Adam had been home for about a week, mostly catching up on sleep and television. He loved touring and being out and about in the spotlight, but it was nice, to just relax and not have to worry about anything. He liked lounging around and just worrying about...well nothing at all. He had a month or so until he needed to round the band together, and start on new material, but it could work. Currently, he was sitting on his couch, writing in a journal he usually had with him, whenever inspiration decided to hit. And one was coming to him right now, when he heard someone knock on his door. He groaned, not sure who it would be. He doubted it was the band, because they were all busy with their own personal lives, and if it was their manager or his PA, they would have called him first. He set his stuff down, stretching as he walked over, unlocking the door. He was just about to ask what the person wanted, when he stood, in shock, instead. He rubbed at his eyes, wondering if he was in some sort of dream, or just not seeing right. Because he's pretty sure the person looking back at him...was him. He literally didn't know what to say.

Devin wasn't sure what he was doing. Coming to Chicago, to find his brother, wasn't something that Devin was ready for. He was dreading it, actually. He didn't know what was going to happen. Devin wasn't the type of person that was very confident with himself. He just had to remember to keep a level head. That he couldn't freak out on the male, if he didn't believe him. All he knew about Adam, was that he was a singer. He'd even looked him up, and heard a few of the male's songs. He was good, had a different taste, that Devin wasn't used to, but he wasn't bad. Devin had gotten a one bedroom apartment, on the outskirts of Chicago, because it seemed like all the ones downtown, seemed to be high priced, and since he didn't have a whole lot of money, he had to make do, with what he could afford. He took a bus, into Chicago, getting off a few blocks from the address he held in his hand. Hands shaking, and heart beating like crazy, Devin made his way to Adam's apartment, and to his door, where he knocked twice, and then stepped back, to wait. When the door opened, Devin stood there in shock, because the male before him, looked just like him. His mother hadn't been lying. Fuck. Biting his lip, Devin wanted to turn around and walk away. The fear of rejection was over powering. Something he was used to. The male had slightly longer hair then he did. Where as, his was spiked up in the front, but they still looked the same. Same blue eyes, same lips, same cheeks, same everything. "Uh.. hi," He mumbled, looking down at his hands.

Adam…couldn't believe it. He felt like he was in some sort of a stupor. He kept his eyes on the other, examining everything. He stepped out a little more, looking around. "Is…is this some sort of joke?" Adam asked curiously because as far as he knew, he didn't have a twin. But this guy looked exactly like him. Adam was wondering if he was getting punk'd or something. There were rumors that the show was going to be back on, and you never know who or when someone could get pranked. He was famous, but not up there yet, and so he figured that he was going to be okay. It would just suck….getting humiliated on national television. When Adam was younger, he had wanted to have a brother or sister, someone to hang out with but oh well. Things were as they had been and that was that. Adam looked at him again, leaning against his doorway. "Can I help you with something?" Adam asked feeling a little awkward. He knew it wasn't right to stare, but fuck…he felt like he was looking into a mirror.

Yeah, this was a mistake to come, Devin could feel that, when he male looked at him, like he had eight legs, and four eyes, or something. He hated when people looked at him that way. Sure, they looked alike, he was sort of taken by surprise, but he wasn't acting like Adam was right now. At his question, Devin couldn't help the snort the left him, as he rolled his eyes. "Yeah, because I spent tons of money, getting plastic surgery, to look like you." He snapped. He didn't mean to, honestly, he was just so damn nervous, and here the guy was, trying to make it look like someone had paid him big bucks to come here and trick him into thinking he had a twin, or something along those lines. Looking up at the male, he shook his head, but spoke anyways. "Yeah.. I'm your brother.." He trailed off, glancing up for a moment. "I'm sure your like, 'yeah, sure you are', but I have proof. Though, I don't feel comfortable telling you, while I'm standing here, and your looking at me like I'm a crazy person." His voice got soft at the end, because he'd been called crazy enough times in his life, that he was honestly sick of it, but whatever.

Besides the fact that Adam tended to be sort of a dickhead, he was just in shock, at what he was seeing before him. He couldn't believe, that this guy could possibly be his brother, no, his twin. His twin. How could he not have known this ever. It sort of made sense, a few times he had seen photos of himself in places he hadn't been or could recall. Maybe someone had just snuck a picture of this guy...instead? It was so strange. Adam rolled his eyes at the sarcasm, but he was right. He doubted someone would go through all of that, just for a prank. Adam gave a nod, and then at his words, realized, that he was being weird about this."I...S-sorry." He cleared his throat, standing up straight, and moving his arm to offer him to come in. "Well, come on in." Adam told him, but more inviting. If this was true, he of course wanted to see the proof, and the story. He wanted to know what in the fuck must have happened. "Do umm....you want something to drink?" He asked because he definitely needed one, as in something strong, not just water or a coffee or something. He closed his door once the other male was inside, going towards his large kitchen, pouring himself a drink.

