Ollie loved his parents and all but it was just hard to be close to them because of their involvement in the mafia. Ha. It was something he tried not to think about and well, he was advised to play stupid anyways. If they were ever caught, well he'd end up going to jail as well. His mother had understood him, about not wanting any part of it and just told him to focus on his schooling. To try and get himself as far away as he could with that business. The only issues he'd had again, was people who didn't exactly like his father. Thankfully, he'd only been hit, not shot or worse. "Yeah..." He said, listening to her then about where to park, waiting for a car to pass before turning in, taking the pass to show the machine that would scan it or whatever. Ollie did live on campus but because of the latest family business run in, he was living with his brother for the time being. It just made him feel safer, especially since he'd been taken after class, on the street, waiting to cross. Sigh. "This is a nice place, I've heard." Ollie said as he found a parking spot, pulling into it.

Santana wished that she'd grown up with loving parents. Wished that she'd been treated with love and respect, but that hadn't happened. She was thankful for her brother though. He'd been her mom, dad, and sibling all in one. He'd been there for her, and their younger siblings even when their parents were off doing their own thing. Honestly, Santana didn't think that her parents deserved to have kids. They sucked at being parents, that was for sure. "It's okay. I'd rather have my own place, honestly." Laine can't remember if I said she lived with anyone, but let's just say she does. Haha. Getting out of the car once it was parked, Santana fixed the hoodie, before closing the door. Pulling her hair out, letting it fall along her shoulders, she waited for Oliver, before moving to the elevator, which would take them down to the lower level, so that she could go across the street to her apartment.

Ollie’s parents cared, definitely, but they had a hard time showing it. Of course his mother had told him plenty of times that she loved him. But, having a family in the mafia, it was tough love. And love in the sense of…if you mess with my family, you’re dead. It was a very brutal thing. Ollie remembered when a boy older than he was picked on him. Well, the same kid about a week later ‘accidentally’ broke his leg and couldn’t play on the baseball team with them. Ollie was suspicious that someone, maybe even his brother, had done it, but he never really tried to think about it. Who knows what had happened. “I live with my brother right now.” Ollie liked it though. He felt safe living with his brother and well, it was an actual apartment not the dorms anymore. He wanted to get his own place and knew he could afford it because of his family but he was trying to live as normal as possible. At the time being, it was more for safety than anything, that he was with his brother. Getting into the elevator, he waited patiently as it got to the ground floor and then held out his arm for her to go first. He could be a gentleman…besides accidentally causing her beer to fall on her. Oops.

Back in high school Santana hadn't really paid much attention to people's lives. Not even the guys or girls that she'd dated and done things with. She hadn't cared if their life was good outside of high school or if it was bad. Maybe that was a bad thing, because her own life had been shit. Maybe she just didn't want to deal with her own problems, so she never listened to anyone else. If she pretended nothing was wrong, then nothing was wrong. Santana didn't know if people were getting abused, or ignored, or whatever else could happen in a teenagers life. She ignored her own life beyond high school. Maybe that's why she'd been fucked up for awhile, but oh well. "Really?" Santana looked over at him. She wasn't sure if she remembered Oliver's brother, but she didn't remember a whole lot of people from school. Giving Oliver a smile as he extended his arm for her, she walked out of the elevator. Getting to the street, she waited for the little white guy on the crosswalk sign, before headed across the street. "This place isn't the best, but it was the only thing I could afford at the time." She shrugged, and opened the door to the apartment building and walked inside.

In high school, Ollie was just a nice guy. A good student and focused mostly on his grades. He then played sports since he had as a kid and that gave him popularity. He never really cared for it though and had to be forced to go to parties. He went but he hardly ever would drink. He just never cared. He was like one of the cool, but nerdy kids. It was weird, but no one was mean to him and so he couldn’t complain. Sure, thinking back, he hated that his girlfriend cheated on him multiple times, but he had been blind to it. He was naïve then and didn’t realize what was happening until after. He was pretty sure she had a kid now but it didn’t bother him. That was her problem. He wouldn’t know what to do if he were to have a kid right now. God. That would suck so much. Plus he’d be nervous about having a baby near his family. Gah. “It doesn’t look bad.” Ollie commented as he glanced around. He had liked living in the dorms but living with his brother in a nice apartment wasn’t bad either. So…she couldn’t really complain that much.

