nix let his eyes slide around in their sockets as he lazily yet skillfully glided down the sidewalk on his board. his head perked up a bit when he managed to catch sight of a nearby railing he so happened to be going by. the males body tensed up slightly as he lowered his body toward the ground before masterfully getting his board into the air and onto the railing while he balanced atop it, grinding for a short time and then going through the air once again and landing on the ground while continuing his undetermined path down the sidewalk. Nixon continued to cruise down the pathway until he glanced to the left in time to spot a pair of eyes fixed on him. he continued to lock eyes with the person, not really putting much effort into recognizing their face if it was possible, and proceeded to stop abruptly and slide out a pack of cigarettes. he kept a blunt gaze fixed on the stranger, all the while lighting his cigarette and going on to smoke. his bright hazy eyes never leaving the face of the onlooker. he didn't know why he was staring, nor did he really care. he was bored with absolutely nothing to do and had the urge to stop and stare at someone who had noticed him skating. he stood there exhaling smoke and inhaling in the usual smoker process. he wondered if this person would have the guts to approach him and if they did approach him, what could they possibly say after such a seemingly uncalled for staring contwould've supposed he would just have to wait and see.

So far, Louise's day had been absolutely ridiculous. After forcing herself out of bed bright and early to do a modelling job that had popped up, it appeared as though she was the last to know that it had been cancelled. Typical. She didn't have a shift at the restaurant either, so that meant that her day was wide open. However, when you were on a tight budget that didn't really mean you could get up to very much at all. Thankfully for her, it was a fairly pleasant day and instead she took to strolling the streets, keys jangling in the her shorts pocket alongside some loose change. And of course, her trusty pack of cigarettes were slotted in the other, because without them she would probably be a lost cause. Rounding the corner and strolling down the sidewalk, the sound of metal on metal attracted her attention over to another bystander, who appeared to be effortlessly skating down a stair rail. Chuckling to herself lightly, she knew that if that was here then she would most definitely be flat on her arse. For some reason, however, all manners appeared to escape Lou and she was fixated on the male, unable to stop herself from staring. Once she realised that he had caught onto this, however, her gaze quickly averted down to her shoes and she mentally slapped herself. Mostly because she looked like dumbass of the year. Moments passed and she dared to glance up again, only to see the male staring at her, unrelenting in his concentration. Frowning, she was trying not to get too worked up about it, but the more he persisted, the most uncomfortable it became. Finally, she slipped her packet of cigarettes out of her pocket, picked one out and sauntered over toward the male. "Lighter?" She asked, almost expectantly, a smirk etching onto her features. "And did your mother never teach you that it's rude to stare?" Louise spoke, English accent overwhelming apparent.

Nixon kept his eyes glued to the blonde who he had managed to catch the initial interest of. she was exquisite and this reason had of course been a part of the whole staring in the first place. but then it was very rare for nix to be fascinated by anything or anyone so seeing as how the day had been all but interesting or eventful he didn't bother to feel any guilt nor discomfort at indulging himself by taking in a mysterious blonde. Nix continued to smoke, slightly furrowing his brows when he noticed the strangers body language. He didnt understand why she seemed to be uncomfortable at being stared at seeing as how he was more than sure he was simply one of many that probably went out of their way to admire her. Nixon continued to watch, averting his gaze only when the end of his cigarette needed to be tapped and the ash sent to the ground. When he managed to look up after performing this action he was hit with the abrupt image of the mysterious blond making her way towards him. Nix didn't smile nor smirked when she attempted to speak to him. He merely slipped his lighter out and offered it to her." Did yours never teach you not to speak to strangers?" he asked, expertly hiding his amusement at the distinct differences between his small town American accent and her own. Nixon examined her face, eying her with his cold and collected features still holding no hint of any emotion." Why do you smoke? Are you one of those girls who smoke with the excuse that you can't help yourself... or is it the unnecessary need to have some sort of vice to make yourself feel interesting." he asked her, no real curiosity but instead a sophisticated cockiness that turned his questions to blunt and incredibly rude judgments. Yup that was Nixon for ya.

