Title: Is the New CBUB/FPL going to kill Haven?

The Last Technomancer - May 14, 2009 01:47 AM (GMT)
With all the buzz about the new server Haven's really quiet and once June 1st rolls aound experimting wwill be taking place. The New CBUB/FPL will be taking up a lot of people's time soon and they may just forget about Haven.

Yeah, seriously. It's got me excited. But, this is where CBUB and FPL (noobs) go to chat.

Marvel Man - May 14, 2009 01:53 AM (GMT)
I'm not gonna lie to you.

Yes, I am definetly going to spend most my time on the CBUB. This is what I've been waiting for. The few moments I'll have left, will be used up to manage the CBBB. My free time (and by free, I mean, during dull moments like waiting in line), will be used up thinking of how to improve my FPL character.

I'll pop in and out to win contests though..... B)

Disreguard the PM I sent on EF.

-_- So basicly Haven's on her last leg. Well I'm not going down without a fight! I will do whatever I can to make sure this place survives. However, in the event I should fail I will down with the ship.

It would help if we had more stuff to do/improvements.

One big improvement, is if the topics in the Fiction section weren't erased every 30 days.....

They aren't erased, it's just that the forums have a preset filter that does that. You can g\change the settings in the individual categories. Give me ideas and I see what I can do as I seem to be the only Admin who cares in the midst of EF fever.

I'm just an average joe, I can't do zip in Haven. All I can do is complain, and hope one of the Admins notices my pleas.

As for ideas, I'll try to think of things.

No it the bottom of the screen that shows all the topics there's a pull down window that says show all topic from... pull it down and click on the beginning.

Solomon - May 14, 2009 02:35 AM (GMT)
Im hoping that it wont completely topple this site, but I am expecting a period of low production. I'm not that worried though, like I've sad so many times before being on a site is like riding a roller coaster.

Personally I'll be visiting the FPL more frequently than I have in the past, but I'll still be around.

Wow.

I feel dumb now.
Thanks.

Who says Admins don't help?

Well maybewe should have an Admin meeting on how to minimalize the down time and improve the site.

Sounds good. I don't really see why you think this site is on her last leg. All sites have a period of down time, even electricferret. Anyways there's diffinitely somethings we can do to boost interest in the site. For example people always seems to go nuts when there's a new contest, a big debate, or big news. While we can't control the big news part we can difinitely implement some new contest, and a lot of the admins really enjoy the more serious disscussions, which evidently increases interest more so than most if the throwaway topics we have at haven.

So yeah a meeting sounds like a good idea, but don't even think for a second that this is the end.

videogameman - May 14, 2009 01:15 PM (GMT)
I shall be making a definite return to CBUB. But I'll still vist. That is, if the day limit is still there. Then I'm gone, only able to vist sparsingly. Or I'll take advantage of the quietness and boost my post count above IonKidMax. Pick one.

Bandit - May 14, 2009 02:50 PM (GMT)
Why not do both?

Exactly. Oh, and VGM be careful about "boosting your post count" I might suspend you for spamming if it gets out of hand.

Anyway, I'll try to stay in to at least keep the contests going, because when summer rolls around I get busy. But I'll try to stick with Haven until the end...

Yep.

The contests are what's really keeping me here.
The chit chat/RPs are just extra.

It won't be like THAT. But, with posters gone for a longer period of time, I could bypass them in posts.

Bassetman - May 15, 2009 06:15 PM (GMT)
It'll be slower, sure, but it won't die.

It'll go back up when new problems surface on the supposedly 'new' CBUB.

FPL's safe though.
