NCIS stands for Naval Criminal Investigative Service. Leroy Jethro Gibbs heads up their Major Case Response Team (MCRT). headquartered at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C..
NCIS is a federal law enforcement agency with jurisdiction on crimes involving persons and property associated with the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps, the team is frequently assigned to high-profile cases such as the death of the President's nuclear missile aide, a bomb situation on a U.S. Navy warship, the death of a celebrity on a reality show set on a USMC base, terrorist threats, and kidnappings.

Until three months ago Gibbs team consisted of:
Anthony Dinozzo
Ziva David
Timothy McGee
But after the death of Former Director Jenny Shepard the new Director Leon Vance has assigned a new team to Gibbs. The team consists of:
Michelle Lee, Brent Langer, and Daniel Keating.

Gibbs is still in a bit of emotional distress over Jenny's death but one that does not know him wouldn't know. Ducky and Abby can see but say nothing as Gibbs would never talk to them even though they are his closest friends. Gibbs just isn't the type to show emotion. Gibbs as always does his job and goes home after to work on which ever boat he happens to be working on this current month. Things with his team are fine but still there things that need to be done to restore the team he once had.

Anthony Dinozzo stuck abroad the USS Ronald Reagan hates his new position and calls Gibbs when he can to see if there is any progress on getting him off the Reagan and back home where he belongs.

Ziva David lost her job and doesn't want to return home so while most of the team is still with NCIS barely anyone has heard from Ziva to know what she's been up since losing her position with NCIS.

Timothy McGee enjoys Cyber crimes but misses the team as he was just starting to find his niche in Gibbs' team.

How will the true NCIS team find their way back together? It is up to fate and the cases they all work and Gibbs himself to pull enough strings to bring everyone back from their positions out in the world back to the bullpen and their rightful places.