Louise could have just kept strolling along the sidewalk as though she had just ignored the last couple of minutes, but she was curious soul and she was intrigued to know what his story was. Coming over to the States had taught her that the only way she was going to meet new people is if she went out and took action for herself, so that was exactly what the girl was going to do. Glancing up at his seemingly expressionless face, she gave him a curt nod of thanks before prising the lighter out of his hand, cigarette between her lips as she lit it and took a brief drag. Exhaling, she listened to him speaking and cocked a brow, willing herself not to laugh at his questions. "You're not a serial killer, are you? Because unless you are, I think I'll be just fine." She replied nonchalantly, her shoulders heaving in a light shrug. In all honesty though, her mother had often been one to harp on and on about just how essential it was to stick with those that you knew, because the world was a cruel place and the people in it were just as bad. Apparently Louise had never been all that good at heeding her advice. Frowning at what he was trying to imply, she took another draw of her cigarette, free hand running through her hair. "I guess I'm just a sucker for peer pressure," she replied sarcastically, eyes rolling at the thought. She had been curious, it was something to try, and hey ho presto, it was something that she enjoyed. "Why do you smoke? Do you use it to make people think that you're some sort of brooding bad boy with a terrible attitude to match?" Louise challenged with an amused smile, head tipping to the right as she stared at the male expectantly.

Nixon was a curious soul himself, only he lacked the seemingly innocent and adventurous charm most people tended to have. The funny thing was he didn't have some sort of sob story to excuse his lack of enthusiasm with different things in his life, he merely felt that the only way to truly experience anything was to rid himself of unnecessary emotions or inhibitions. It may not have made him likable but it certainly worked for him and in the end he only cared for himself anyway. It wasn't too hard for him either, because most of the time nothing really moved him. He was one of those people destined to drink in the world lest he wither away and spiritually die from the lack of happiness or even the smallest bit of interest in the surroundings he chose for himself. Growing up in a small farm town definitely intensified that longing and so that is where he was left without any real satisfaction at anything. Living in Chicago did help some but America was far from the real world and so he still had this horrible attitude about things." Now there's so many different angles to approach that question with. I mean if I was a serial killer, would I say yes and pretend it was a vague attempt at a joke, or would I say no and make you remember how ridiculous it would be to think someone who looked like me would ever be fucked up enough to get satisfaction from ending lives." he went on, pondering for a moment," I think I'll just let time do the work for me. If I kill you, you'll know. If you see another day... well then , I guess there's an answer there too huh blondie." he shrugged while taking another drag. Nix exhaled while she asked him her question and he looked back up into her eyes," I get a sick sexual thrill from anything remotely unhealthy or life threatening." he told her, deliberately taking a slow drag and keeping his eyes on her cat like features. he wasn't being serious of course but it was amusing him.

Her mother and father had always been your traditional, black and white wealthy couple. Manners always came first, and anything less just wasn't acceptable. She supposed that it wasn't entirely their fault though, because they were simply the ideals that had been instilled to them but their parents, and likewise with their parents before. However there was a family gene that Louise had failed to grasp when she came out of the womb and because it that, she had spent her childhood incredibly socially awkward. At eleven years old, books for friends served her just fine, but at nineteen? It tended to get a little old. So did the whole idea of school, and that was her very reasoning for dropping out of college. At least now she was free to venture out of do exactly what she wanted, not that she even knew what that was. It was funny how she had gone from a full ride through medical school to just managing to pay her rent. Life was funny like that, though. "I suppose time sounds like the fairest judge of them all," she replied quickly, fairly confident that she was in no immediate danger with this rather blunt stranger. "Well that explains the skateboarding," she chuckled, lightly tapping the end of her cigarette and watching as the ash gradually floated toward the ground. "So that," she began, indicating towards the cigarette in his hand. "Gets you off? That's kind of sick, almost twisted, really." This conversation was all too amusing to her and she took another drag, exhaling the smoke and sighing lightly.