Devin just had a bad feeling about all of this. He should have known, that the male would think that it was some sort of joke. He was famous after all, so he probably got a lot of things like this. Weird people showing up around him, who thought they knew every thing about him, or some shit. Ugh. Devin couldn't help the smart ass remark that came out of his mouth. That just happened when people pushed on his buttons and something about the guy not believing him, just irked the shit out of him. Though, he had to keep reminding himself that Adam knew nothing about him. Hell, Devin had only known about Adam for a short time now. Since he'd become famous, and people thinking that Devin was Adam. That had been a confusing ordeal. Shrugging as Adam apologized. "It's fine.. I guess I can see your point." He looked down at his hands, but then back up, as Adam invited him in. Taking a step forward, he could feel his hands shaking. He'd never had to do something like this before. Nodding, he looked up. "S-Sure.. have anything strong?" He asked, knowing that probably wasn't a good idea, but whatever. This was stressful.

Adam wasn't sure what to make of this situation. Here, in his apartment, was his twin? How had he never known about this before? It made sense though now, whenever people showed him pictures of him in another state, which was impossible. He shrugged it off, thinking maybe he was just too hungover to remember? But he remembered seeing the photos and thinking there was no way he owned that outfit, or did his hair differently for a day. It was just so confusing. Adam couldn't help but smirk at his answer, grabbing another glass. "We must be related." He told him, grabbing an old scotch he had. Both great tasting and pretty strong. He finished the drinks, bringing one over to Devin before taking a seat in the arm chair near his couch. "So...." He asked, obviously wanting to know how in the world they were brothers but never knew. Or well, Adam never knew because he had no idea how long Devin had known.

Devin wasn't sure how he was going to tell Adam about what he knew. He really didn't want to go into detail on his life, so maybe he could just keep it short and sweet. Just tell him more about his mother, and what she'd done. Then, there was his disease, he really didn't want to talk about that, but.. if he had it, maybe he should tell Adam, just in case. He wasn't sure what Adam had gone through, as a kid, but if it was anything like Devin's life, then maybe they had something in common. "Yeah.." He laughed lightly. Taking the drink when it was handed to him, Devin took a drink, as he sat down on the couch. Setting the glass down on the coffee table, he grabbed the envelope, and pulled out his birth certificate. "This.. was the original.. from the hospital, before my mother.. or well.. the surrogate mother, paid the doctor to cut me out of the equation.." Devin slid the paper over towards Adam. "About a year ago... I started getting people following me.. and stopping me for autographs, and.. I didn't think anything of it.." He shrugged. "Then.. a few months ago.. my mother told me everything.. and I decided that I needed to find you.." Devin left out the part of his sickness, because he was sure that all of this right now, was enough to take in.

Adam just couldn't believe what was happening. He had a twin, he never knew about. It just seemed so....so fake almost. Something he saw in those movies or something. Fuck, he didn't know. He watched curiously, as Devin pulled out the certificate, taking it and looking at it. The name, the mother, was the woman's name. He looked up at Devin, dumbfounded. "We...I mean...my mom..she kept in touch with her..for years." He almost felt sick. This woman had pretty much kidnapped his twin. Kept him from him and his family. "How...could they let that happen?" Was everyone really willing to do anything, for money? He set the certificate on the table, putting his hands together, and pressing his thumbs against his mouth. He cleared his throat, looking over at him. "Were you...sick growing up?" It was something he was nervous about admitting to, because he didn't want the public to know. He just...felt like he had to trust him, or at least, that he could. He reached over, grabbing his glass, taking another drink of it.

Devin wasn't sure what was going through Adam's head. He was sure that he was confused, as well as angry, for something like this happening. He hated to be the one to track Adam down. He could potentially be ruining his life, for coming into the picture after all these years. Sure, Adam was being nice right now, but what if he didn't want Devin in his life? Then what would he do? As Adam spoke, Devin nodded lightly. "Yeah.. she told me about it. She's a really good liar. My whole life, I grew up believing that I was an only child." Devin explained, looking down at his hands. "I guess some people would rather have money, then.. making sure kids were put with their families." He shrugged lightly. Devin really didn't want to talk about it, because it was a sore subject. He knew though, that he needed to tell Adam things. As Adam brought up the sickness, Devin couldn't help but to look down at his hands and nod. "Yeah.. I was really sick as a kid. chronic lung disease, anemia, which I still have.. and a few other things." He explained. Devin wasn't sure if he wanted to open up and tell Adam about the Wilson's disease yet. He figured that might be too much at first. Biting his lip, Devin looked up at Adam, just to see the reaction on his face. He doubted the man would care, but he was at least hoping, just a little bit, that he did.

Adam was still confused, as well as angry. He had gone his whole life, without a sibling, another person there, and yet, he had someone the whole time. He had wished and wished for years for one and it turned out that he was taken from him. He was angry, at this woman more than anything. She had taken him from his family. He figured he shouldn't have been shocked, that Devin was sick, because if they were twins, then that meant both of them were early. "Me too...I still have anemia too...and I'm allergic severely to nuts." That had been scary, when he was little and had an attack from a PB&J sandwich. He had probably twenty Epipens in his home, plus everyone he was close to had one on hand, just in case. He stood up, running his hands through his hair. "I can't believe this..." He said, his hands going over his face. "I mean...I..I believe you but...how could she do something like that?" He sighed, sitting back down. He reached over, taking another drink of the one he made for himself. "Do you live here...in Chicago?"

