I'm a hockey fan, so around this time of year, my nerves tighten, my pulse quickens, and my whole body hums with emotion. Oh, yeah, IT'S THE STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS!!!!!!

My favorite team is, and always will be, the Detroit Red Wings. They have been dominate the last four seasons, but can't seem to get past the early playoff stages. Don't remind me. angry.gif angry.gif What do you think about the hockey playoffs, if you have an opionion? My call: Detroit, Calgary, Minnesota, and Dallas all advance in the Western Conference, while Pittsburgh, Washington, Montreal, and New York will take their respective series in the East. What's your call. Gamer, Darth Pool, I'm hoping you guys have some good insight about the playoffs!

War produces classic remarks by military commanders; on February 26, 1991, the US 1st Armored Division, the famous Big Red One, encountered the allegedly elite Iraqi Republican Guard. The divisional commander, Major General Ronald Griffiths, radioed his deputy, who was riding with the armored spearhead. "I understand we are engaging the Medina Division?" he said, referring to one of the crack Iraqi Guard divisions. "Negative, sir," came the reply. "We are destroying the Medina Division."
Great proof that despite their quantity, the Soviet tanks that NATO planners feared above all else could be shredded by the M1 Abrams, Challenger 2, Leopard 2, LeClerc, Ariete, and Merkava with ease. Patton would be proud.

You're saying the Ducks will beat the Red Wings? Not this year, baby!

Also, I secretly hope my two favorite teams, the Wings and the Pens, both get the the Finals, because I live only two hours from Pittsburgh, and if we got tickets, there would be a slight chance I could go see a Stanley Cup Final game. THAT would be the highlight of my year!!

I'll tell you here to save you the trouble. If I remember correctly...

East:

Habs/Bruins: Habs 3-2

Pens/Sens: Pens swept 4-0

Caps/Flyers: Flyers 3-1

Devils/Rangers: Rangers 3-1

West:

Wings/Preds: tied 2-2 all

Sharks/Flames: Sharks 3-2

Wild/Avs: Avs 3-2

Ducks/Stars: Stars 3-1.

My teams are the Wings and Pens. Pens are cruising, the Wings lost their last two. Hopefully, game 5 tonight will be better!
