The Time Has Come!

It's my pleasure to announce to you that we're moving to the next chapter of the Initium story! From the beginning there has been something beyond the surface, some reason to tell this story beyond the simple fun of writing in a small, futuristic setting with a hint of tension. Initium has never been a simple place with a simple group of people or a simple collection of plot lines. . . but now there's more to explore, more to uncover, more to enjoy.

In order to continue, there are some changes that need to be made. Ash and I hope that the thought of change excites you more than it frightens you, but even if you're a little apprehensive-- stick with us here. Let us introduce you to something we're really looking forward to and something we're really eager to share with you.

I'm glad to finally be able to announce . . .

Wow, that's a lot to unload on you guys at once! Take a second to process it. Are you good? Are you still with me? I'm going to go ahead and guess that you have a million questions, one of which might just be: What does this all mean?!

We're moving to a new board.
That's kind of a scary thing to toss at you, huh? Don't freak out! These forums won't be going anywhere, and I think you'll find the transition to be pretty pain-free and pleasant. Ash and I have made a new board at which to continue this story in order to open up new locations and provide new features without compromising the organization of this forum, so you can still have easy access to everything here while being able to continue on to bigger and better things.

The story will now be hosted on Jcink.
If any of you aren't familiar with Jcink, that might seem really, really intimidating, but I think it's the best option available to us as we try to incorporate better organization to improve upon how we play and how we stay on top of the story. The most important thing to note: Jcink is almost the same thing as Invisionfree on the non-staff end of things. Everything should look pretty familiar, and you shouldn't have any trouble doing your thing at our new home. Check out this topic about Jcink features-- it should help you get a feel for the minor changes you'll encounter.

What about what we have going here?!
You are absolutely free to wrap up what you have going for pre-Exodus fun. Finish up threads that need finishing. It's totally fine! You'll continue to have access to these forums so you can review things you've written in the past, snag applications, transfer writing, and all that jazz. Everything will be left in place, with the exception of the Twitter feed . . . and probably nothing else.

We're skipping ahead a bit in the timeline
You'll notice that there's a small time skip involved in moving from our story here to our story on the new board. If you need to fill in the blanks for whatever reason, you're more than welcome to post threads taking place before some of these changes to make sure that nothing important to your personal plots ends up being missed.

Your To-do List

• Register accounts for the characters you intend to keep playing over at Exodus (hopefully all of them!)
• Transfer your applications-- You won't need to wait for approval to begin playing once it's time to go, but we need to have your characters' info on-site! Consider making edits to get those apps up to date. If you do make significant alterations, please let Ash or me know so we can check 'em out!
• Familiarize yourself with the new board!-- IC forums aren't open for play just yet! Take a day to look around, get to know the environment, and get comfy. If you find any problems/errors/weirdness, definitely let your friendly, neighborhood admins know!

Aaaand that's about it! Let us know if you have any questions or concerns, but be sure to read the info on the new board before you start panicking about how many questions you have. I'm sure some answers will be found there!

The move is going really well so far! It's awesome to see that you guys are excited for the changes and ready to get going on the new developments over at our new Jcink home.

This board has been closed to new registrations, mostly to make sure that people don't register here hoping to get involved in the game when they really need to be registering over at the other board. If you catch any confused persons, please point them in the right direction!

As promised, the IC forums over on Jcink will be opened for posting later today.

You're still very welcome to wrap things up over here if you'd like. Backtracking can happen on the Jcink board as well, so feel free to post things there that might be going back in time a bit once the IC forums are open.

The Jcink board will be advertised on RPG-D, in ad forums, on Tumblr, on Twitter, and all over the internet once IC forums are open for play. Be sure to welcome any guests and potential players that might come through to check out the new place. It would be great if a few of you could be available for answering questions and whatnot as necessary, especially since I'll be busy today, and who knows what Ash will have goin'!
