Jax: Because Michael's not a kid anymore, okay? He makes his own choices, and then he sticks with them. He's exactly like his father. Carly: Boy, and you hate that. Jax: I don't hate Michael. Look, this whole situation terrified me. Okay? I'm sorry. I don't have all the answers to everything all the time. And now Michael has killed someone, and you're so freaked out about it, you're taking all of your anger and frustration out on me.
Carly: So this is all because of Michael? And I'm handling it wrong because I'm taking it out on you? Are you kidding me? You don't get to do that. This is because of what you did, Jax, and the lies you told. Jax: Oh. Carly: You chose to protect your brother instead of protecting Michael. You kept taking chances with Michael's life every time you let him anywhere near Claudia, and those are chances you would never take with Josslyn. Jax: I handled the situation the best way I knew how, okay? Carly: The best way you knew how to protect your brother and your baby and no one else. Jax: How can you say that? How can you say that? Carly: Claudia could have killed me and the baby. You could have stopped that before it happened, and you didn't. You didn't stop it. Jax: Carly -- Carly: No, don't. Stop. I want you to -- I want you to leave. Jax: What? Carly: I want you to leave. Jax: No. I'm not going anywhere. This is our house. Carly: Okay, fine. You don't have to go. You don't have to go. You know what? I'll go. I'll go get our daughter, and I'll take her out of the nursery, and I'll take her, you know, somewhere else, but I don't wanna stay here with you. Jax: Okay. Fine. I'll go.
Alexis: Oh. Jax: Hey. Alexis: Hi. I got your message. Uh-oh. What happened? Jax: Well, you know I dreamed about the day that Carly and I would bring our little girl home from the hospital, that we would just sit there with her holding her. Sonny's managed to ruin all that. Alexis: Oh. You told Carly, and she's pissed, right? Jax: Yeah. Actually, she kicked me out of the house. Alexis: Now? She kicked you out of the house now? Jax: Yes. I was, uh -- look, I realize that I made a terrible mistake by not telling her right from the start, okay, and I was trying to explain myself, but it all came out wrong, and I didn't even get the chance to apologize. Alexis: Aw, honey, I'm sorry. Jax: Carly went on and on about how I put Michael's life at danger for letting him live with Claudia. She thinks that I chose my daughter's safety over her own son's. Alexis: Hmm. Jax: What? Alexis: I don't normally agree with Carly. You know that I hate agreeing with Carly, but in this instance, Jax, it's kind of hard for me not to see her point. And I -- I know that you had the best intentions. I do know that, and I honestly -- I don't wanna make you feel any worse than you already do, but you should know that what you did would be hard for any mother to understand.
Carly: This isn't how your first day home should be. Your daddy should be here. He loves you so much. And I hope no matter what happens, you love him, too. We just had a bit of a disagreement. I just need him to love you and your brothers the same. That's what daddies are supposed to do, right? Yeah. [Door opens] Jane: Yoo-hoo. Hello. Ohh. Carly: Hello. Jane: There she is. Carly: Here she is. Jane: Oh, look at you, all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. Carly: Yeah, she is. She's looking at you. Jane: You're a proper little Jacks, aren't you? And I'm your grandmum. Oh, I'm very pleased to meet you. Oh, she's beautiful. And where might her daddy be?
Jax: It's classic Carly, you know. She's upset, so she's over-exaggerating everything. Alexis: You know what I think? I think you both should stop it and focus on your new baby right now. Jax: I agree with you 100%, but she threatened to take Josslyn and move out of the house if I didn't leave, so what was I supposed to do? Alexis: She's not gonna do that. She can't do that, Jax. She just needs a minute to process this, you know, to just cool down a little bit. Hell, you'd think she'd want a few days of normalcy after everything she's been through. Jax: Yeah. Alexis: Are you sure this is the whole story? I mean, is there anything else that Carly could be upset about? Oh, boy. Okay. Why don't you just tell me? Jax: There are secrets, okay? There are other secrets, big ones, and if they ever come out, I don't think Carly would ever forgive me. Alexis: Just how messy is this gonna get?

Jane: Finally a baby girl in the family. Oh, she is beautiful! The image of Jax when he was a newborn. Now, speaking of her daddy, where is he? It's hard for me to imagine that he could steal himself away from his little miracle baby. Carly: I asked Jax to leave. I can't live with a man who lies to me.
Jax: I didn't lie, ok? I simply wanted to withhold the truth until after the baby was born. Alexis: Under the circumstances, I can see why Carly didn't make that distinction. Jax: Well, I made the best choice I possibly could at the time. I thought I was helping Carly and the baby. Alexis: Well, Josslyn's here safe and sound, and you both should be taking care of her right now. Jax: Yeah. It's now my job to keep her safe and away from Sonny. Alexis: Good luck with that, and let me know how that works for you. Why do I have the feeling that I'm not just here as your friend to unload on? Jax: I love Carly with all my heart, but if our marriage doesn't work out, my daughter has to come and live with me.
Jane: I can hardly imagine how horrible this has been for you, first to be taken hostage by that monstrous woman and then finding a safe place in a storm to give birth to this precious child. I don't know why Jax didn't tell me. Carly: Well, I don't think he wanted to worry you. Jane: Things you've been through, Carly, these past 2 years, first with Michael and then with this precious baby. It's every mother's worst nightmare. But look at you. You're so strong, such courage. And now in the end, you have all of your children here with you and safe, every reason for Jax to be even more glued to your side. Carly: You should sit down. We need to talk. Jane: Why do I get the feeling that I'm about to hear Jerry's name? What has my firstborn done now? Carly: The man who shot Michael was hired by Claudia Zacchara. Jerry was his accomplice. Sonny was the target. They missed. Jane: I didn't think Jerry could get any worse. How could he be involved in this horror? How could he be a party to the shooting of an innocent boy, his own brother's stepson? Carly: Well, apparently around he time Jax and I renewed our wedding vows, Jerry sent Jax a DVD with a full confession. I still wouldn't know the truth if Sonny hadn't confronted Claudia, but then she freaked out, she pulled out a gun, and she grabbed me, and she took me hostage. And none of this would have happened if Jax would have told the truth. Jane: Oh, Carly, I realize you're angry and upset, and I must say I cannot blame you one bit. I could only imagine how betrayed you feel. Carly: Yeah. Jane: But you must realize that Jax's only motivation was to protect you and the child.
