Think you know the whole Twilight story? Well, how about shaking things up a little? At Gifts and Curses, we’re going to do just that. Bella, Edward, and all of the Twilight gang have been plunged into an alternate universe in this newly reestablished RPG.

Here they are attending a private prep school in Forks, Washington. Established by Dr. Carlisle Cullen -under the name of Dr. Richard J. Masen, this brand new school is designed to accommodate some of the most brilliant young minds in the world. The school year has just begun, so it’s all about meeting new people and making friends (and rivals) while competing for top academic, athletic and artistic standings.

Little known to the humans at Forks Academy, among them there are some extra gifted students. Vampires and werewolves walk the hallways, blending in with the humans but very much aware of each other. Part of Dr. Cullen’s plan was to encourage cooperation between these groups. His own family of human-friendly vampires makes up a significant portion of the “special” kids at Forks. But another, outside force has jolted the student population. Only the vampires and werewolves know about this dangerous threat.

Mathias Manette, the local ‘bad boy’ in town is viewed as a rogue who just likes to hang around campus. The humans do not think anything of him, other than that he’s bad news, or perhaps that he’s hot (in the case of a number of teenage girls). The vampires and werewolves know better. Mathias is actually a member of the Volturi, the family of unspoken leaders in the vampire world. What Mathias is planning or why he was sent to Forks is unknown, but it could spell trouble for everyone if things get out of hand.

Meanwhile the students of Forks Academy have problems of their own. With competitive scholarships ranging in every subject, sport and art up for grabs, they are working overtime in class and partying hard in between. Life in the luxurious dormitory Houses at Forks is grand, until teenage friendships, fights and hormones get in the way. Or, in Edward Cullen’s case, until a certain brown-eyed clutz shows up.
