Initium's general climate would likely be best described as cold semi-arid.


The weather on Initium is much like weather on Hale due to a lot of contributing factors, including some scientific manipulation. It rarely experiences extreme conditions of any kind, though it tends to be on the colder side (especially at night). Unlike Hale, Initium is not a particularly rainy place. The conditions are generally dry, with little water in the air or in the ground, and the sky is rarely cloudy. Rainfall varies in different parts of the moon, but the colony is often dusty and may experience weeks without significant rainfall accumulation. There tends to be periods of high wind speeds from time to time that may bring sand into the colony, but natural disasters and snow are unheard of.

Typically, expect fairly sunny skies, slightly cool temperatures, and minimal weather-related inconveniences with minimal humidity. Watch out for troublesome, windy days that might cause some unwanted exfoliation!


Initium is primarily covered in flatland, the majority of which is covered with resilient grasses, small shrubs, or a whole lot of nothing. The dirt tends to be rather dry, and although it has some nutrients, it isn't particularly phenomenal for farming. The flora isn't very diverse or colorful, as one can tell just by gazing out over the flat plains which surround the colony. Some mountainous areas may be seen far from the colony, and there are forested areas nearby, but there are no phenomenal plants to behold, unless one is easily impressed.