Jane: I wanted to come when I heard you were having problems with your pregnancy. I thought I could be helpful, but Jax said you needed to avoid stress, and I remembered my relationship with my own mother-in-law, and I loved her dearly, but we couldn't be in the same city for more than 48 hours without wanting to kill one another. Carly: Yeah. I know. I'm really glad you're here. Jax got that DVD from Jerry a full month before I found out I was pregnant, and he didn't say anything to me, so he decided to protect Jerry over our marriage. Jane: Jax was afraid of losing you. And I believe you can find it in your heart to forgive him. Carly: Jerry's involvement isn't Jax's fault. Jane, I can't get past the Claudia part. When Michael woke up from his coma, he went to live with Sonny, and he was around that horrible woman all the time, and Jax said nothing. He said nothing, he did nothing, and he didn't warn me. Ok, you're a mother. Could you forgive a man you loved who put your kids in harm's way?
Jax: Mom, am I glad to see you. Jane: Words every mother loves to hear. Jax: Come in. Jane: Speaking of, you've got yourself a beauty, Jax. Now, I may be a bit biased, but Josslyn is exceptional. Jax: I know. She's beautiful, mom. I miss her. How's Carly? Jane: Well, she seemed happy to see me, especially since her own mum is out of town. Jax: She say anything? Jane: You mean about how she threw you out on your ear? Jax: Yeah. Jane: I knew it was bad when she told me to brace myself. Your brother. I cannot believe that Jerry was involved in Michael's shooting, and I understand why you kept it from Carly. Jax: Well, Carly doesn't. Jane: Well, Carly's a mother. It's hard for her to accept that you let Michael live under the same roof with the woman who tried to kill him. Jax: You know what? What everyone seems to be forgetting is the fact that Michael wanted to live with his father, ok, and he was very angry at Carly at the time. Actually, he was angry at just about everyone. Jane: Well, that is all very well and good, but you kept a huge secret from your wife. Jax: It was because the truth could have killed her. Jane: Oh, that defense is a crucial mistake, sweetheart. It is silly to defend what you did when the wiser choice is to beg for forgiveness.
Morgan: Wait till you guys see the cool stuff me and Mercedes got for Josslyn. Is she upstairs? Is Jax with her? Carly: Um, Jax is gonna be away awhile. Morgan: Did he have to go away on business again? Can't he send someone else? Carly: We decided that, um -- well, that we're gonna spend some time apart. Morgan: Doesn't make any sense. You guys just had the baby. Jax wouldn't leave. Carly: I asked him to leave. Sit down. This is a little complicated, ok, and I just need you to know that it has nothing to do with you or Josslyn. This is between me and Jax. Morgan: You can't make Jax go. I want him here. We need him. Carly: I know, and I know this is upsetting for you. Morgan: You always do this! You always mess everything up for everyone else! Carly: Morgan! [Doorbell rings] Jason: Hey. Is this a bad time? Carly: Yes, it's a bad time. Jason: What --
Jane: You surprise me, Jax, a man with your charm and intelligence. How is it you don't know what a woman needs to hear? Jax: Well, I tried to reason with Carly. Jane: Oh, dear lord. You're going for reason and logic when what Carly needs to hear is that you love her and you're sorry. Jax: I told her I was sorry. Jane: Well, did you tell her you would move heaven and earth for her? Did you say that there is nothing you wouldn't do for Carly and her children, all of her children? Jax: Mom, she knows that, ok? That is the foundation of our relationship. Jane: Well, now is the time for you to do what men so seldom can. Admit you were wrong, whether or not you believe it. Beg Carly for her forgiveness. Remind her of everything you have together and of everything you want to give to Josslyn and Morgan and Michael. Jax: Ah, Carly seems to think that what I did was unforgiveable, so no amount of groveling is gonna change that. Ok? Jane: So what, you're giving up? Jax: Well, she kicked me out of the house, mom. What am I supposed -- Jane: Well, then you find a way to get back in. Use all the talents God gave you, that your father and I taught you. Now you get creative. You have no choice here, Jax. Your family is at stake.
Jason: I know that you've been through a lot, but you gotta keep it together. You gotta stay strong, especially for your kids, Michael more than ever. Carly: Oh, God, did something else happen? What's going on? Jason: No, no, nothing happened. I just think this covering up Claudia's death just reinforced all the bad choices I've made for Michael over his life and asking him to keep this murder a secret might have been a mistake. Carly: That's what Jax said. He said we should go the police and tell them the truth.
Carly: I asked Jax to leave today. Whatever. I can't get -- can't think about that right now. I have to focus on Michael. So we gotta -- we have to go to Sonny's house. We have to bring him back here. Jason: I agree. I think he should be here, too. Carly: What about the police? We could tell 'em where Claudia's body's buried. I could tell 'em. I mean, I know the cabin is burned and there's no evidence, but, you know, an autopsy would support what happened. We could tell 'em everything. We could talk to a lawyer, figure out what Michael should plea, should he plea involuntary manslaughter or self-defense. Jason: I mean, even if we can get him a suspended sentence or community service, this kid is gonna be known as the kid who killed his stepmother. Carly: God. Jason: We're never gonna be able to keep this quiet. Carly: I know. And the media will have a field day. He'll be known as the mobster's son that got away with murder. They'll camp out at the courthouse and on the front lawn. I can handle that, but I can't put my kids through that. Jason, I don't want Michael to get sucked up in Sonny's world. We have to go get him, and we have to bring him home.