High school was so far away that Santana didn't even want to think about it. It made her feel old, even though it had only been a few years since she'd been in high school, but so what. She'd been reckless and stupid back then and she didn't want to relive any of that time. Sure, it was nice to see Oliver, but their history together wasn't really much. Maybe now that they had run into each other, they could be friends or something. Santana wasn't sure, and she never set something in stone, because people changed, but it would be nice to get to know him again. Santana laughed lightly. "Yeah, it's alright. My roommate is a bit of a slob, but I spend most of my time in my room. I have everything set up in there." She smiled, moving towards her room. "Don't worry, I wont trap you back here." She winked playfully at him, before opening her door. She had a bed off in the corner, and her tv, and surround sound set up. Her desk with her laptop were on the far left side, and she even had enough space for a loveseat looking thing.

Ollie was glad that, apart from a cheating girlfriend that he was in love with, high school had been pretty great. He had had a ton of friends, played Varsity for his favorite sport, and graduated second of his class. Sure, he was a bit annoyed he didn’t get valedictorian but he had been merely .05% away from it. So it had to be very very carefully analyzed. Ollie felt himself feel a little nervous, when she pretty much said they were going into her room. “That’s just what you want me to think.” He smirked before walking in and taking a look at her room. It was nice, ordinary, big since it had a loveseat. He felt like he was seeing too much, like this was a forbidden room or something. That probably sounded a little silly but he couldn’t help it. “I like what you’ve done with the place.” He said, sticking his hands into his jean pockets, walking over towards the small couch, sitting down on it.

Santana was thankful she never dealt with a cheater. Maybe that was because she couldn't keep a boyfriend to save her life back then. Though, it really didn't bother her either. She'd rather keep the ball rolling and date as many people as she could back then. It was sort of like a contest or something with her friends. Santana was head cheerleader, popular, and she was smart, but she doubted she'd ever had the chance at being valedictorian. Not like she'd ever want it either. Back then she was worried about other things anyways. Santana wasn't shy when it came to taking people to her room. No, she didn't do it to have sex with someone. It was just where she spent most of her time, which was why there was a love seat in there. "Maybe.." She winked at him, joking of course. "I figured since I'm going to be here for a few years, I might as well make it look and feel like home." She shrugged, sittind down on her bed. "So, what have you been doing? I can't believe you're still in Chicago of all places."

Oliver hadn’t really dated much if at all after high school. He had met a couple girls in college but they were mostly just flings, more than anything. He never really felt that ‘click’ with someone. That was something he always did. He wanted to feel an instant sort of connection with someone and if it wasn’t there after the second date, he just couldn’t keep going. It was more than just looks for him. He needed to really feel a deeper connection. Call him a hopeless romantic, whatever. He gave her a curious, playful look as he walked past her into her room, before sitting down. “Nothing wrong with that. I just moved out of my dorm into my brother’s apartment to share.” Sure, he wouldn’t mind his own place, or with someone who wasn’t a protective older brother, but he also felt safer with him too. Hopefully no one would be coming after them. Sigh. Ollie thought for a minute, mostly about what he’d actually been doing. “Mostly the college thing….Deciding on if I want to go for a Master’s or just stop after my bachelor’s. You?” Chicago would definitely always be home, though he wondered sometimes what it would be like, living somewhere else.

At one time, Santana had only been with guys for their looks and their popularity. She hated that she'd been that way all those years ago, which really wasn't that many years ago, but it felt like it had been. It felt as though it had been years since she'd graduated high school. Sometimes she did miss the cheer-leading uniform, but where she was at now, playing for the college football players, it was better. In college you didn't have to act popular to please people. Unless you were rich and snobby, but that wasn't Santana anymore. Back in high school, Santana had pretended to be rich. Pretended that she had everything when in reality she barely had anything, but she never wanted anyone to know that, so she'd been a completely different person and still keep her grades up. Which was why she was in college now. She'd gotten those grants and scholarships to get her into college. If she hadn't, she'd be working a shitty job and trying to make ends meet. Sometimes she did find herself going for those hot guys with no brains, but they never did last. "Really? Well.. that's got to be better them living in dorms." She shrugged. Really she didn't have a problem living with a room mate. Sure, she'd rather live by herself, but her roommate wasn't that bad. "I was going to become a lawyer, but.. I think getting a career as a cheerleader for the NFL would be awesome, but... I don't know." She shrugged as she moved over to where he was sitting to sit next to him.