Devin wasn't sure how this was all going to go. What kind of questions would Adam have? That's what bothered him a little. He didn't know how much Adam would want to know, and how much he'd have to open up and tell him. He surely didn't want to talk about himself all that much, and what had happened to him growing up. All the men that his mother, or well, fake mother, had brought into the house. Or the night of his senior prom. Those times, were something that he really didn't want to deal with. Allison was the only person that knew about everything that had happened, and he knew that his secrets were safe with her. Devin could tell that Adam was angry, just by the way he was sitting. He was his twin, so they had the same face and everything, obviously. Looking down at his hands as Adam got up, Devin shook his head. "I-I don't know. I mean.. if she wanted a baby.. why didn't she have one herself, instead of taking someone elses?" He didn't understand it. "Yeah.. just moved here last week. I.. just wanted to see if you were real... I mean.. I've seen you on tv, now that I've been paying attention.. but.. I can't explain it." He shrugged, taking another drink from his glass. "I would have never found out.. if.." He trailed off, thinking about his disease. "If I.." God.. how did he say it?

Adam honestly just couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that this woman, the one who agreed to be a surrogate for his parents, stole a baby. Stole his brother, his twin from them. And he honestly didn’t know how, after all of these years, Devin had been kept a secret from them all. He didn’t understand it. He had seen the woman a few years back, his family, inviting her over because of how grateful they had been. Which was another thing, his parents were far too busy to have time for a child, so he didn’t really get why they had him. But…he was happy to be alive, even if he did have some problems. “Yeah…if she had no problem being a surrogate and artificially inseminated, then she could have just gotten some donor to make her kid.” He sighed, trying not to feel so damn frustrated. Adam paced for a minute, running his hand methodically through his hair. He looked at him curiously, as he said he had wanted to meet him, to actually see him in person. “I’m glad you came.” And for once, Adam was being genuine, sincere, honest. He didn’t like the thought of going around for his life, having a brother out there. He wondered if it had been hard to get his address, since that was obviously something he left out of the public’s eye. Then again, Devin’s mother….she probably was able to get it nonchalantly from his parents. He was stuck in his head for a minute, before looking down at him, taking a seat in his chair once more. “If you what?” Adam asked, just knowing that whatever it was, it was going to be bad. Oh and…Adam is curious about what happened to him prom night?

Devin wished that his life was easy. That he could have grown up with loving parents, and wouldn't have to worry about the shit that he did now. He wouldn't have to wait until he was in his twenties, to find out that he had a twin, that he'd always had one, and the person who was supposed to be his mother, wasn't. The thought of actually having parents out there, that might love him, was something that Devin couldn't wrap his head around. Sure, he'd come to find his brother, Adam, but he didn't think of how their parents would react. He was scared shit-less, because he didn't know what to do. Devin didn't know what had been going on in his mother's head, or what she expected from all of this. How did she think, that he'd never be able to find out. This was just one big, fucked up mess, because he didn't know what to do. "I wish.. sometimes.. that I wasn't born, because of what she did..." He looked down at his hands. He felt vulnerable, around Adam, but he didn't want to just leave. Adam was different, Devin felt a connection to him, even if he didn't know anything about him. "Thanks.." He whispered. At least he knew that Adam was happy to see him, despite the position that they were in. With Adam's question, Devin looked down at his hands. "I don't want this to seem like I came here, to find you, because of what I'm about to tell you.." He swallowed. "W-When I was fourteen, I found out I was a canidate for Wilson's Disease.." Devin looked up slowly. "It started kicking in a few years ago.."

Adam had a pretty easy life, except for his shitty health do to the prematurity. His parents had plenty of money so he had never struggled, but he didn't get to see them all that often. And then it sort of just got worse, because he had decided to drop out of college and they didn't help him anymore. But, after determination and hard work, he was on top of the world. At least, that's how he felt, knowing that sometimes, well many times, he needed a reminder that his ego was too big. He tried to lighten up, but....it was just hard. He was used to being picked on and looked down on, but now things were so much better. He knew his parents, and more than likely, they'd sue the woman for kidnapping, if anything else. This woman had kidnapped Adam's twin. "You shouldn't think that...you're here now, and that's what matters." And it was, even though it had taken so damn long. Adam wondered, had he not become famous, would they ever have known about each other then? "Did she...treat you well?" Adam asked, having met the woman, several times and she seemed well...Adam always felt uneasy around her. He hoped that she treated him well and not shitty. He never did find out, what had caused the prematurity, but...he was alive so whatever. Adam held his breath, not sure what on earth Devin was going to reveal to him. When he explained it...he looked him over, waiting to see something wrong with him. But he didn't look like he was sick, like sick sick. "I umm...I'm not familiar with that.." Adam admitted, not having ever heard of Wilson's disease, he was pretty sure. Adam had been really sick, but he was sure he didn't have that.