Carly: Hey, Max. Is Michael there? Max: He's upstairs. Carly: Yeah? Well, tell him to pack his things. I'm coming to get him. Max: Does the boss know? Carly: He'll know when I get there. [Doorbell rings] Alexis: Hi. Carly: This is a bad time. Alexis: Oh, it won't take long. I promise. Carly: I'm serious, Alexis. You got five minutes. I have somewhere really important I have to go. Alexis: All right, so I shouldn't ask you how you are or how the new baby is? Carly: I'm fine. Josslyn's beautiful. We're all amazing, great. Alexis: I heard you kicked Jax out of the house. Carly: He called you. Alexis: Course he called me. I'm his best friend. He needed someone to talk to. He's very upset about you and the baby. He wants to come home, and I'm hoping that you will just take a step back, because he'd really love you to compromise, especially with a new baby in the house. Carly: Yeah, if we're gonna involve a third party, it's not gonna be you. Alexis: Well, good news. Don't care, as long as it's someone. Carly, this is not the time to dig your heels in. He loves you, and I love my friend, and I don't want him hurt. Carly: Ok, here's a question. When Jax called you and decided to dump all of our personal business on you, was it because you're a dear friend, or did he need a custody attorney? [Door closes]
Jax: Jason. I was wondering if we could talk. Do you have a minute? I want you understand that I fully intended to tell Carly about Claudia as soon as the baby was born, but Sonny beat me to it. Jason: Yeah. Well, I don't think Sonny knew that Carly was in the room when he unloaded on Claudia. Jax: Well, doesn't really matter now. The truth is out. Carly decided that I put Michael in danger, when the truth is I was trying to protect her and the baby. Jason: That's one way to look at it. Jax: Well, your hands aren't exactly clean in this either. I mean, you kept almost as many secrets as I -- Jason: I only suspected what you knew for sure. Jax: All right. Ok. We both want what's best for Carly, though, right? That would mean Carly with me and Michael and Morgan and our little girl together as a family. Jason: That's up to Carly. Jax: Yeah, I know. Look, you know her better than anyone, Jason, ok? What do you think she wants? Jason: I think she wants to be able to trust you. Jax: Do you really think with everything that's going on in her life, she needs her marriage to fall apart? Be the friend that you say you are. Talk her down, ok? She doesn't want this breakup any more than I do.

Carly: Wow, no grass growing under his feet, huh? Alexis: He needed a friend to talk to. Carly: About what? Divorce? Alexis: Of course not. Carly: Last time we split up, you represented him. Alexis: I would not get in the middle of a divorce between the two of you right now. I'm here as a friend. Carly: You're Jax's friend. You're not my friend. Alexis: Carly, you just had baby. If you go through some sort of a custody battle, that would be the most ridiculous -- Carly: Jax came to you about custody of our daughter?
Jax: All I'm asking is that you talk to Carly. Help her understand why I kept quiet about my brother's involvement in Michael's shooting. Jason: This is between you and Carly. Jax: I wouldn't be here if I wasn't desperate to save my marriage, right? Carly respects you, Jason. You're the one person who's advice she actually listens to. So if you ask her to reconcile with me, she may just consider it. Jason: Jax, I understand that, but I am done telling Carly what to do. I talked her into going back to sonny more than once, and look at the damage it's caused.
Jax: You can't honestly be comparing me to sonny. Jason: Ok, I'm just saying that this is Carly's decision. I'm staying out of it, Jax. Jax: All right, what about Carly's children, Jason? Shouldn't you speak on their behalf? Come on. I mean, because of sonny, Michael and Morgan have been shot at, kidnapped and almost killed. Ok, but I don't need to tell you that, because you've witnessed it firsthand. Jason: Hey, you think you can protect Carly's kids, you need to tell it to her. Jax: I've tried, but she won't listen. Jason: Then it's out of my hands. Jax: Look, Carly's too upset to think clearly. And she's too stubborn to change her mind. I'm worried about her, Jason. Jason: Michael's the one that I'm worried about right now, because the kid's in a lot of trouble from a situation that we all helped create. Now if Carly has a problem with your part in this, Jax, that's her right. And if you want to get her back, you need to convince her that you're equally concerned about all of her kids, including Michael.
Alexis: Jax doesn't even know I'm here. Carly: Right. You came to talk to me out of the goodness of your heart because you and I are so close. Alexis: I came here because Jax loves you, and he is devastated that he isn't at home with you right now. Carly: You know what, that's Jax's fault. Alexis: May I sit down? Because my feet really hurt. Carly: Sure. Alexis: Thanks. You and I both know that his intentions were good. Carly: Jax did not warn me that Claudia was the one who had Michael put in a coma. Michael was at risk every single time he went to sonny's house. Now you tell me, Alexis -- could you be so forgiving if it were one of your daughters? Alexis: I honestly don't know. Carly: Right. Alexis: But I would hope, after I had time to process it, that I would realize his motives were benign, because he was, in fact, trying to protect you and your baby. Carly: I know that. But he put Michael in danger to protect Josslyn. Alexis: Carly, if you're going to look for ways to make Jax wrong, you will have no trouble doing that. Carly: He was wrong! Alexis: We've established that. Wow, you're stubborn. Let me ask you something. Do you still love your husband? Carly: I love Jax more than anything, but I don't know if I can forgive him. Alexis: Then take some advice from my bitter experience -- the more entrenched you get in who's right and who's wrong, the more you're going to lose your common ground. And at some point, it will be gone, and then you will find yourself in divorce court. Carly: Ok. Today, right now -- I need space, and I need time. Alexis: Ok. Fair enough. But during that time, I'm going to ask that you try to focus on Jax's finer qualities, and there are many. Because he's a wonderful person. He's made you very happy. You've had a wonderful marriage up till now. Don't mess it up. [Carly sighs]
Jax: I love Michael and Morgan as if they were my own. Jason: I don't think Carly agrees. Jax: [Sighs] Look, Josslyn's just a baby, ok? Morgan's a little boy, and Michael is a young man who's capable of making his own decisions. And in fact, he's asked not to be treated like a child. Jason: Well, Michael doesn't always know what's best for him. Jax: That's an understatement. Since Michael came out of the coma, he's repeatedly asked to spend more time at Sonny's. Jason: If you'd spoken up, Claudia wouldn't have been an issue. Jax: I knew that you were watching her every minute of the day, Jason. I knew that she wasn't a threat to Michael. Jason: Well, except the fact that when Michael and Kristina ran away, Claudia hired jerry to go after them. Jax: I didn't know jerry was going to be in Mexico. Jason: We're wasting our time here, ok? You're wasting your breath. I don't know what to say. You need to convince Carly, not me. Jax: I know that, I know that, but you can help, ok? She doesn't want our marriage to fall apart. Michael needs a stable home; an alternative to sonny's way of life. I'm not asking you to lie, Jason. I'm not asking you to say something that you don't believe. I'm really asking that you -- [Door opens] Carly: Jason, Jax went to Alexis -- what are you doing here? Don't tell me that you're trying to get Jason to work me for you.
