@Treacherous: Wait. How is there a generation gap between you, and grano. He's 28 and your 31.

Millennials are born at or after 1980. He is right on the edge of millenial/Xers.

Just posting something I found somewhere so it has to be a fact.

Fixed.

4 years isn't a generation gap. 10 years is.

Aren't millenials around 1980 to mid 1990's? After that it's generation Z who are from 1996 or 97 so some people on here could be from there.
Cusp between x and y is the mtv generation.

But by that logic, everyone is one generation.

I'm 81 and this generation.
I'm 77, therefore the same generation.
I'm 73, so I'm in the same generation as the 77 year old.
And it goes on until some guy is like "I'm 13, so I'm in the same generation as the 17 year old who is in the same generation as..."

There has to be a cut off somewhere.

And CBS is wrong. We are the Me Generation. I've had multiple teachers tell me so.

I think videogameman fails in this thread. Basing a generation off of one class? Videogameman, you do realize that your "generation" also includes the vast majority of the posters here, right?

Look above. dry.gif

I thought generations just went like this: Grandparents (one generation), Parents (Another Generation), and Children (Another Generation) No specific age thing. Or that's what I thought anyway... unsure.gif

That's what it is. Just on a world wide scale. So say, 40,000 Grandparents are born within the span of 20 years. That is one generation. It just continues on like that.

Actually I dont think that a generation can be defined within the realms of time at all. To me a generation is a group of people who have gone through the same hardships and the same triumphs as they grew acoustemed to the world which they had inherited from their precedors.

To me a generation is a society as a whole, during times of despair and prosperity.

Poor videogameman...but I agree with Surfer/whoever said it: You shouldn't base an entire generation of people off of one classroom of kids...
