FAQs What type of characters are you guys looking for?Right now we could certainly use some more characters in the Alliance military and more characters active in the research facility (both could be covered with the same character!  ), but we'll gladly accept just about any type of character. Check the listing of characters by occupation here to see what we already have a lot of. This list of character ideas might help if you're looking for character concepts that could be useful for current plot lines. Can I play an alien or artificial intelligence?No; Only human characters will be approved for play. The humans of the Nu System currently have no knowledge of alien humanoids, and there aren't any cylons walking about. Can I make threads on [insert planet that isn't Initium here]?No- at least not at this time. Although there is a possibility of expanding the locations open for RP in the future, the game is currently taking place on Initium exclusively, and there's plenty to write about within that setting! Can I post a thread set in the past?Yes; As long as the thread takes place on Initium, all you have to do is make a note in the first post of the thread that explains when the thread takes place. Please be cautious about writing out threads taking place in the past, though-- you don't want to cause any continuity issues! Can my character have a laser gun/lightsaber?No; Weaponry in the Nu System isn't nearly that advanced or seemingly impossible. There is a write-up about Nu System weaponry available in The Codex. If you find that you need more info on weaponry, please PM Dun via Marcus Caine's account. What does that stand for?The CAP: The Council of Allied Powers (in control of Alliance space)

The ARF: The Agricultural Research Facility (on Initium) What's the currency 'round these parts?In Alliance space, transactions are generally digital in the form of credits. On Initium there is a lot of bartering and trading, but coins are also used for currency here and there. May I make a character from outside the Nu System? No-ish; Humanity originated on Earth and spread to the Nu System exclusively. While there may be other habitable plants outside the system, humanity has not spread beyond it, so all characters must come from the IP or the Fringe . . . unless they were originally born on Earth, but in that case they would have had to have left Earth prior to the final bombing. Just be conscious of that! Are the Allies the bad guys? This isn't a good vs. evil story, so while some people might say, "Yes" others might strongly disagree. The Alliance government has its faults, just as the governments of the Fringe do. There are corrupt officials everywhere- not just in the Alliance- and it's important to note that the Allies do a lot of good stuff. They aren't supervillains! Playing with that gray area could turn into a lot of fun for you.