Carly: You're trying to use Jason to convince me that you're right and I'm wrong? Jax: You know, maybe we should stop using labels like right and wrong. Carly: You're wrong. It was wrong to lie to me, and now you're going behind my back to manipulate me into forgiving you when I can't. You put Michael at risk. Jax: Sonny puts Michael at risk, ok? So does Jason. And so do you. First by being with sonny, and now by insisting that Michael cover up what really happened to Claudia. Carly: You always do this. You always shift the blame. Jax: Tell me that it hasn't crossed your mind that maybe it would have been smarter to go to the police and tell them the truth instead of making Michael go along with this cover-up. Maybe it would be better if Michael just dealt with the consequences. Carly: Michael killed Claudia to protect me and his little sister. Why'd he have to do that?! Jax: By covering this up, you're handing Michael over to a life in the mob. And you're blaming me for trying to protect my family. Sorry I wasted your time. Carly: Don't. Don't look at me like that.
Carly: This is really hard. This is so hard, because Jax is so wonderful. And he was so loving and he was so supportive when I was pregnant. And he made me wonderful meals and he took care of me and he was so concerned and terrified about my condition, and he was so worried something was going to happen to me. And everything was ok. You know, everything was fine. And when we got through it great. And then the night she's born, I find out about all the lies. Everything. Jason: I'm sorry about that, Carly. Carly: What if I can't get past this? What if I can't forgive him? Jason: If you want to, you're going to find a way to do it. Carly: [Sighs] Oh, god. I thought Jax was the best thing that ever happened to me. I love him so much. And you know me, when I have something good, I just pick up a sledgehammer and I destroy it. Jason: Nothing's being destroyed yet. Carly: [Sighs] Jason. I mean, is it really so bad? Is this really that bad, or am I just being stubborn? Jason: Well, that's for you to decide. Carly: Please stop. Stop being so reasonable. I need you to tell me what to do. Jason: No, I'm not going to tell you what to do, because every time I told you to go back to Sonny's -- I was wrong. I'm not going to talk you into anything. Carly: Ok. Well, my main concern right now is Michael. I gotta take care of my kid. I want to go to Sonny's, and I'm going to bring him home. Tonight.
Carly: So where's Michael? Max: He's upstairs, Mrs. J. Carly: All right, I'll go get him. Max: You know, the boss isn't here. He might not like it if you -- Carly: Michael! If sonny has a problem with it, he can come to my house, we can hash it out there. Max: If this is about what Milo and I did, you know, we weren't going to hurt the kid, honest. Carly: Hurt who? What are you talking about? Max: Kiefer, that little punk Kristina's been dating. Michael wanted us to shake him up a little bit, you know, put the fear of god in him. But that's all we did. We did not touch -- Carly: Michael, get down here, please. Michael: Yeah, mom, what's going on? Why aren't you at home with Josslyn? Carly: You and I are going home together. Michael: No, wait. I'm staying here with dad. Carly: I'm your mother, and I need you home with me. Michael: Look, I don't belong there, and you know it. Carly: That's not true. Michael: I killed Claudia. Dad understands why I did it. He says he's proud of me for protecting my family. [Carly sighs] Max: You can discuss it with the boss after all. Mr. C. Just pulled into the driveway.

Sonny: What are you doing here? How come you're not in the hospital? How's the baby? Carly: She's perfect. Thanks for asking. Sonny: How come you're not letting people take care of you? Who let you out of the hospital? Carly: Nobody let me out. Sonny: Okay, you checked yourself out. Carly: Look. I'm fine, but Michael's in trouble, and I want him to come home with me tonight. Sonny: I don't think that's a good idea.