Oliver came from a wealthy family, though he never acted like it. He was fortunate to have opportunities readily available in his life; but he was the type to work for what he has. He obviously wasn’t going to be following his father’s footsteps in the family business. It was dangerous and Ollie wanted nothing to do with it. He even got into college because of scholarships because of his academics, not because his family could afford it. He was sure that the apartment was his brother’s doing, not their family, but he wasn’t positive about that either. He just, wanted a humble life that he was proud of. He hoped that when the day came to have a family, they wouldn’t be pulled into the family drama. He wanted to keep the people he cared about away from all of that. “Yeah…it’s nice not having to listen to my roommate have sex.” He sighed, shaking his head. It was so, so awkward, and many times, Oliver had made sure to know when he was having a girl over, so he would just stay at the library. Or even just go somewhere else for a few hours; at least until they passed out. Ollie smiled at her, raising his eyebrows. “NFL Cheerleader? What team, The Bears?” Hopefully since that was their states team, after all. Oliver had wanted to play baseball professionally but in the long run he decided to just stick with focusing on school instead of following his dream.

Santana was sure that if she had a family like Oliver's that she'd go completely nuts. Sure, her own family was in shambles, but that didn't mean that she hated them. She didn't agree with her parents choices in life, but there was nothing that she could change. She was so thankful that her brother was there for her. Without him, who knows where she'd be right now. Surely not in college, hell, she probably wouldn't have finished high school, let alone anything else. So, she had her brother to thank for keeping her on track. If she ever had kids, there was no way that Santana was going to allow anyone to treat her kids the way she'd been treated when she was younger. She was going to make sure her kids knew that they were loved. It was the best that she could do. Anything was better then how her parents had treated her. Santana couldn't help but to laugh as Oliver spoke. "Oh, I know exactly what you're saying. My room mate doesn't even put a sock on the door or anything." Of course, Santana knew that was mostly what male's did in dorm rooms, but damnit, women should be the same way. "I was thinking about it.. since it's my home state." She shrugged. Who knows if she'd be good enough for that though.

This thread isn't really going anywhere, haha. Ollie did love his parents, he just wished they weren't involved in the things they were. Of course, it was mostly his father and grandfather, and uncles, but it still brought the entire family in. If he was caught, his mother could go to jail for assist. It wasn't fair but it was something they just had to be careful for. Ollie was sure he wouldn't get arrested, probably just questioned but his father had told his sons plenty of times that there would be no way of connecting them to anything. At least he loved them enough to make sure they would avoid trouble. Well, Ollie had been kidnapped because of the family ties but thankfully, his brother had come for him. He had been scared, but not afraid, if that made sense. "Oh man...yeah, Andrew never knew how to give a warning." There had been times where Ollie would go into their small living room and there'd be a naked chick walking through. So awkward. And the girls usually didn't have any dignity and just didn't care. It was weird. "I would cheer you on...and enjoy the games of course." He grinned. Ollie had season tickets and was so excited for the games to start up! Yay for Fall season!

Haha, no.. it's not, maybe we can turn it in another direction or start a new one? Santana loved her father, but she didn't agree with some of the shit that he did. Her brother was more of a parent then their own parents were. If she ever had problems, her brother was the first person that she went to. It had been like that since they were younger. Santana was glad that she'd run into Oliver, even if it meant having a wet t-shirt because of it. If it had been anyone else, she probably would have bitched them out, because that's just the way she was. Plus, having a wet t-shirt around a bunch of dudes just wasn't her thing. Maybe back in high school, but she wasn't like that anymore. "Ew.. people are just so rude sometimes.." She knew that, because, well.. Santana could be rude if she really wanted to. Santana laughed lightly. "You'll probably try and look up my skirt too.." He smirked, giving him a wink. She was just playing of course, but you never know.
