Scalding Marl
The earth starts to become fragile, threatening to part beneath ones feet if you venture towards the south side of the mountain. There, the earth's crust is thin, causing rivets of magma to seep through the soil, singeing the fur if one steps too close. There is no way to tell when the earth will part and there is no way to prevent it. All one can do is be cautious and very alert.

On the northern rim of the mountain, the soil is almost icy cold. Wandering alone is not advised; however lifting you voice when lost risks causing avalanches. Snow falls in all but a few summer months making these slopes difficult to travel. During these rare months crimson flowers litter this side of the mountain, causing the ground to look like a sea of nearly dried blood. It's beautiful in a sadistic sense.
