I'm glad you asked. The original reason I had the desire to construct this forum from my very hands was because I needed a place to seek refuge to from the persecution of the pokemon. I was kinda tired of their kind being underestimated and derided by CBUB'rs amany, so I made this place as a safe stronghold monastery for them (I even made a safe haven).

Ever since my care and faith for pokemon kinda died down gradually, I no longer found the safe haven useful and the purpose of this forum became just another forum I have owned in the 4 years I have been on the internet.

1. I just turned 17 on July 19 last month.

2. In the first few minutes, it would be a stalemate, but if Hercules later finds out Achille's weakness, hercules should win. His super-strength is too much for him.

3. Well to answer your question, I saw her movie like 5 years ago on my birthday and she seemed kinda seductive in a way that you feel in love with her almost. Of course during that time, I didn't care much about her or mythology for that matter. I love her simply cause of the fact that she's a villianess like no other. She has her scary goddess powers and that cute look at the same time and Eris seems like a pretty unique deity in mythology like no other. The movie was kinda cool and sometimes I even pictured armorless Samus as her.

4. Nowhere as much as Sinbad Eris, but I guess she's cool and funny, too.

If she stated in the beginning of the movie that she could already cause planetary chaos by pulling a single string, then I guess she could, she does seem to exhibit full control over Earth. She can probably also manipulate the weather and ignite natural diasasters.

Now any more questions? I'd be glad to answer them.

I'm not really a sony fan nor even a gow fan, but I don't know. I guess it should if it would satisfy discordian fans.

To treacherous: I'm surfing and i'm trying to make my new Harold & Kumar vs. Ermac match.

Are there any turn style RP games for any Nintendo systems that stack up against Final Fantasy?

I love Nintendo so much but I never have seen such a game... :(

Golden Sun/ Golden Sun the Lost age rocked. They were a little heavy on the dialouge; just to warn you but the compexity (in a good way) of the class system and battle stragies more than made up for it. I loved to tinker with the Djinn. :D

Actually, I played and beat both of those on my old Gameboy Advance. I forgot about them. Yeah, they rocked. I had both walkthroughs so I could find and capture all of the Djiin. The games were a little on the easy side, but still highly enjoyable.

Honestly, I still liked the RP's for the Playstation better though. My all time favorite was "Legend of the Dragoon". Nintendo is still superior in every other faucet of gaming though! :D

Who is your favorite deity and who do you think is the most powerful?

Phalanx - August 4, 2008 10:20 PM (GMT)
IonKidmax:

1. I got my username from someone else on instant messenging. Some friend/ex-nemesis of mine had a persona/fictional character made up and he used "Phalanx" as one of his attacks assigned to him. I thought it was cool, so I used it.

2. This is a rather long story, but my reason is cause Zeus is a more world-renown and mainstream god than Odin, but that's not really the real point. I love Zeus more simply because I think he is more awesome and visually pleasing. I know he's done some crazy things against nature, but that's just his much darker and worse side, mind you Odin fanboys.

Another reason is that Zeus embodies certain ideals, power, and greatness in my very eyes and Odin's never really gave me the same appeal ever. All Odin ever had for me in store was my symbolic view for him as a rebel to the ways of established society that I oppose. And since i'm kinda sick of fanboys of norse myth acting all arrogant and snotty towards the greek, roman, egyptian, and other pantheons in general, I picked Zeus since he cares more about human achievements than Odin ever had with his indifference, but that's just me again.

3. Don't care for either.

Granobulax:

Favorite: Well mostly anyone from the Greek and Roman pantheon, but to be more specific, i'll make a list in no particular order:
Apollo(greek), Zeus, Ares, Poseidon, Athena, Eris, Hades, Jupiter, Apollo(roman), Mars, Mercury, Venus, Neptune, Pluto, Chaos, the AlCHAOTHEON*, and GOD (in my own personal ideal image of Him that is). That's all I can list for now.

