Title: The sophist
Cash Vertix - September 20, 2008 03:34 AM (GMT)
Happy Sweet Sixteen to the Sweet Sophsoph.
I think it's widely known through these circles that she's far too intelligent for her age. By that of course I mean she puts us all in the shadows because there's no way in hell at sixteen I was writing like she was, or that any of us seem to have such a grasp of - well that little world far beyond a one simple worded explanation.
Don't tell me she doesn't blow your mind too.
But to get down to the real - and forgive me if I'm a bit rusty at this, it's not a common thing.
But Soph you're amazing. You really are one of the most marvelous of people I've ever met. You're incredibly clever and compassionate. Far too funny and functional. You always achieve to be something more, and you're never satisfied. Our conversations are marvels in themselves. I don't know how it is you can balance the line between funny, entertaining, intelligent, enlightening, and all those other things. It's never just filled up lines, and it's never just words said for no reason, and cast aimlessly out there simply because you got tired of looking at the empty space.
I don't get you. I really don't.
Because in the end you always know what to say even if you think you don't or maybe it's not even about that. It's not so much what's said, but how. In this world of ether cords and monitors it's weird to think that you've always been there for me personally. Through all my egotistical raving. Through all my crushing insecurities. Even when you didn't know what it was precisely or if you didn't agree with it.
You were still there, and you still can always make me smile. And the most amazing thing about all of this is. That you're so young and yet so intelligent. So all this other stuff, it's still how good of a person you are(Even if you disagree, and im sure you will) that stands out most.
I don't know how you put up with me, but you do, and I'm really thankful of that.
I once told Juana that it's a good thing you don't know how amazing you are or you'd take over the world. I wasn't joking. It's true.
So happy birthday from your little ament.

Although my offering of congratulations will be nowhere near as long and profound as Casey's, I figured I'd take the time to say this.
Soph, you just so happen to be one of those kinds of people who seems to go far above and beyond on seemingly everything you do. Along with a good sense of humor, your intelligence and grasp of the English language is completely off the charts (like Casey, no way in absolute hell was I writing like you do at age sixteen). You bring a wonderful voice to this site and through your posts, be it Valentine or Amandine or Abel, you have always been able to convey and stir emotions like no other RPer I have seen do.
It's a talent and it's something that I myself strive to do at some point. Maybe I should become your pupil or something. =P
Sincerely, happy sixteenth Soph. Enjoy it!

You are unfairly brilliant, you know.
I'm not gonna lie - I just about fell over and died when I found out how old you were (well, are...).
I thought you were my age, at least. I was like WTF, there's no way she can be that young! xD
And f you're this amazing a writer now, I can only imagine what you'll be like in a few years.
I don't think the world will be able to handle it.
I totally DON'T stalk your posts...
You are also incredibly wise for a girl your age (or maybe it's just common sense, which I don't have? LOL.)
and when I was being all irrational-like that one time, you made me feel better just by listening and saying
WOMAN, YOU CAN DO THIS (only not in those words xD) and your words of advice helped immensely.
Happy sixteenth, darlingggg. <3
i thought that was cute. LOL.

OHHH MY LOVELY SOPHIA. MY SOOPH. MY MOONY.
I just want you to know, for as long as we live, I will be a] karate chopping every bastard who tries to get into your Scrabble panties, b] having intense bickering matches via Seth and Val, c] making sure Jackson beats the unsuspecting for looking at his darling cousin the wrong way, d] having philosophical conversations about how we're not entirely sure how certain grammar rules work, e] PROVIDING A FUCKING AWESOME RANDOM FACT OF THE DAY (P.S. You get THREE for your birthday and I will list them below), f] making up the most ridiculous nicknames on the planet for your Soophy goodness, g] attacking Lanni with excessive punctuation in the hopes of stealing her RP steroids, and FINALLY h] being awesome in a general sort of way.
I love you more than I love bad-mouthing stupid people. YEAH, I KNOW. Intense. Everyone else can put that in their juice boxes and SUCK ON ITTT. Ahem. Now for your facts.
a] I'm apparently a big fan of listing things today. (This does not count as a random fact.)
b] According to suicide statistics, Monday is the favored day for self-destruction. (Good thing it's a Saturday.)
c] It would take 11 Empire State Buildings, stacked one on top of the other, to measure the Gulf of Mexico at its deepest point.
d] The sound of E.T. walking was made by someone squishing her hands in jelly. (Well now don't you feel enlightened!)
AND WITHOUT FURTHER RANTING, I leave you with my love. Happy Sweet Sixteen, doll!!!

BOO -- I'm taking a slight pause from working on all those tedious college THINGS to stop by in this thread, which I missed because of those same tedious college THINGS, but the loveliest part is I know you'll understand!
Because in celebration of your birthday I celebrate you! Celebrate your capability to be so awesome and most of all -- to understand. Because it's that same ability that always comforts me when I'm nervous or confused, that says the right thing even if it's not the easiest thing, to be so perfectly at ease - intelligent and assured, and all the things I wish I'd been when I was SIXTEEN. [This, above all else, blows my mind.]
I think it's your ability to simply understand that makes you such an amazing writer, with this natural gift I don't think I'll ever quite be able to replicate. Because you've got such a mastery of how to create things that are so beyond me sometimes, emotional things, intelligent things, things that actually impact one as a human being - they're just lovely. You're so involved with the world, and if I had just a smidgen of the sort of drive you do I think I would probably explode.
SO, in short. I hope you had a happy birthday, celebrated yourself and your birthing and all of that, hope you had frosting and cake and candles and if not then I hope you at least got a smile out of our love for you which is VAST AND ENDLESS. <3
