This was definitely a situation that Ethan never imagined himself to be in; not because it was weird to be taking Emily out - well maybe it was a little bit. But that wasn't anything against her, it was just because she was Ryder's sister and that was his best friend, so of course he was bound to worry a little. But now it had gotten to the point where they both established that they liked each other and he at least wanted to take her out just to see if it was going to be awkward. He had been with girls before but he had never dated too extensively before, so he knew that this was definitely a big deal for him. Which meant that for once he had to approach his older sister's and ask for a completely serious conversation about how he should approach this and what he should do because let's be honest, he was a little bit dumb sometimes. They had suggested that he take Emily out to the pier because it wasn't a high pressure scenario like it would be if he took her out for dinner because if things got awkward, then they'd probably stay that way for the rest of the night. At least this way he could sway her with the ferris wheel or something~ After getting himself ready, Ethan took the short drive to her house and knocked on the front door a few times, expecting either Emily or one of her siblings to answer. But no, it was Mrs Khan! After asking if he was looking for Ryder, Ethan had to explain how he was looking for Emily which gained a few sly looks from the woman but he tried not to let it bother him as he waited for her to go and get her daughter~

Emily never thought that she would ever get to go on a date with Ethan. She had definitely had her little girly fantasies about it but she didn't expect it to ever happen. She was all kinds of nervous, and spent a good amount of time changing her outfit. She went from wearing a dress to a skirt and v-neck to many other things. She just could not decide on an outfit that was right. But then she realized that she was just kidding herself, and honestly she wasn't being herself. And wasn't being yourself important for dating? She sucked at all of this. So finally she decided on her batman outfit. Why? Because it was comfortable and it definitely screamed Emily. She didn't do much with her hair, letting it fall naturally, wavy, and messy. Her make up was always simple but she still tried to make herself look as good as possible. She sighed deeply, waiting for the knock at the door. She nearly died when she finally heard it, and then she heard her mother calling for her. Now that was going to be something that was definitely difficult to explain. "Coming!" When she got down the stairs, her mother gave her a look like what the hell is going on Emily. She just gave her mother a small smile and walked over to the front door, where she saw Ethan and she nearly melted. This was definitely all real. "Hi." She said quietly, pushing at her hair and smiling at him.

Ethan was pleased that he had gotten over the issue of her being Ryder's sister, because the male was fairly certain that of all the people his sister could date, he wouldn't disapprove of him. Or maybe that was him being a little egotistical but he didn't really care! There were plenty of jerks in the world and Ethan knew that he definitely one of those people cause he had a conscience, and he was British so that obviously meant he was a charming little soul. Of course this made him realise now that he was actually here to pick Emily up for a date, and that made him all the more nervous because he had no idea if her mother was going to say anything to him about the matter. He wouldn't be surprised, because she was definitely protective of her children! However he was rather relieved that she refrained from quizzing him about their plans and instead got Emily so that everyone could continue with their evening. As soon as she came into view, a grin formed on his face and he averted his gaze to Mrs Khan for just the shortest of moments. "Hey," he spoke with a smile, leaning against the doorframe slightly. "You look nice, I like your shirt." Oh my god he probably sounded like a ten year old but it was really awkward when her mom was just stood right there. "Are you ready to go?"

Emily was beyond happy that Ethan finally got over the fact that she was Ryder's sister. She understood that it was sort of hard for him because she was his best friends baby sister, but she thought that it was stupid for him to not want to date her because of the fact. She knew that Ryder would approve of Ethan over a lot of guys that would go after Em. So honestly, this was probably an ideal situation. Ryder trusted Ethan not to be a sleazeball and there was no issue. Mama Khan looked a little weirded out, because she didn't expect this. She just slowly walked away, looking back once before heading into the kitchen. Emily just tried to ignore her mothers stare and she just tried to keep her attention on Ethan. "Thank you. You look really good yourself." She said with a smile. "I'm definitely ready to go." She said with a nod. "My mom wasn't weird about anything right?" She said as she headed out the door, looking at him. She really hoped that her mother didn't bother Ethan about him picking her up. She knew how protective her mother could get and she didn't want Ethan to be uncomfortable at all.

With all of the issues that Ryder was having with his own relationship nowadays, he knew that he definitely wouldn't spite the male for going for it with somebody who he actually really liked. Besides, Ryder was too busy getting it in with his new lover to be overly concerned about what his little sister up to which was perfect for Ethan, really. He only really had to put up with Damian teasing him which was bad enough, but at least he knew he could beat his little Irish ass up and that would be the end of that. If this had been his mum that was stood there, she definitely would have been full of questions so he appreciated that the woman just casually slipped out of the room as though she had never been there. He didn't cope well under high pressure situations, my poor bb. "Well I should hope so, I spent far too long trying to pick out an outfit," he spoke in a joking tone, because really Ethan went for the first thing that looked clean and appropriate. "Awesome." He was just eager to get away from her house because he'd probably relax a little once they weren't so close to her family. "She wasn't too weird... I got a couple of looks every now and again but she didn't ask me hundreds of questions." Grinning, he walked her over to his car and held open the passenger door for her, being a polite gentleman and all!

Emily was pretty happy that no one was being a bother about the two of them. Then again, she didn't know that Damian was being an obnoxious asshole -- but that's just who the Irish boy was. She just wanted to avoid anything being weird, and if someone was being annoying about them, it was bound to go bad. She didn't want that to happen at all obviously. She wanted for everyone to treat the situation like they would any other. No one really should be saying anything just because of who her older brother was, it was purely ridiculous. She wouldn't have known what to do had she got interrogated by anyone. She would just get too nervous and be like... beet red. She wasn't good with high pressure situations either, so the two of them would be a mess in that kind of situation. She laughed, "Well you look wonderful, so I guess all that effort payed off." She smiled at him. She herself actually went through many outfit changes to look good so she hoped to hell that she did actually look good. "Well I'm happy she didn't badger you with ridiculous questions." She laughed lightly. "Why thank you sir." She gave a little curtsy and got into the car. She then realized how nerdy that probably was and mentally kicked herself.

Ethan just wanted a normal date with Emily without thinking about how she was Ryder's sister, or how Damian seemed to religiously tease him about potentially getting himself a new lady friend. At least he knew that if he had to, he could kick Dam's ass and he'd probably get the message that he had to stop picking fun at him all the time! Ethan is obviously a delicate flower, it isn't fair. Really though, tonight was going to let them test the waters so that they could see if things were going to go well or not. He didn't understand the people who asked somebody to be their girlfriend when they hardly knew them, because he liked to get to know whoever he was going to date first and then take it from there. And considering that he had known Emily for a great portion of his teenage life, it was safe to say that she was no stranger to him. He wasn't really a stranger to the entire Khan family so he felt fairly confident that if something were to come of this then at least her mom would like him. He had always been polite with her and gave her no reason to think ~wow look at this huge jackass. Grinning at her words, at least they both weren't looking like ugly trolls. "Well, she hasn't yet. If this turns into a regular thing she might start quizzing me off the sly," he spoke with a slight frown, but hopefully that didn't happen otherwise he'd crumble under all of that pressure. "You're welcome." Closing the door and hurrying round to the passenger seat, he started his car and backed out of her driveway.
