Phalanx - October 13, 2008 09:45 PM (GMT)
I created this topic just to revive the "Ask [Member]" topic and to get that other certain topic out of the way.

Rules: You may ask me anything up to 10 questions at a time. I will only answer all your questions if I have the time.

My real question is who is Eris?

She is the goddess of strife and discord in Greek mythology. The Romans refer to their version of her as Discordia.

She was responsible for sneaking into Achille's parent's wedding uninvited and made Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite fight over a golden apple and thus all this quarrel led to the Trojan War. Yup, she is just that sneaky.

Why did you pick your name and where did you get it?

ah yes, I've been asked that for more than once.

All I can say is that I got Phalanx from an attack of a distant friend's/former worst enemy's persona.

The Phalanx attack according to him involved tearing one's vital points fatally killing them or something like that.

and I picked it, just so I sound a little cool and tough.

But here's one fact you guys didn't know. When I was on nintendodiscussion, there was another guy named Phalanx who kinda flamed me back and forth and got on my nerves.

For example; If Wolverine can beat Lobo (I believe it happened in a crossover) and Lobo can beat Superman, then Wolverine should be able to beat Superman. Even though they've never faced each other and Superman would slaughter Wolverine in a fight.

But I keep hearing in Pokemon vs. debates especially about the strongest pokemon's abilities and they all get dismissed by non-pokemon fans as video game mechanics and some of the pokemon fans mentioned about "ABC" not getting through their head.

Hunting for feats in the character's respective series is kinda fun.

But the reason comic fans prefer feat logic is because issues of each superheroes come out all the time for like 78 years and there are millions of feats you can find.

For video games, there aren't much products being produced in the series, so it's extremely inconvenient and pressuring to be going by feat logic.

I guess I was never a fanboy of them for the reason that they're too iconic and commercialized to the average audience like myself.

If there was one thing you'd like to change about Haven, what would it be?

To Granobulax: I am not so sure.

To Ripper: see above.

Now folks, I just want to know, What does it mean people in vs. threads say about "ABC" logic? What are they trying to say?

A can beat B so B must be able to beat C

examples of when and what that term is applied to?

For example; If Wolverine can beat Lobo (I believe it happened in a crossover) and Lobo can beat Superman, then Wolverine should be able to beat Superman. Even though they've never faced each other and Superman would slaughter Wolverine in a fight.

Oh.

But I keep hearing in Pokemon vs. debates especially about the strongest pokemon's abilities and they all get dismissed by non-pokemon fans as video game mechanics and some of the pokemon fans mentioned about "ABC" not getting through their head.

Some people hate ABC logic. Comic fans like feats logic where as a DBZ fan will look more at the ABC logic.

Yea I like Feats as evidence...

But the feat system does hinder the magic and power of your favorites. Especially those NES and SNES era video game characters.

I know very little of video game heroes and stuff, because I'm not a Big video gamer.

Just like I'm not a BIG comic fan. In fact, i'm just like your average person who knows only of dc and marvel superheroes through cartoons, movies, and other merchandising. I guess I was never a fanboy of them for the reason that they're too iconic and commercialized to the average audience like myself.

Well I'm more of comic book guy even though I"m not that up on my comic knowledge that much...
