This was all so strange!
For the past two years, Angela had attended Forks High School, her class small and somewhat tight-knit. Now, she was halfway through her first day at Forks Acedemy, a huge and impressive new facility that was getting bigger by the day. It was rediculous how thrown off she was, but her small-town roots would not let her be comfortable in the midst of meeting all of these strangers. How will I handle college, she thought wryly, ducking out of the rush into the library. She set her books down on a table and sighed, reveling in the transition from the clatter of the hallway to the relative silence among the shelves.
Truthfully, she was already a little overwhelmed. Not exactly hating the new school, just intimidated. She would get used to it, she had no doubts about that. It was just not the ideal location for an antisocial bookworm such as herself. She knew that Jessica and Mike had to be in heaven, their social outlook thriving on the new faces. She just wasn't like them.
She was loving the classes, though, for sure. So far each one had been infinitally more interesting than the little Forks High had been able to offer and she was loving the curriculum. She could tell taht this year would be interesting and she was excited for that. Slowly she began to peruse the shelves, running a finger over the bindings. In truth, she was not really here for any reason. It was almost lunchtime, which was sure to be a chatoic time. She just wanted a little peace beforehand.
She paused in her wanderings, her hand on the spine of a thick, red-bound book. Pushing her glasses up, she rubbed her forehead, a small smile on her lips. This was mature, hiding in the library. Just as she was about to turn around and leave, however, she heard the door open behind her. Presumably someone else had entered her sanctuary. Curious, she turned around, wondering who it was.
