Which do you value more? Peace, tranquility, and safety or democracy, freedom, and liberty.

Think carefully before you answer.

Freedom so we could have safety which would give us peace.

Say someone who wanted nothing but to protect us and keep us safe had no freedom thierfore he couldn't keep us safe. But if he did have freedom he could keep us safe.

Ha.

Well if that's your opinion.

I'm with second option. Peace and tranquilty is nonexisten for there will always be issues with the human race. Such as their differing opinions and some people have gone to war based only on that, Democracy allows someone to have the freedom to voices there. Freedom is what helps rein this as well. Safety is kind of involved with Freedom as we have the rights to defend ourselves with guns and etc.

I can go either way, but if I would choose one, the latter is what I would pick. Sure the former is a recipe for utopia, but it would be stagnant, and its nonexistent. Freedom would give us the freedom of defense, and would let us channel responsibility.

SilverSurfer092 - May 25, 2009 04:56 AM (GMT)
Freedom is anarchy. Anarchy, contrary to popular belief, does not equal total chaos. Some people are responsible to be self governed. Liberty is the same as freedom, more or less. Not sure about the right denotations of both. Democracy kind of stops the whole anarchy part of freedom. So the latter.

Granobulax - May 25, 2009 05:46 AM (GMT)
Peace, tranquility, and safety = Less rights and freedom.
Democracy, freedom, and liberty = Less safety and well being.

They both have their trade offs. I would rather be free though.