Carly: The night Claudia died, everything happened so fast. By the time the baby and I were safe, that cover-up solved all the immediate problems, but we really didn't think it through. Sonny: I did. I made the decisions I had to protect Michael. Carly: And you think you're protecting Michael? Sonny: He's not in jail. He's not questioned by the cops. I'm gonna help him get past this. I don't want him dragging this around for the rest of his life. Carly: I know, but we have to think about this another way, you know? When Claudia got killed, she was trying to steal my baby. Michael wasn't trying to kill her. It was an accident. It was a brave kid protecting his family. That's it. Sonny: He shouldn't have to suffer for that. Carly: But what about his guilt? Or his anger? Sonny: Okay, I've been where he is. I'm gonna talk to him about it. Carly: Okay. But I know the evidence has been destroyed, but just maybe he could get justifiable homicide or self-defense if we talk to someone Sonny: If Michael cops to this, he's a target. Things are tense right now. Anthony's people will try to take him out. I'm not gonna let that happen! Carly: All right. Sonny: Deep down inside, Michael doesn't think he did anything wrong. Carly: That's -- he's just telling us what we want to hear. You know that's lie. That's how he's dealing with his guilt. He's telling himself that Claudia deserved it! Sonny: She did. I'm not saying killing anyone is right, and I wish somebody else had done it. But Claudia's life was over the instant she got Michael shot. Carly: Claudia has hurt that kid enough. Don't let the way she died convince him that he only is good for a life in the mob, Sonny. Sonny: I'm not gonna let him in the business. You know that. He knows that-- Carly: I know you would feel that way, and you're telling me that, and you're just trying to protect him. But you said yourself when you got started, it was so early that by the time you wanted to get out, it was too late. You had no other choices. And I don't want that to happen to Michael. Sonny: I don't want that, either. Carly: Then he needs to come home with me. Hell, I can give him somewhat of a normal life. I can make sure he knows he has other options. Sonny: I'm not saying I never want him moving back in with you. But I've been where he is. I can help him. After what Michael's been through, he needs his father more than ever.
Carly: You know, I don't want to have to remind you, but legally, I could go upstairs, and I could take Michael home if I wanted to. Sonny: You brought me back in their lives 'cause they needed me. Carly: They do. And I know you need them, and I would never do that to you again. Sonny: You know what? You need to discuss this with your husband, because he went off about the custody the night that Claudia grabbed you and I wanted to take the boys home with me. Carly: You wanted to take the boys home with you? Sonny: Because I felt they... needed their father and not Jax. So, Jax and I had an argument. And he brought up the custody card right in front of the boys. So, I left against my better judgment. That's why Michael got in the car, he went into the storm, 'cause he was upset about the argument. So, none of this would have happened if Jax had just let me take the boys with me. But, you know... look. Michael killed Claudia. That's my responsibility, not Jax's. He's just, you know, he's just trying to take my place. Carly: He's -- he's not trying to take your place. Sonny: Well, you see, he can't love the boys... as much as I do. Okay? And that's just the way that goes. Carly: We're getting off track. Sonny: No. I'm just -- look. Michael -- we have a connection. And it's not gonna be broken, no matter what happens. And he can't take that away from me. Carly: Okay. I know. But right now, I'm trying to break the cycle of violence that Michael has seen since he was a little boy. Hell, no wonder why he thinks the only life for him is a life in the mob. Sonny: I told you, that's not gonna happen. Carly: I don't understand how you're going to prevent it if he stays here. Sonny: I don't even know why we're even having this conversation right now. Let's just stop. [Carly sighs] Sonny: You got a baby girl at home. You know what? Come on. You just went through a terrible experience that would have probably killed anybody else. And just -- look. Go home. Be with your little girl. Love her. I will get Michael through this. Carly: I know your intentions are there. I am just really worried about-- Sonny: Okay. Listen. You love -- you love Michael. Carly: Yeah. [Sniffling] Sonny: He loves you more than anything. Sometimes, you gotta do what you think is best. And that's what I gotta do as a father.
Jax: Hi. Carly: Ohh. I don't have it in me to fight with you. I told you I didn't want you here. Jax: Well, I don't want to be separated from our daughter. So... Carly: It's totally different when it's your kid, isn't it? Jax: Oh, come on, Carly. You know that it was never my intention to put Michael at risk. Carly: I am so sick of intentions. I don't--I don't really care about intentions anymore, because Michael didn't intend to kill Claudia, but he did. And Claudia, well, she didn't intend to shoot Michael and put him in a coma for a year, but she did. Oh, and Sonny--Sonny has really good intentions. See, he intends to take care of Michael, but instead, he's messing everything up, and he won't listen to me any more than you will. So, so much for intentions. [Door closes]
Jax: Last thing I want is to be like Sonny. I don't want to make your life more difficult. I should have told you about the DVD the moment it arrived. Carly: But you didn't. Jax: [Sighs] Look. I want what's best for Michael and Morgan and for Josslyn, all three of them-- Carly: Wanting what's best for them and providing it are 2 totally different things. Sonny genuinely wants what's best for Michael, but he's too messed up to see what Michael really needs. Jax: Michael needs a stable home with 2 parents who love each other, and we can give him that, Carly. Carly: You sure about that? Jax, you just proved to me that you're willing to lie and keep secrets, as long as it's justified in your mind. Jax: I was wrong, okay? I'm sorry. We've already... missed a day that we should have been spending with our daughter. I hope that Michael comes home, and I hope that we can all get back to how it was before. You know? But if we can't, I just want you to know that I'm on your side, okay? No matter what happens. I love you. I love you very much. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you.
Jax: You know, we're wasting precious time. The first few days of our daughter's life is her chance to really bond with us. I don't want to miss that time. I mean, we'll never get it back. Carly: She needs you as much as she needs me. And Morgan doesn't want you to go. So, if you want to stay, I won't fight you. But you have to sleep in the guest room. Jax: If that's the compromise, I'll take it. Okay? For now. Carly: Don't assume this is all gonna work out, Jax, because I'm not sure. Jax: I nearly lost you. But now here we are. You and our daughter are safe, and I'm grateful for that. We can build on that. [Cell phone rings] [Sighs] [Carly sighs] [Ring] Carly: What's up, Sonny? Sonny: You can come pick up Michael. [Click]
Jax: Daddy's waited a long time for this, Josslyn -- finally bring you home. I'm glad that your mommy didn't fight me on this, you know, that she didn't keep me away from you. Heh heh heh. But I'm afraid that the real fighting is yet to come. You see, mommy's ex-husband is a very dangerous man. And people that get too close to him get hurt. Yeah. That's right. [Sighs] But Dominic... that's a child that Sonny doesn't even know he has -- is gonna put him behind bars. Then it'll be better for everyone. Yeah.

