My favorite team in NFL history is the 1985 Chicago Bears. Probably because I have a thing with defense. They had the best defense ever! They could have won the superbowl with only their defense. I mean, the defense scored more than their opponents offense! Who can forget the iconic play when John McMahon (Is that how you spell it?) threw to his lineman "the fridge" for a touchdown on a botched play? How can we ignore their playoff run, where they didn't give up a single point?

Can anybody contest the Bears? The 1985 Chicago Bears vs. Any team from before the new milenium. Can they defeat the Bears in a best of 3 series?

The 72-75 Steelers were pretty dominate as well. Also the 97 and 98 Denver Broncos.

War produces classic remarks by military commanders; on February 26, 1991, the US 1st Armored Division, the famous Big Red One, encountered the allegedly elite Iraqi Republican Guard. The divisional commander, Major General Ronald Griffiths, radioed his deputy, who was riding with the armored spearhead. "I understand we are engaging the Medina Division?" he said, referring to one of the crack Iraqi Guard divisions. "Negative, sir," came the reply. "We are destroying the Medina Division."
Great proof that despite their quantity, the Soviet tanks that NATO planners feared above all else could be shredded by the M1 Abrams, Challenger 2, Leopard 2, LeClerc, Ariete, and Merkava with ease. Patton would be proud.

the 74 74 78 and 79 steelers would crush them, no offense but they had the defense the offense and the coaching staff.

I assume you're refering to the Cowboys. If so, I'll join your club. I hate the Cowboys with a passion. They were certainly cool when they had all their amazing players in the 70's and 90's, but I hated how they got the title of "America's Team". MUch like that which the Patriots are getting now. dry.gif dry.gif

i hate them both as well, but thing i can't stand about the patriots is that people think they are the greatest team ever and it's just not true.

Almost any classic team, the great years of the Bears, the Steelers, the Packers, the Broncos, the Chiefs, the Raiders, the 49ers, and lastly, the powerhouse Dolphins, would all have the Pats crying into their Gatorade.

Yeah, I'm mad that, 1. They weren't penalized a couple of games for that videotaping infringement, and 2. If they'd been penalized those games, they wouldn't be undefeated. Undefeated means they join the ranks of the 72' Dolphins, who are so much out of the Pats' league, it's not even funny. Plus, on Madden 09, the Patriots are going to be a beast of a team, and very difficult to beat..

Here's a question for you boston. You've stated that you hate the Lakers, Cowboys, and Yankees. Now, if the Celtics, Patriots, and Red Sox were in their respective championship games (ALCS for the Sox) and you HAD to pick one of your Boston teams to loose, which of your hated foes would you choose to win?

As for your posed question, wins determine what team is best to me. Therefore, 72' Dolphins were the best.

Some would argue that the Pats are also in that category, since they went undefeated.

But they cheated, and their quarterback is a womanizer and gets girls pregnant, and their team isn't fit to lick the dog crap off the bottom of my shoes.
