OK, from the beggining of the rock era (1950) to today, which of these two countries produced the best rock and roll music? The U.K. includes England, Austrailia, and Ireland.

Comes down to Elvis vs the Beatles. I personally prefer Englesh when it comes to rock, but that's my preference not what is neccesarily better.

Me, I chose the U.K. The British have always made great music, from greats like The Who, The Beatles and Led Zeppelin, to punk like the Sex Pistols, to bands like U2, Midnight Oil and Oasis. U.S. is good, U.K. is better.

Beatles and U2 are mighty good, but Elvis, John Bon Jovi, Metallica, the Beach Boys, the Monkees, Eddie Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, and others put the U.S. ahead.

I will say, however, that one of my favorite all time bands, the Newsboys, are from Australia.

I think US has MORE talented musicians than the UK. That being said the UK has Black Sabbath. In my mind they win.
