I don't get it. I like the Pittsburgh Penguins alot, since I like Sid and Malkin and the rest of the Crosby show, and the fact that I live an hour and a half from Pittsburgh. I rooted for them as they handled Ottawa, New York, and Philly with ease. The sports critics everywhere were hailing them as the next Edmonton Oilers team, the new Gretzky, Messier, Kurri, Coffy, Hall, and Fuhr.

Then they play the Red WIngs.

This has been hailed as one of the best Finals in years, with, at least on paper, two amazingly talented teams that both value puck possession and can get physical if the game requires. My true love is the Red Wings, enphasized by my sig, but since the Pens and they never play in the regular season, I was able to comfortably root for both teams without fearing having to take sides. Now they were going to play this young, very talented team that blew out all their opponents. I was sweating a lot, not knowing if the experience and grittiness of the Wings could match the youth and talent of the Pens. My friends, who are all Pens fans, had their own reasons to sweat about the Wings.

And then they play, and until the start of the second period of play in game 1, I saw some REALLY good playoff hockey. With the start of the second period, however, the Pens fell apart. Now, Detroit has won two games and has thoroughly dominated the Pens in every aspect of the game, except maybe hits. I'm not saying I'm not happy, but I am curious as to why this contest has turned so one sided. Super_wolvie, my condolences to you, and I truely hope this match can get more even sided before the Wings sweep.

Any comments anyone?

War produces classic remarks by military commanders; on February 26, 1991, the US 1st Armored Division, the famous Big Red One, encountered the allegedly elite Iraqi Republican Guard. The divisional commander, Major General Ronald Griffiths, radioed his deputy, who was riding with the armored spearhead. "I understand we are engaging the Medina Division?" he said, referring to one of the crack Iraqi Guard divisions. "Negative, sir," came the reply. "We are destroying the Medina Division."
Great proof that despite their quantity, the Soviet tanks that NATO planners feared above all else could be shredded by the M1 Abrams, Challenger 2, Leopard 2, LeClerc, Ariete, and Merkava with ease. Patton would be proud.

they've all been kidnapped, by aliens from the planet of ZALAGATHARAKATAAACAZAD, (their huge redwing fans), and several ZALAGATHARAKATAAACAZADIANS have disguised themselves as the pens. Hopefully, the real penguins can break free and win the cup.
