Title: No U.S. Civil War

How would history had been affected if we just let the Confederacy be?

We would have played a lot less of a rule in WWI,WWII, russia would have stomped us in the cold war.

The confederacy would have allied themselves with britain immediately after the war. (Confederates were counting on the British to help them in the Civil War.) In fact the british built ships for the confederacy, and had them shipped to other countries then had guns put on them. One of the Ships, the alabama, was responsable for sinking 60 Union warships. So if the civil war had not happened I could see a strong alliance between the british empire, and the Confederacy...

Other that... Let me think.

Very good. However I, personally think the Confederacy would come crawling back to the Union. Slavery had been outlawed in Europe, the south's major trade partners. They might've done well at first but I see Europe eventually embargoing them until they end slavery. They refuse, causing the economy to crash and they rejoin the Union in order to stablize themselves.

I'll add this: It's entirely possible that there would still be slavery. The Emancipation was just something Lincoln did to strengthen the Union and weaken the Confederacy, should they choose to return.

However, I think that people have more moral decency than to continue with that.

I said an alliance not a jointment of countries. Although for some reason I dont really see the confederacy entering WWI,or WWII.

Funny thing about slavery:

"Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime where of the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."

"EXCEPT AS A PUNISMENT FOR CRIME WHERE OF THE PARTY SHALL HAVE BEEN DULY CONVICTED."

Theres some food for thought.