Carly: Didn't I promise you that everything was gonna be okay? Heh. I did. I told you that I was going to bring you into this world, that tons of people would love you, like your brother, Michael. Yep. He took care of us, and now it's time for us to take care of him. Michael: See you later. Carly: Hey. Where you going? I don't want you going to Sonny's. I don't want you going to his home or his office. Michael: What's the matter, Mom? You afraid that he's gonna send me off to blow up some Zaccharas?
Carly: Why do you say that? You're not a killer. Michael: If Claudia could weigh in, I'm sure she'd have a different take. Carly: That night in the cabin, Claudia finally lost her grip on reality, Michael. She was a direct threat to me and your just-born sister. You acted in our defense. It was an accident. You didn't mean to kill her, and every time you say different, you risk self-incrimination. You know these walls have ears in this town. Someone's gonna take you at face value, and they're gonna turn you in or worse. Michael: Which might be momentarily inconvenient, but in the end, it doesn't matter. There's no proof that I killed Claudia. There's no evidence of Claudia at all. Dad made sure of it. The only reason I'm free and clear is because I have Sonny Corinthos for a father. So just don't worry about it, Mom. It's taken care of. Try and explain. You know, I've grown up. I make my own decisions and live with the consequences. The sooner we all accept that, the better we'll get along. Carly: That kid doesn't have a clue, and it scares the hell out of me.
Jax: Thanks for letting me put Josslyn to sleep. Carly: How's the diaper changing going? Jax: I love it. Carly: Not many fathers would say that. Jax: Well, I'm not many fathers, am I? Carly: No, you're not. Jax: This is how it should be, Carly. Don't you feel it? I mean, you and I together focused on nothing but Josslyn's first days. Carly: Yeah. But, you know, a lot's been goin' on, Jax. Lot of things going on around us. And then there's Michael. I'm so worried about him, and I think you're right. I think that I made a big mistake by trying to cover up everything that happened with Claudia, so last night, I went to Sonny's, and I was trying to talk to Sonny about going to a lawyer and turning Michael in. Jax: No. No, you can't.
Carly: I don't understand. Why the change of heart? You were the one that said that we made a huge mistake by not letting Michael confess to killing Claudia. Jax: Okay, that was when this mess first started, okay. It's too late now. Carly: How so? Jax: Because Sonny and Jason eliminated all the evidence that Claudia's death was accidental. It's gonna look like murder now, and there's a good chance that Michael would go to prison. No one can ever find out what happened to Claudia. Carly: God, you're right. I can't even think right now. Can you watch Josslyn? Jax: Sure I can. Where are you going? Carly: I gotta pick up a prescription from the pharmacy. Jax: Are you sure about that, or are you going to accidentally bump into Michael?
[Doorbell rings] Dominic: Hi. Can we talk? Jax: Sure. Carly and the boys are out. Dominic: If called upon, can you testify that Sonny was wearing the same gray silk shirt he had on at Claudia's party later that night? Jax: Does it matter? Dominic: I walked in on Sonny burning his own clothes later on. I managed to get a handful of ashes from the fireplace, sent them to forensics. Turns out they found a piece of Sonny's shirt, complete with his DNA and Claudia's blood. Jax: Then what the hell are you doing here, talking to me, huh? You got enough evidence, arrest the son of a bitch already and get this over with. Dominic: You know what? It's not that easy, okay? Jax: I don't really like what I'm hearing. Quit stalling and do your job. Carly: What job might that be?

Carly: Why are you so angry with Dominic? Jax: Because Dominic has been neglecting his responsibilities, and if he doesn't step it up soon, he'll be taken off the job.
Dominic: You know, I don't work for you. I do my job my way, and if you don't like it, well, that's not my problem. Carly: He's right. He doesn't answer to us. He answers to Sonny. And after how he saved Morgan at the carnival and rescued Lulu from freezing water, I think he's doing his job, Jax. Jax: Okay, I'm not arguing that. I'm just -- he's supposed to be guarding Michael and Morgan, and I haven't seen much of that lately. I'm merely pointing that out, okay? I get to do that even though he doesn't answer to me. Dominic: Oh, I guess you're unaware, but Sonny's reassigned me, which means I no longer get to watch over the boys. Carly: He wouldn't pull security without telling me. Dominic: Look, they're okay. They're being watched 24/7. They're in good hands. Excuse me. Carly: What's really goin' on? Why are you so mad, and why are you takin' it out on Dominic?
Jax: I'm stressed, I'm angry, and I'm not good at hiding it. Carly: This about me? Jax: You know, in the last week alone, I watched you taken hostage by a crazy woman. I couldn't do a damn thing about it. I couldn't rescue you. I was worried that I might lose you and the baby. And if that wasn't bad enough, my stepson killed a woman, and I'm forced to cover it up, I've been kicked out of my bedroom, and I'm told that my marriage might fail. And every one of those events can be laid at Sonny's feet. Carly: Why -- stop making this about Sonny. We have to focus on us. Jax: Tell me how. How can I save my family when you constantly give over control to your ex-husband so that he can decide what's best for us? Carly: That is not true, Jax, at all. Jax: Sonny married the woman that shot his son, okay, not because he loves her, but because it made good business sense. Carly: I don't understand why you're making this about Sonny? Jax: Because he infiltrates every aspect of our lives, but not Josslyn. I'm gonna keep Sonny away from our little girl.
