Army
This branch of the Alliance's military forces is the largest, encompassing all of the troops specializing in combat on land. It is a varied collection of soldiers with many subgroups and special forces, but the majority of the army consists of 'common soldiers'. Many of the ranks, especially those which involve responsibility for a great number of soldiers, are held primarily by individuals with considerable experience, knowledge, or privilege/corruption/connections, and that certainly doesn't go unnoticed.

Air Force
The second largest of the major divisions, this encompasses both air-based personnel and those who serve in space. Major divisions within this force may be designated to strictly air combat or space combat, but the majority of pilots are qualified for both air and space combat.

Uniforms and Armor

Basic military wear is the same across genders and service divisions. It consists of beige pants, a light gray shirt, a dark gray over-shirt (of thicker, protective fabric), and nearly black boots. Other garments might be worn, but this is the basic outfit for all military personnel.

Full armor consists of many pieces, some of which may vary between ranks, divisions, and sexes. Armor is always gray/black in color, though visors and accents may be green. Helmets often vary, depending on the protection required for any mission, and some equipment may be added to serve specific purposes (especially for air force personnel).
