This guy borrows heavily from Sun Wukong.

In Dragonball, yes.

By Dragonball Z, he'd mutated into a Superman clone with better fighting slikks.

There, that looks better! laugh.gif tongue.gif

Chinese cultural heritage and mythologies have been around for thousands of years and are rich in culture as well as diversity. Though not as popular in western societies and Roman or Greek mythology, in my opinion, Chinese mythology far surpasses them.

In some aspects, yes, Chinese mythology does surpass Greco-Roman. Though Greco-Roman is more "fap-worthy"(sorry for the term), since we're all in the western world anyway.

In terms of power and drive, Sun Wu Kong just puts Hercules and Thor to shame.

Who is Su Wu Kong? You guys keep on talking about him and I'm clueless. Someone give me some info please.

The main character from the Chinese novel: Journey to the West (which does have certain mythological elements in it) and he's a humanoid monkey with divine magic and martial arts prowess. This guy is insane, he took down half his own pantheon, something that not even Hercules or Thor could hope to achieve and there's more.

I'm going to go to bed now.

Well, have you seen the forbiddon kingdom?

Some of his feats are....

He is immortal, he can't be harmed by fire of any kind, he can not drown, he knows 72 transformations and can turn into anything he wants no matter what it may be, he can pull out his intestines and put them back in, he can freeze you, he can jump from Illinois to China in a single bound,

here

Sun Wukong possesses incredible strength, being able to lift his 13,500 jn (8,100 kg) Ruyi Jingu Bang with ease. He also has superb speed, traveling 108,000 li (54,000 kilometers) in one somersault. Sun knows 72 transformations, which allows him to transform into various animals and objects; he is, however, shown with slight problems transforming into other people, since he is unable to complete the transformation of his tail. He is a skilled fighter, capable of holding his own against the best generals of heaven. Each of his hairs possesses magical properties, and is capable of transforming into a clone of the Monkey King himself, or various weapons, animals, and other objects. He also knows various spells in order to command wind, part water, conjure protective circles against demons, freeze humans, demons, and gods alike, to name a few. Unlike most gods, he earned his immortality through battling heaven and earth.

Chinese mythology is the best cultural and religious folk tale there is.

Um... no. Journey to the west is the only real epic myth that it has. The best mythology is either old Celtic/Viking (with epics such as Beowulf), Greek (Homer's stories are still some of the best around), and, if you forget that people still believe in it, Christian (I'm atheist, but I respect some of the stuff in the bible as being pretty epic and cool).

I like both Greek and Chinese myths equally, since the latter is my heritage and the former is the most attractive-looking. Celtic mythology looks nice. Never cared much for Viking. How much do you know about Chinese mythology anyway? I hope you're really not biased against Eastern religions or else I'm going to have to stay away from you. *resents British imperialism with heart*

You're an atheist? I didn't know that. I'm Christian (nominally) as in churchgoeing, but I'm an agnostic/post-modern freethinker on the inside.

No, I'm not biased against the east. I'm just not a fan of chinese mythology. No epic feel to it.

Of course, you're a Westerner, so you wouldn't care much about Eastern Culture. Hey while Chinese mythology may not always be about epicness, they're mostly about vast philosophy and wisdom.

Hey hamboy, is there such thing as Anglo-Saxon mythology?

Viking, Anglo Saxon an celtic myth is basically interchangeable.

And if you want Philosophy and Wisdom, look at the Greeks. Again.

i think celtic mythology is a little different from Norse and Germanic.

*gasp* Hamboy. I truly respect Greek philosophy and mythology a lot and all, but you make me feel more uncomfortable than I already am with you with your last comment. You know absolutely nothing about chinese philosophy and wisdom. Confucius and Lao Tzu's philosophical development are about equal to your Socrates and Aristotle. Never ever try and put such a culture down.

You know what? This is probably the last time I'm speaking to you. angry.gif The next post you make in this topic, I'm ignoring your last message.

Note: I was only venting out just in case you were actually putting down asian philosophy. I'm probably going to regret saying this, but I'm in a rough mood now.

God I gotta cool down. *pant* *pant* *pant*

Wow, I find it a bit ironic that an athiest would make a topic called God hates Predator matches. One, you don't think he exsists so therefore by that alone he can't hate anything. Two, if he did exsist, (He does in my oppinion.) You wouldn't know a thing about him like for instance what he hates. I don't think he gives a crap about us writing about Yajuta because if he did he'd say something. So by saying that you become a liar and hypocrite.
