GLADIATORIAL ARENA – BATTLE OF HISTORY 1

-----------------------

In the year 2645, the biggest form of entertainment is as it was nearly 3000 years ago; the Gladiatorial Arena.

In a high tech facility, with authentic hard-light replicas of ancient settings, people from all over the corner of the world (and beyond) do battle. These fights are streamed live instantaneously in 3D projections to billions of households where people can watch the blood spill onto their very own carpets.

-----------------------

Commentator: “Today is March the 29th 2645 and you are watching ARC, the channel with all the blood and all the gore that your family needs. Boy, do we have a special surprise for you today in the GA (Gladiatorial Arena) NYC, where the first bout of our Battle of History competition is about to begin.

(The commentator pauses, glancing about, then looks surprised at the camera.)

“What, you haven’t heard about the Battle of History? Have you been living in a cave for the last year?? For those of you who haven’t, now’s the time to fill up on your nooman pocorn and slezdang hot dogs whilst I fill in our lesser informed brethren about what they’ve missed.

For last year, the good ol’ tech boys at UNASA have been travelling back and forth in time and picking up the greatest warriors from history and bringing them back here for your bloodthirsty pleasure!

Now, in an anything goes fight to the death, they are going to battle it out in….

(Everyone shouts together)

GLAAAAAADD ARENA!!!!!

(Back to the commentator)

Back from the Roman era of our history, we have Marcus Quintus Aurelius, a proud centurion from Caesar’s army. He’s had ruthless training from birth and has fought in countless battles against deadly barbarian hordes.

His opponent from the Japanese era of proud warriors; Takeda Motonari is a samurai with a deadly past. He had fought for his emperor for most of his life and is trained in the deadliest forms of martial arts and sword’s play.

Both of these combatants deserve a great round of applause folks.

AND HERE THEY COME!!! That’s all from me folks, enjoy the show and remember, do not try this at home.

Samurais have better weapons.

If not, they have more Training from Hell

This will actually be a far closer match than most would believe. The Romans were highly trained in combat and war.

I will say though, the Samuri sword is a superior weapon and that will be the deciding factor for this match up.

This is nice. Me likey. I like this Culwych guy. Very creative. I suggest you include a warrior from the Zulu tribe of Shaka (Look it up/Wiki). They were beastly.

Wasn't Zolu a character on the original Star Trek?

You're right though, this is very creative and I for one can't wait to see the others in this tournament.

I saw these guys in a movie they made us watch in High School. The African Shaka Zulu tribe were monsters. Shaka Zulu was considered one of the most brilliant war strategist in military history.

Zolu. :Darkrender:

Mongols!

YEAH!

The poor Centurian is getting trounced. Centurians were good fighters.

granobulax - March 30, 2009 09:51 PM (GMT)
Centurians were excellent fighters.

Hows about throwing ninjas in there too?

Culwych - March 30, 2009 10:37 PM (GMT)
Nice comments guys, and unfortunately I already have the 16 fighters planned for this (although don't worry treach, there is a kind of zulu warrior in there).

I'm surprised how well the samurai is doing in this! Centurions were amazing fighters (and I chose the fighters and pitted them randomly against each other... so Centurion actually had my vote in this).

I could use some help though.. I want to post this onto CBUB, but can't decide which characters to use. I'd like two that would draw some viewers but yet stick to the Roman/Japanese style. Any ideas?????

Got bored and just chose Pious Augustus vs. Samurai on CBUB (http://www.electricferret.com/battle/cbub_matches/330-161650.php). Would be cool if you guys could post a quick comment there so my match doesn't get scratched (or look sad and lonely :D )

This fight is mainly going to be based on Haven, so you can catch all future matches here.

Easy as Samurai vs. search. You'd be surprised how many people dress like Samurai on Youtube.

You made it sound so easy. And here I thought you'd spent hours rumaging around the internet for the perfect videa.