Carly: Hey. Think Michael got about 3 of these when he was just a baby. Jason: Yeah. Michael loved his giraffe. That's for sure. Carly: Things never turn out the way you plan, huh? Jason: Well, maybe you can use a good surprise for a change. Carly: I could. I'd love it. Jason: Okay, well, I can't get into too much detail, but there's been an unexpected shift, and I think that it's really gonna help Michael. Carly: That's all you're telling me? You can't tell me more? I'm so sick of secrets. Come on. Jason: Okay, I can tell you 2 things. The first thing, Sonny is in peace talks with the rival, and we're both hopeful that it's gonna work out. And the second thing is, um, I told Sonny that someone else has to take over enforcer duties, I want to stay away from the violence. Carly: You're doing that for Michael, aren't you? Sonny: I'm not saying peace talks with Joey Limbo are gonna be easy, but we gotta start somewhere, and having Luke on our side is a good thing. He can convince Joey to see the obvious. If a war goes down, we all lose.
Dominic: But Joey Limbo, he's unreliable. He will turn on a dime. Sonny: If he does, we'll deal with it. Dominic: Hope you know by now you can trust me. Sonny: That's a good thing, because I'm gonna have to, uh, reassign certain aspects of Jason's job. Dominic: Which aspects? Sonny: Here's the thing. If the peace talks don't go well, okay, you're gonna have to get your hands dirty. You understand me? And I can't have a repeat of what happened with Tommy Soto. Are we clear? Dominic: Like a bell. You give the order, I'll make sure it gets done. [Door opens] Jax: I think we are way overdue for a talk about boundaries and how to limit the threat you pose to my family.
Jason: I don't want Michael following my example. Carly: Okay, Michael didn't mean to kill Claudia. I was there, Jason. That kid was scared to death. Jason: I understand, but I am respected for what I do, so Michael thinks that killing is worthy of respect. Carly: But you do what you do out of loyalty to Sonny. Jason: Listen to you. You always justify the violence because you care about me. Carly: Well, I'm selfish that way. I can't help it. You've saved me and mine so many times that I'm grateful, and I don't really care how it happened. Jason: But when you make excuses for me, you give Michael the idea that what I do is okay, and it's not okay, Carly. Carly: Stop. Why are you putting all the blame on your shoulders? Jason: I feel like I'm the only one who's troubled about Michael not seeming to care that he killed Claudia at all. Carly: I'm troubled. I am scared to death for Michael. And you know what? If you could turn things around by leaving the business or taking some vow to be a pacifist, I would be cheering you on, but that's not gonna happen. Michael's making his own decisions, and he's emulating Sonny, and we both know Sonny's not gonna change. Jason: But I -- I wanna be someone that Michael looks up to. I don't want him to think I'm special just because my hand doesn't shake when I shoot somebody. Carly: Oh, I love you so much, and I think what you're doing for Michael is beautiful. I do. My God, I don't want you to risk your own life.
Sonny: You know, you used to be discreet, Jax. I don't know what happened, but... Jax: Kindly remove your goons from my property, or I will remove them myself. Sonny: My boys need to be protected. How many times do I gotta tell you that? Jax: Okay, no-necks in dark suits attract attention to my house, okay... Sonny: Enough. Enough. Jax: Puts my family in danger. Sonny: Nothing you say will make me compromise Michael and Morgan's safety. Jax: Oh, is that what you told yourself when you drove Michael to kill your wife? Sonny: Ouch. You know that's not what happened. Jax: You know, you seem to think that I have less at stake because I'm only Michael's stepfather, but I'll be damned if I will let you harm any children that live under my roof. Sonny: You've been threatenin' me for years, and I'm still standing and so are you. You know why? 'Cause of your wife. You should thank her. That's the only reason I've tolerated you. Jax: Well, my tolerance for you has come to an end. Keep your distance from my family. [Slams door]
Jason: I've spoken to Sonny about my decision. Carly: You realize if you try to do this for Michael, you could be putting you and Sonny in a lot of danger. Jason: Okay, let's just go with if this truce goes through, there's that much less to worry about right now. Carly: And if it doesn't go through? Jason: I'm gonna need to figure something out. Carly: Please don't ignore the good that you've done. If it weren't for you, I might have lost my chance to be Michael's mother. I mean, you were everything to him, and even after Sonny took Michael as his own, it was your love and your patience that gave Michael a lot of his best qualities. And you've been so special to Morgan. I mean, don't underestimate what you've done for my kids and how you've helped them. Please. [Josslyn fusses] Carly: I think Josslyn wants her Uncle Jason. Hey. Jason: Carly. Carly: You know what? Come here. I have messed up plenty, and I have made tons of mistakes, but you are not one of them. [Josslyn cooing] [Carly laughs]

Jax: Hey. Thanks for coming. Robin: Thanks. Patrick: Robin wouldn't miss it. Jax: Really? Are you familiar with Franco's work? Robin: Not really his work, but more of the legend. He was famous when I was living in Paris. Jax: Oh. Robin: And it's interesting, nobody knows what he looks like. Patrick: Yeah, it's gotta be a pretty big deal for "crimson." Jax: Well, all things to Kate. Should be around here somewhere. She's relentless when she sets her mind to something. I think she wants to try to rope Franco into a photo shoot next. Robin: Ooh, good luck with that. Jax: Yeah, but after seeing this guy's art, I'm not so sure. Maybe we should keep a healthy distance, if you know what I mean.
Tracy: Would you tell me what public enemy number one is doing on this guest list? Jax: Well, that would have been Kate's call. She's editor and chief of "crimson." Tracy: You're the backer. And he or she who holds the purse strings holds the power. Just ask my husband. Jax: Well, we have an arrangement? She gets free reign of "crimson." Hence this entire exhibit. You know, Franco might be the flavor of the month, but he doesn't get my vote., Tracy: Mystery solved. Jax: What? Tracy: She obviously wanted to match the guest list with the artwork. Let's see, dreary, blood-soaked and pretentious, ooh, who does that sound like? Jax: [Chuckles] I think that describes sonny perfectly. Tracy: Good guess. Now tell me why somebody in law enforcement has not been able to put him behind bars for a lifetime? Jax: Don't worry, someone will. Just a matter of time.

