Haven Of Wiidom > Normal Fights > History Swordsmen Tournament (Round 1 Fight 1)

Over the years many warriors have bonded with their swords to form powerful unions of flesh and metal. Such bonds lead to fame and reverence. Now through the magic I hold sixteen such warriors have been brought from across the ages to test those against others like them in a fight to the death. This is a tale of souls and swords eterinally retold but only will be History's greatest swordsman!

The rules of this tournament are simple: Two warriors enter the arena with but their sword andr sheild and/or armor if they have it. Only one comes out. In this match we have two very respectable warriors.

King Leonidas of Sparta: This man needs no introduction. He led those famous 300 at The Battle of Thermopylae for three days. Clearly a warrior who deserves his place here.

El Cid: Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar (c. 1040, Vivar, near Burgos – July 10, 1099, Valencia), known as El Cid Campeador, was a Castilian nobleman, a military leader and diplomat who, after being exiled, conquered and governed the city of Valencia. Rodrigo Díaz was educated in the royal court of Castile and became the alférez, or chief general, of Alfonso VI, and his most valuable asset in the fight against the Moors.

The name "El Cid" comes from the Spanish article El, and the dialectal Arab word سيد sîdi or sayyid, which means "Lord". The title Campeador comes from campidoctor, a medieval Latin word roughly meaning "master of military arts", so El Cid Campeador translates as "The lord, master of military arts". He is considered the national hero of Spain.

Which of these two heroes is the greatest Warrior? This topic will be closed sometime Thursday.

THIS. IS. SPARTA!

Anyway, Leon is a leader of one of the greatest warrior cultures of all time. He never surrenders. he is ruthless and will put his body on the line for the simple honor victory brings.

True, but keep in mind the sixteen hundred year tech difference and the fact the Leon's not with his army.

He's right. It would be a great battle. I think Leonidas would be more ferocious in battle, but Cid would have a more updated style of fighting. It would be close. Very hard pick. Both are national heroes. I'm going for the underdog. Cid.
