GLADIATORIAL ARENA - BATTLE OF HISTORY 4
Shinobi Ninja VS Pirate Captain

-----------------------

In the year 2645, the biggest form of entertainment is as it was nearly 3000 years ago; the Gladiatorial Arena.

In a high tech facility, with authentic hard-light replicas of ancient settings, people from all over the corner of the world (and beyond) do battle. These fights are streamed live instantaneously in 3D projections to billions of households where people can watch the blood spill onto their very own carpets.

-----------------------

Commentator: It has been nearly a minute ladies and gentlemen and neither the Musketeer nor the Sioux have attacked. There have been the occasional feint and a lot of circling, but neither have invested themselves in a decent assault. Both are excellent fighters ladies and gentlemen, so this could take a while.

I should have held my tongue! The Sioux has thrown his tomahawk straight at the Frenchman! My god, that little axe flew through the air like a lightning bolt, yet still the lithe swordsman managed to twist aside at the last moment. He’s like a dancer; a very foppishly dressed, yet psychopathic dancer.

The native has crouched, eyes narrowed. I don’t think he expected his opponent to be anywhere near that quick. But the fight isn’t over yet ladies and gentlemen.

The Brave has decided to finish this fight in close quarters and has launched himself at the Musketeer. He’s batted the rapier aside with a single rolling movement with his shoulder, letting the thin steel slide past him and has buried the tomahawk into the Musketeer!

The Frenchman has howled in pain as his entire left arm has become useless, the jagged blade of the Native’s axe buried deep into his bicep! He’s falling back, blood seeping down his arm in a thick red rivulet.

But he’s not out of the fight yet! Gripping his teeth, and grimly holding on to the rapier with the last of his strength, the Musketeer has thrust forward….

Oh the movement is so beautiful! Ladies and gentlemen, I will keep this moment trapped in my mind for as long as I live. What grace, what elegance! The musketeer is on his feet, front leg bent at the knee, the other behind him straight as his sword. His right arm is stretched out in front of him and his whole body still. The rapier is like an extension of his arm, and it leads straight from his own wrist to the Sioux’s heart!

There is no screaming, no pain, the Sioux’s heart has been transfixed with a foot of steel and he just sighs as the lights go out in his eyes and he slips to the ground. The Musketeer, the lithe warrior from France stands up and is waving to the live crowds, despite having an axe buried in his arm. What a man ladies and gentlemen, what a soldier!

-----------------------

Well, on to the next fight, although I still have a tear in my eye from this last one. What a hero! Must be all the garlic they eat.

Anyway, back to Arena 1 where the scuttlebots have just finished clearing up the blood from our dear Roman Centurion.

Our two fighters today need no introduction whatsoever as they have both been immortalized countless times in cinematic and literary history. But to make things a bit more even and interesting, we have produced some hard light settings.

As you can see, what we have in the arena today is a large ship. Damn she’s a beauty isn’t she? Those sails are nearly fifty feet high, the wood polished until you can see your reflection and there’s even some gold coins scattered around the place.

That’s right ladies and gentlemen; the first opponent is…an authentic pirate captain! Raised since a wee lad on a ship, this fierce psychopath has risen to the top through treachery, heartlessness and countless sword battles. We’ve let him keep his cutlass and a couple of knives but have taken away his guns. He wasn’t happy about that, but then we did give him this lovely new ship.

His opponent has just landed on board as well. The Shinobi Ninja (yes we know that’s not the authentic term, but it sounds good doesn’t it!), a ruthless and highly trained assassin. To even up the odds, we only left him with his sword and his trusted quarterstaff. Will he be able to assassinate the fearless pirate? Let’s just wait and see.

There's no way this fight was chosen at random.

Don't go being pedantic whatever you do... :D

But you are right, this was not chosen at random. Originally it was Musketeer V Ninja and Sioux V Pirate, but I thought this would make things more interesting. Plus the pictures that I had were amazingly similar. Look at them, both with one leg in the air, there was no way they couldn't be matched.

Hope I'm forgiven for this one.....

Aw, the Indian was suppose to win... :(

But I like how we're special enough to get our own tourney. lol. Keep it up!

Bloody_Freak - April 13, 2009 03:35 PM (GMT)
lol. I had this whole reason why the Ninja takes it... But my comp crashed and I lost it. So, I'll just say Ninja FTW since no one else is debating anyway.

The pirate Captian would be a highly skilled swordsman indeed. He would implement devious techniques and would be ruthless, but alas, it would not be enough. The ninja assassin would have the Captain down in mere seconds.

Ninja FTW

Pretty easy fight for the Shinobi ninja. Without his crew, or ship the pirate captain is nothing.

They are fighting on a ship... if that makes any difference. :D

Actually, I think that gives the Ninja more of an advantage. Seeing as how he could flip over the walls and stuff, unlike the pirate. However, you wouldn't happen to have left cannons on board, would ya? Either way, it probably wouldn't make any difference. Cannons are easy to avoid. Perhaps a turn of the wheel could send the Ninja flying if the mast came whirling around... But I bet he could dodge it. Ninja beats him with ease...

Solomon - April 14, 2009 01:33 AM (GMT)
Well thats what I get for not reading the set-up.

Bloody_Freak - April 14, 2009 09:00 PM (GMT)
Whoa, I like Haven's take on this tourney better. The Pirate is winning on the CBUB...

He's standing on the ship. You can't hit him with the mast, that idea is ... really non-sensical.

The hell, I don't know boat talk or pirate talk or any of that kind of talk... The freaking thing that Jack used to hit Will with the first time they were on the boat 2gether in the first movie.

Too bad, too.

The scenario just doesn't work for him.

But pirates are still awesomer.
