Title: Dr. Doom vs Artemis Fowl the Second
Description: Battle of the strategists

Guardian Of Nesh - January 26, 2008 07:32 PM (GMT)
Dr. Doom has discovered thexsistance of fairies and is planning to exploit them in hopes of destroying the FF. So Section 8 calls upon Holly Short, Mulch Diggums and Dodah Day to stop him. Holly of course knows they're no match for the human criminal genius Viktor Von Doom so she calles on the only human with knowledge of faries who could match his intellect: Artemis Fowl the Second..

So Artemis must capture Doom to win
He has assitance from:
Butler
Holly Short
Mulch Diggums
Dodah Day
Menerva Paradizo
No. 1
Qwan
Qwelfer
A constant connection with Foaly
any LEP/Section 8 tech they need.

Doom Must capture and or kill the opposing team to win
he has:
All of his Equipment/tech/magic
is in his castle
knows Artemis is coming (Artemis knows this)

So who wins the battle of the minupulative geniuses?

I know this seems handicapped but it really boils down to Artemis' plan vs Doom's plan(s)/

No, he just goes against people who have tech that makes doom's look like tinker toys, can wipe memories and stop time through tech. People just as smart as Doom (Opal Koboi, Menerva Paradizo and Foaly), hoardes of fire-flinging goblins, a pack of trolls and most recently An army of blood-thirty demons while trying to undo unraveling Time tunnel. This a debate, I'm the Devil's advocate.

I forgot to mention that he's the only human EVER to translate Gnomish into English or any language. Stole fairy tech and made the world's smallest super compter and deciphered the mathematic equaton for the exact spot of a demon's apperence in the real world.

Doom is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay smarter.

He exploited a weakness something anyone could do if they no the other persons weak points. Like i could beat Superman.

Not if he blitzes you before you pull out Kryptonite or get some red son radiation. That's the thing, Doom would have to find his weakness, exploit it, and get around Beyonders omnipotensy. Pluss he jacked power from the Surfer too.

Arty can and would do the same thing to Doom; find and exploit his weakness.

Doom needed knowlege and prep time to steal Beyonder/surfer's powers and got his butt kicked to get that knowledge. While Artemis went against the fairies who could alot of things omnipotents can on a smaller scale (i.e. Time stop/ the blue rinse which is the equivalent of a nuke that only hurts living things and has no radioactive fallout, etc.) but Artemis didn't enter any confict until he knew exactly what he was up against and knew how to counter it. So in my book Artemis is smarter than Doom.

hamboy - January 27, 2008 12:22 AM (GMT)
Yea, he needed prep. And so did Artimese. But Beyonder and Surfer>>>>Fairies. Plus Doom has taken over the world twise. It's harder to take overthan to save the world, as has been proven in fiction and real life.

Did you forget my point about him getting his butt kicked, before and eventually after he wins. Artemis always wins in the long run. even after he was mind wiped he made sure he'd get his memory back. Artemis Fowl doesn't lose; he pretends to lose so he can get you in the end. Doom always gets trounced on the end. nuff said.

hamboy - January 27, 2008 12:38 AM (GMT)
Trounced by a super genious who can beat Galactus on pure brains? Sure.
But what happened when he took over the world? No one stoped him. He just found it boring and gave it up.

Artemis is now slouch. The kids a Super-genius who is so smart he makes his enemies play into his hands and make them think they've won. Artemis may get slightly over-convident but he still gets past it and pulls it out. Doom gets severly overconvident then falters and falls.

hamboy - January 27, 2008 12:58 AM (GMT)
Lots of villains are beaten like that by lots of heroes. It's nothing special. Doom has dealt with the taktical mind of Captain America, the genious mind of Reed Richards, the pure power of lots of heroes, and still has one of the best win loss records in all of villainy. He wins quite a lot.

Yeah but Artemis is reed-level genius and Captain America-level tactian, who can work on the fly. He has Magical bakup (fairies), tech that Doom wishes he had, (complents of the centaur Foaly) and the ever useful mind-controlling mesmer that makes even the stongest humans putty in a fairy's hands.

What makes you think he is Reed or Cap level?

I've posted my argument throughout.

None of wich compares to Reed. The guy shrinks Galactus, or drives him of on pure brains. He is deus ex machina brains in the same way Strange (Who Doom comes a close second too) is deus ex machina magic.

Reed = scientific genius
Artemis = all-around genius.

Reed's feats may seem more impressive but I don't think he could've translated Gnomish.
Artemis on the other hand i have no dought could've built Ultamate Nullifier

hamboy - January 27, 2008 01:30 AM (GMT)
It wouldn't be hard for Reed to translate an antient, super difficult language.
On what grounds can you say that Artemese could build a nullifier?

Wingman - January 27, 2008 11:32 AM (GMT)
Artemis isn't as ruthless as Doom; after the first book, he began having his change of heart. Butler, on the other hand, is a seasoned battle veteran, and IS ruthless and determined when the time comes. I see Artemis winning this by using Doom's own ego as his weakness and exploiting it. Artemis doesn't have a weakness, except for caring for his friends, and they'll stay out of the way for the plan. It has been stated before that Doom's one weakness is his huge ego, and that often gets in the way of him succeeding in his goals. Arty wins. Hopefully Quan and Queffor,an N1 if he's there, can beat off Doom's potential magic attacks. After all, Doom is second only to Dr. Strange in terms of magical power.

videogameman - February 16, 2009 06:28 PM (GMT)
Doom. The biggest theaht in Marvel. Unpredictble, genius, clever. He has magic too.

Marvel Man - February 17, 2009 12:10 AM (GMT)
I'm a fan of the Artemis Fowl books/franchise, but c'mon.

Against Doom?

Artemis is smart to the point of predicting a time warp, handling advanced and magical tech, creating masterplans, etc.

Doom is smart to the point of beating Mephisto (in his own realm), stealing Pre Retcon Beyonder's powers, stealing the Surfer's powers, etc. And those are his old feats.

Now, add the fact that Doom has his own country, built his own time machine, and a whole lot more, and Doom wins.

Agreed.

Doom just has access to a host of greater tech than Art does.
