Title: Al Gore

Solomon - April 12, 2009 06:02 PM (GMT)
What if he won the 2000 election?

This is for Marvel Man since me, and grano made his old topic too much fun.

Granobulax - April 12, 2009 06:06 PM (GMT)
The world would have ceased to exist.

Darkender - April 12, 2009 09:42 PM (GMT)
Ewww.

Marvel Man - April 13, 2009 04:46 AM (GMT)
Thank you.

And Gore would've been an awsome president.
Still, it seems like there aren't a lot of Gore supporters....

Solomon - April 13, 2009 03:22 PM (GMT)
I respectfully disagree whole heartedly.

Gore? An awsome president? How do you base your assumption?

M Bison - April 13, 2009 04:22 PM (GMT)
He may have been good, or he may have been the drizzling sh!ts.

All we know is, he'd have done better than Bush.

If anyone could have done just as bad or even worse than Bush, Gore would have been the guy.

Bush did set the terrible bar pretty high.

Bandit - April 14, 2009 02:21 AM (GMT)
Hamboy, What do you England folk think about Obama? Also bout Bush?

I read his book....

Marvel Man - April 14, 2009 05:13 AM (GMT)
Why do I think he would've been better?
For multiple reasons:

*takes out scroll*

1. Experience.
Gore had some. Being related to a President doesn't count, nor does governing Texas.

2. Dick Cheney.
The man's dangerous. He should've never been Vice-Pres.

3. Brains.
Gore had some. He wrote a book. He can read.

Bush?
I never saw him read....

4. Global Warming

It exists.

Note: And Katrina was somehow caused by it....

5. He won.

How can the Supreme Court decide?!
The guy with most votes = President.

That's how it should be....

*Spits out coffee*

Wait, there are Americans that seriously believe it doesn't? It's existence is taken as fact by every other nation in the world.

And Bandit, we dig Obama and laugh at Bush. Headlines after Obama's win were along the lines of "The day America became cool again".

...It tasted funny.

Actually I believe that global warming is a hoax. Gore is saying that because of Carbon emissions, the temperature of the earth is generally becoming warmer. One thing he's forgetting though is that earth is warmed by....THE SUN, not carbon emissions. The temperature may or may not be rising, but it's not due to human intereference. From graphs I've seen it's been going up and down since the dawn of time. Ever here of the Global Colding scare in the 70's? Here we are little over 30 years later, and we have a Global Warming crisis on our hands....That doesn't make sense to me.

"It's existence is taken as fact by every other nation in the world."

-Then...what's this?

That documentary was never accepted by government or the general public, it was just an interesting counter argument. I should know, i live in the country it was made in.

Solomon - April 14, 2009 11:03 PM (GMT)
I thought it was refering to the Inconvienent truth.

Either way a goverments opinion can't be counted as the opinion of the general public.

I'm in this country's general public. We believe in global warming.

Solomon - April 14, 2009 11:09 PM (GMT)
First, I don't necessarily believe or disbelieve in Global Warming. I just disagree with Al Gore on how it came to be this way. He says it was brought on by carbon emissions brought on by human interference. I'm saying its a natrual occurence.

Secondly, there are a lot of people in Britain. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure they dont all share the exact same opinion on this.

No, but the majority do, that documentary was very much against the general opinion, hence the controversy.

Solomon - April 14, 2009 11:27 PM (GMT)
Ah now I understand.. Then again just because something is popular doesnt make it true.

Granobulax - April 15, 2009 01:55 AM (GMT)
Global warming does exist. It's called NATURE. People do not have very much to do with it. If you were to look at a football field as 100 yards, the total amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere would represent 3 inches. THREE INCHES. Since records of atmospheric CO2 have been kept, only one inch has been added to that amount. Out ot ONE HUNDRED YARDS of atmosphere.

I use that analogy because it really visualizes the amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere.
