Title: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Wingman - July 9, 2008 12:54 PM (GMT)
A hypothetical question: where do you see yourself in 10 years time? I seem myself either working as a high school history teacher, or just getting out of medical school as a doctor. And I'm hopefully married, with a kid on the way. ;)

Bassetman - July 9, 2008 12:59 PM (GMT)
I have no idea. Hopefully I made in/out of college without getting into trouble. :P

I don't really know where a guy that age is supposed to be. But hopefully I'm a full-fledged Movie Critic. :) B)

Maybe you could try to work for some big time magazine or paper.

And if you don't attend a party school, you probably won't get in trouble. Penn State is most certainly a party school, and most of the graduates are less than stellar, if you get my drift.

All of this is funny to me because I'm roughly 10 years older than most of you lol. Lets just say that for me, things turned out a whole lot different in 10 years than I would have ever thought 10 years ago lol!

Well, 10 years from now huh? I would be in my mid 30's *oh god! :( * and I should be a registered nurse, with a 10 year old daughter *my first child is due in 3 weeks! YAY!!!* and hopefully, my own house so I can stop renting.

There ya have it, me in 10 years.

Yeah right. I'll be flying F-22's or F/A-18E Super Hornets in the military, and you'll be falling down on your knees and thanking the good Lord above that I'M the one protecting your sorry butts.

In reality, I'm not completely sure what I want to do.

Thanks everyone! I'm very excited! We're going to name her Kendra. We've got 3D ultrasounds and everything!

Wingman, did you think I was kidding when I said I had a hot pregnant fiancee lol? I have pictures posted on myspace if anyone is interested in seeing them. Just search E-mails for josh_lilbro@hotmail.com

I've got tonnes of baby ultrasound pictures on there. Anyone can even see what my fiancee and I look like. Add me as a friend if you like, I don't mind, it is myspace after all.... My profile is set to private, but I believe all you need is my E-mail to get on. My profile's name is Nursing program! Baby! and Wedding on the way!

I have been on cloud nine durring this pregnancy and I have that "I just want to tell the world" feeling about my first baby!

Well judging by how my life has went so far I dont think Ill live another 10 years. When I had a family life was fun, but in the past few years they all died or turned on me. My fiance left me and my health has turned horrible. I dont think Ill live 10 more years, and if I do it will be unbearable. :(

Man, I'm so sorry to hear that. I feel bad for posting all of the good things in my life now.

If its any consolation, we here at the Haven are like a family of sorts and you are like one of our brothers. If you ever need to get anything off your chest, go ahead and talk to us because we all care about you. Just don't give up the good fight and realize things will eventually get better, no matter how dark things may seem right now.

I know how you feel though and that's why I care about your situation. A few years ago, I was married and had been for going on five years. Then she decided to be with several other guys and we divorced. Those were the darkest days of my life. But out of the darkness came new light. I have my life going good now as I'm sure yours will too, eventually. I wish you the very best square pickle.

Thanks dude. I hope I get to see the new light. The good part is years of darkness will make my mind stronger. Ive been through so many bad time, that I no longer fear the future. I believe that if I survive the next few years, Ill be able to survive anything life can throw at me. Im guessing you already know that. Yep this site is like a family. In a few weeks Im being kicked out of my home because my rich aunt wants her share of my deceased grandma's house. I will disappear from here and CBUB for quite a while, but I wont stay gone, I promise that.

There ya go, as long as you realize that what is happening to you now is only one chapter in the novel that is your life, you will do fine.

As for leaving for a while, I will be doing the same. Just after the baby comes, I will be starting the nursing program at my collage to become a nurse so I probably won't have time to go to CBUB or Haven for a while. Maybe we'll see each other on the flip side and hopefully, everyone will still be here.

Yeah, I've been there where square pickle is right now and let me tell you, its no fun at all. It feels like the entire world is out to get you.

What helped me get through the tough times was my close friends and although none of us here will probably ever meet in person, we are close here.

Square pickle had the guts to share some very personal details of his life and that's something a person doesn't do to people they don't trust. We really are like close friends, or a family of brothers and square pickle needed to hear that just as I did durring my crisis.

The great thing is, I can always count on the fellow members here to care about what goes on in my real life as well as the fun fictional goings on here just as I care about the others here to listen to anything they want to tell me.

If it's ten years later, i assume I'd be like 26-27. So not really sure, but I guess I might already have a job and I'm a few close to marriage. I can only imagine how much my perception on the world would change in a significant transition from mid-teenhood to the end of young adulthood.

Yes, your perceptions of the world will change drasticly over the next ten years.

My best advice to those who are still in highschool is do good now. I started collage when I was 25 and let me tell you, its much harder to secceed in life the older you get although it isn't impossible.

In terms of how to be successful, being a teenhood is much more easy.

But in terms of the fun and boredom of life factor, teenhood has got to be the darkest and bleakest age there is for me.

Excellent. Grano, you shouldn't be a nurse: you should be a psycologist! That was some very uplifting stuff you gave SP. Props, dude. And I do remember you talking about your fiancee, but I didn't remember you saying she was pregnant. I must have missed that. That's great, though.