Michael: Hey, mom, what time are we heading over to Kelly's for turkey? Carly: Oh, as soon as Jax gets here to watch Josslyn. Michael: Are we really doing Thanksgiving without Jax? Carly: Yeah. Jax and I agreed to give each other some space, so -- Michael: I mean, it's a family holiday. Carly: Your father and your grandfather are family, too. Michael: Yeah, but you don't have to leave Josslyn at home for the first Thanksgiving -- Carly: Please do not make this any harder than it already is. Michael: Ok. Carly: Can you do me a favor? Run up and check on Morgan and see what's taking him so long. [Sighs] Whew. Jax: Hey. Carly: Hi. I thought you were at the hotel. Jax: Well, I realized how quiet it was in the guest room, so I was getting my work done there. Carly: I fed Josslyn. I put her down and the monitor's over there. Jax: Oh, good. Ok. So it's just gonna be you and the boys and sonny, and who else? Carly: Mike. And Bernie. Jax: Oh, it's official. Bernie makes it a party. Carly: Well, you get to spend the holiday with your daughter, you know. Jax: Yeah, I know. I'm looking forward to that. See the turkey? [Carly and Jax laugh] Carly: Hi, you guys ready? Morgan: Ready. Carly: Good. Michael: Happy Thanksgiving, Jax. Jax: Oh, yeah. Happy Thanksgiving. Hey. Happy Thanksgiving. Morgan: See you later. Jax: See you later. Happy Thanksgiving. Carly: Happy Thanksgiving. Come on.
[Door opens] [Indistinct chattering] Michael: Didn't you just get it serviced? Carly: Yes! Jax: Hey! Did you forget something? Carly: My car won't start. Jax: Really? Carly: It won't even turn over. Michael: Yeah. I mean, I'd drive, but I left my car at dad's. Besides -- we'd be pretty cramped. [Carly sighs] Jax: Right. Well, I can take a look at it, if you like. Carly: Would you? Jax: Sure. Carly: Thanks. Can you boys listen for Josslyn in case she wakes up? Morgan: Yeah. Sure. Carly: Thanks. Michael: Is that what I think it is? Morgan: Maybe. Michael: You sabotaged mom's car to strand her with Jax for Thanksgiving. [Morgan chuckles]
Michael: I talked to mom already, 'cause she and Jax need space. Morgan: Look, I don't care what they say. They love each other, and I don't want them spending Thanksgiving apart. Michael: Well, it's not up to you! Come on. Morgan: When you wanted mom and dad back together, you used to do stuff like this all the time. Michael: Yeah, but I was just a kid then. Morgan: Yeah, and I'm just a kid now. So, I get to do this. [Michael sighs] Morgan: And if you're not gonna help me, at least don't try and talk me out of it. Michael: Well, what about dad? He's looking forward to seeing us tonight. Morgan: Dad's got grandpa and Bernie. They can talk business. It's dad's favorite thing, anyway. [Michael chuckles] Morgan: Look, I'm a big brother now. And just like you looked out for me, I've got to look out for Josslyn. Michael: She's just a baby. Morgan: Exactly. And her mom and dad are already fighting. [Door opens and closes] [Morgan sighs] Jax: Oh, good, thanks. Uh, I don't know what's wrong with it, but the car's not going anywhere. Carly: Mm-mmm. Michael: Huh. Morgan: Uh, I'll call dad and grandpa and tell them we can't make it. Carly: Can we take your car?
Carly: No, thanks. Michael: Hey, sit down, sit down, sit down. Carly: Ok. Michael: Have a seat. Listen, you know that trip my class is taking? Jax: Yeah, the one to the civil war site. That's it, right? Carly: What about it? Michael: Well, I was thinking of maybe going. Carly: Great. Michael: Yeah. Carly: We have to talk about that now? Michael: Uh, yeah, because of Josslyn. Jax: What does this have to do with Josslyn? Michael: Well, it's no secret that you guys haven't been getting along. And, you know, I know from experience with Morgan that newborns can be a lot to handle. You know? Maybe it's just not the right time for me to go away. Maybe you guys will need me to help out. You know? By's gonna need a lot of attention. That's what big brothers are for. Jax: Well, we appreciate that, Michael, very much. But, uh -- you should go out and live your life. Carly: Yeah. You should. I mean, Jax is right. You should do things that normal kids do. You should go on trips and proms and whatever fun things come along. Michael: [Sighs] Yeah. Jax: Yeah. Michael: Well, I guess we should get going, then. Carly: Ok. We should go. Jax: All right. Well -- Carly: See you. Jax: I will, uh, I will call if there's -- if, you know, if something happens with Josslyn, I'll call you. Carly: Bye. Jax: Bye.
Jax: Sometimes, we don't realize what we should be thankful for. [Josslyn sneezes] Jax: Yeah. There were moments when the whole universe was conspiring against you -- [Josslyn fussing] Jax: To be born. But here you are. Here you are. And I promise you, not a day will go by that I won't be thankful for that. Yeah. That's what you want. [Josslyn stops fussing] Jax: Yeah. Carly: Your car won't start, either. Jax: Really? Carly: Yeah. Jax: You gotta be kidding me. Carly: Yeah. Jax: Well, I could call you a cab. Carly: Yeah. Or -- we could take 2 brand-new cars not starting as a sign that, uh, we should stay right where we are. [Josslyn fussing] Jax: Well, Josslyn and I would love to spend Thanksgiving with the entire family. Wait a minute -- Carly: I don't know what we're gonna have for dinner. We have no food in the fridge. Morgan: Oh, me and Michael have got it. Come on.
Jax: Happy Thanksgiving, guys. Carly: Happy Thanksgiving. Jax: You know what? Perhaps we should give you a napkin. Michael: Here you go.