Strongest: From an unbiased point of view, the rank of each pantheon and their state deities mostly depends on what culture you were brought up in or is more accustomed to, with the Abrahamic God as the only exception to this rule. Note that the teachings of monotheism does always inform you that the one being is unparalleled in the meaning of omnipotence and other divine qualities of the highest order.

From my preferred point of view at this point, I would say that Christianity and Judaism's interpretation and conceptions of GOD (from the original idea lying in the roots of the first ancient Israelites: Abrahamic, Isaac, and Jacob) has always been undisputed and unquestioned as the strongest deity in all existence.

However, from my own opinion, if I were to exclude God, Jesus Christ, and/or the Holy Ghost as the leading deity of the uni-omniverse, the strongest deities on my list in rough, but not exact order would be:
-ALCHAOTHEON*
-Chaos
-Whatever equivalent the romans have to Chaos.
-Gaia or any other primordial deity in the greek myth
-Terra (roman equal to gaia)
-Ouranos/Cronus
-Zeus
-XuanXuan
-Jupiter
-Brahma
-Shiva
-Vishnu
-Apollo
-Sun Wukong
-Jade Emperor
-Hercules
-Thor
-Odin
-Eris
-Loki
-Athena
-Ares
-Hermes

The list is in incomplete. Next time i'll make a better tier-list on who's the strongest in their respective pantheons.

Ok, here's one for ya. Hypotheticly, if a monotheistic "God" such as the christian version were to clash with the combined might of all of the polytheism "Gods" from, say, Greek and Roman mythology, which side do you think would win?

It's about time someone asked me this question actually.

My theory on this is divided into two camps: christian-jewish and mine.

Christian-Jewish thought: If we're going by a strict monotheistic viewpoint, then God easily stomps all of them by an infinite margin as he is the one who created the universe (or omniverse to measure up to full comic terms) and absolutely no creation of his can be superior or even close to being equal to Him.

My own "pagan" thought: God would still win by several miles, but in my secular case, it would be a REALLY REALLY REALLY close fight. The only way any pagan god could beat GOD is if GOD allowed himself hard enough to somewhat lose, but that would never happen, since that's impossible and contradictory for his nature. Contrary to what followers of the Abrahamic religions say, I believe there are a select few number of gods that can be completely or remotely near God's base power such as Chaos, Zeus, Ouranos, Pangu, Gaia, Daoist Trinity, MY ALCHAOTHEON, and couple more that I'm too lazy to list.

PS - MY ALCHAOTHEON is a pantheon of five major gods and at least two minor gods with external appearances roughly modeled after certain terrestrial animals to symbolize specific attributes and ideas universal to the world/the universe/and me. They are near-omniversal level cosmic-type gods that encompasses all and favorably watches over the worlds of our solar system, most primarily Earth (They love it), and everything significant and essential in it. That's all the description I can give them at this point and they are all copyrighted by me. Yes they're my own creations.

Have you ever thought about becoming a historian of mythology? I have read up on a little Greek and Roman mythology myself durring a Psychology class I took at my collage about a year ago and there are people who make a living of this sort of thing...

Never thought of being a historian of mythology let the alone the fact it could earn you a great living.

So any more set of questions? I'd be excited to answer them all.

I don't know as of yet, since they both seem to have their own advantages/disadvantages and most of them end up being killed by a god or a hero.

However, Medusa's ability of petri-vision seems unparalleled.

7. My choices vary from year to year such as Digimon (1999-2002), The Simpsons (1997-present), Pokemon (1999), Family Guy (2008), Billy and Mandy (2007-present)
8. I think maybe, 25? Cause then I'll still get to enjoy life without responsibility of having children.

Logically yes, if they exerted an equal amount of power towards each other. But I think Medusa is stronger at petrify vision than an incarnation of the basilisk.

How's about native american mythology? Do you think it stacks up there at all?

In terms of being a top pantheon? Well if you're accustomed to the culture, then I'll be happy to say yes.

From an unbiased point of view, every pantheon (except the God of Abraham, Issac, Jacob of the ancient Israelites) can be equal and it's always the highfathers and the creator deities that make up the stronger points of them.

I think.

No time for brain teasers as Otto from the Simpsons would say.
