Title: Navy SEALS vs. Spetznaz

boratz - May 15, 2009 04:50 AM (GMT)
Russia has come to an agreement with the Taliban. A worldly agreement that may end up in the deaths of millions of people. The President of Russia set a meeting with a Taliban leader about moving WMDs through Russia. The U.S. grew worried about what would happen, and decided to act. Sending in a squad of their top Navy SEALS to elminate the Taliban leaders, and destroy any WMDs. Russia got word of the assault, and decided to act. They got a squad of their special forces SPETZNAZ to to fight the Navy SEALS. In a cold winter in Moscow. The U.S. Navy SEALS make their way into the town. Suddenly, they see the squad of Spetznaz.

Who will win?

Which is better? Navy SEALS, or the Spetznaz?

Spetznaz. Saiga, Marakov, Ballistic knife, must I say more? Also, they have superior training.

These are both highly trained special OPS teams that undergo different types of missions. Both are extremely deadly, but my choice sways with one extremely important factor.

The SEALS have the backing of the most well-funded and tecnologically advanced military in the world, the Spetsnaz do not. Modern technology can win a fight before it has even began and I'm willing to bet that is a factor that would sway the win in favor of the SEALS.

Wouldn't they have lower tech? Technology can really beat a big training difference.

Watch Deadliest Warrior. Green Berets vs. Spetznaz, Spetznaz won. If they can beat Green Berets, they can beat SEALS.

I watched the show and I completely don't agree with it. It's a computer that decides the winner for gods sake. That show, while entertaining, is a joke when it comes to deciding who wins each category. Such as having two old men competing with a hand gun to see superiority. That's bull.

While the Navy SEALS might not have the brutal training that the SPETZNAZ have, they are superior in tactical knowledge and the technology to synergize it.

My dad thought the same thing about the computer. Plus they don't do the same tests for both sides.

Also, a computer can't decide human nature. Such as when they had Green Berets vs. Spetznez, that green beret sucked at shooting a pistol. Well that doesn't apply to every single beret on the field. Just that guy, who probably got to prideful, and didn't take his time to see the targets. Also, when Mafia fought the Japanese Yakuza, a Mafia guy somehow killed a martial arts trained Yakuza with a ice pic, and the Yakuza was carryin' two sais. How the hell does that happen? Also, like the rest. A computer can't decide a someone fights, it may can give statistics, but in a head to head match up, it can't decide. The show is just retarted, but entertaining to watch.

Well, since everyone's giving their opinion on the show, I'll throw my two cents in.

I personally enjoy the show, and agree with the results. As for the reason you've stated, they can all be dismissed.

For one thing, the match is run 1,000 times on the computer (which itself, is extremely advanced), thus eliminating randomness/luckyness.

Second, the weapons are wielded by experts, and the results are all captured by high tech instruments. These all help get accurate results.

Finally, you guys are taking the final scenes too seriously. If the Mafia guy kills a guy with an ice pick, it's done mostly for dramatical effect. Why else, is it that in every match, the fighters get the opportunity to use every weapon and survive it until the very end. (Knight vs Pirate, Knight was shot several times, yet remained fighting.)

The computer merely gives the facts, while the camera crew/producers add in the final fight scenes.

Would a Priate, really be able to take a blow from a morningstar, to the face? Or would a Ninja be that stupid, to go and attack the Spartan?

I love the show but it is simply just entertainment.

Go here for the Aftermath and such. They answer questions.

Exactly.

The fight scenes at the end are merely for fun. Still, the facts remain....

Yeah, facts and a computer cannot determine human nature, or skill. You make can get statistics, but in actual combat it is anyones game. Tests are run differently, and probablby people are run differently. Human emotion, human mindset, and human nature cannot be determine by a super-advanced computer. It's just a machine, it's not a human being.

Agreed.

But it's the closest thing we have. We might as well flip a coin instead.

I guess I agree with you that it is the closest thing we have, but it really can't determine an actial battle. One example is(first off I am a Christian and Disciple, so I may use references): David and Goliath. You put their weapons, their fighting skills, and all that stuff in an advanced computer; it would most likely go with Goliath. Who was a champion amongst his people. David was pretty a farm boy. In the end David was the one who cut off Goliath's head, after knocking him out with a stone. The computer like you said is the closest thing we have, but it probably isn't 100 % accurate, and in combate that makes a bunch of difference.
