Title: If I were a Pokemon Trainer

treacherous - February 18, 2009 04:26 PM (GMT)
I figure since there are so many Pokemon fans on this site, I'd do a topic just for them.

If you were a Pokemon trainer, what would be your ultimate line up? If you could only have five to choose from. What would they be? and Why? Go....

granobulax - February 18, 2009 04:34 PM (GMT)
I'm old school so I'd go with Mewtwo because I like a powerful psychic, Moltres for the fire, Zapdos for the electricity, Articuno for the ice, and Dragonite for the dragon powers!

Blissey can possibly have about 800HP. So Blissey isn't bad.

See, several years ago, your team would be beastly.

But nowadays, Pokemon are linked to space and time. They grant wishes, and do other stuff.
Still, good team.

You can actually carry six pokemon so my line up would be:
Umbreon
Walrein
Charizard
Pikachu/Raichu (Doesn't matter which)
Sceptile
Dugtrio
Why, I've played many Pokemon games and the Pokemon listed here are dependable. Note: Edit made because Starapato was deemed unnessary because Charizard coversthe Flying -type.

Guardian of Nesh - February 19, 2009 07:18 PM (GMT)
I can pawn any line-up. Pokemon is all about type matching. My tean, given the right move set would on have moderate troble against the Dragon- type.

Guardian Of Nesh, your team falls to my Blissey/ Wobbuffet Combination.

Charizard and Pika... Are killed by Rhyperior using Stone Edge and Earthquake respectively.

Dugtrio and Charizard if he hasn't died are taken out by Blastoise using surf

Blissey knows Blizzard, killing off your Sceptile

Wobbufet can Counter your Dugtrio (No special attack)

Anything can take your Umbreon- But I think I'd give that one to my physical attacking Salamence.

Rhyperior: Walrein's water moves like surf and dive. or Sceptile's Leaf Blade.
Blastise: Charizard's Fly or Raichu's Thunder respectively. Or Sceptile again.
Wobbefet: Sceptile Leaf Blade as wobbefet is a water/ground type.
Blissey: Anyone can take
Salamance: Is a problem but Chariad could outpower him if not sceptile or Walrein can finish him off.

Walrein could do damage, but Sceptile is too weak, I don't think so.

I dare you to pull out a Charizard against a Blastoise

QUOTE
Wobbefet: Sceptile Leaf Blade as wobbefet is a water/ground type.

Um, no It's a psychic type

QUOTE
Blissey: Anyone can take

Except it can heal itself, use Substitute and has 800 HP.
It knows Blizzard, so your Sceptile might get a bit chilly

QUOTE
Salamance: Is a problem but Chariad could outpower him if not sceptile or Walrein can finish him off.

Salamence>Charizard. Always, Dragon types are known for having high-stats.

Sceptile can't stand up to a Salamence using Fire Fang

Walrein will have probably died already. By Wobbuffet's destiny bond if nothing else.

Secptile's a fully evolved Grass starter, not exactly weak, he was my main staple in Gen. III and played a big part in defeating the Elite Four.
Rhyperior is weak to Grass atacks.
I have pulled out a Charizard on a Blastoise, it's how I beat my rival's Balstoise in the Kanto Elite Four.

Slalmance? Do yo know how many time I beat Dragons with my Charizard?

Wobbefet being a Pyscic type makes in vulnable to my Dark-type UBreon and Bite will mak it flich preventing counter.

Blissy can have *00 HP but Hp isn't everything and Walrein can use the one hit K.O. Sheer Cold.

Pikachu,Raichu: Look above.

Dugtrio: Look at Walrein post.Or Gastly takes it out.

I hate your team because I think people that choose all legendaries suck at Pokemon. Otherwise, you would have a pretty good team, but it can be beat. As it stands, and according to the Pokedex book covering every generation, no Legendary pokemon is the best at his type, special or physical.

Trust me, I know my Pokemon. When it comes to the games, I'll even fight Phalanx for most knowledgeable.

It's been like ten years since I played the game. A whole hell of a lot has changed since then. You're right, I probably don't know how to play the game very well any more. I just picked the most powerful pokemon that I could remember.

So, what would your team look like if you could only use first generation pokemon?
