It's a brand new record for 1990!! ohmy.gif

I actually used to be a "Giant Head". I've seen TMBG so many times that I can't even count them. They played in Philly a lot and I went nearly every time. They are so much fun. It got to the point where I would get them coffee and they would play whatever songs I wanted them to.

Otherwise, I haven't been to a concert in a while.

I mostly see Tori Amos over and over. She's my hero.

I've seen:

Nirvana (in a high school gymnasium, which was incredible)

Alice In Chains

Pearl Jam

Nine Inch Nails

Tool

Rage Against the Machine

Slayer

Alanis Morisette (she was touring with Tori Amos and she was quite good!)

The Rolling Stones

John Mayer (opened for the Stones)

and back in the 80's:

Poison

Def Leppard

Oh, and when I was in Vegas I saw Tom Jones. That was a blast. There were old lady underpants everywhere!!

Oh yeah, I saw They Might Be Giants. They signed the two cds of theirs that I own (Flood and Factory Showroom).

I saw TMBG too! It was a New Years Eve show! My sister's birthday is December 30th, and that was my present to her that year... they're her favorite band, and it was her first TMBG concert (she was still a teen at the time, this was early '90s). Her last was taking our niece to see them doing their children's songs. Anyway, yeah, that New Year's show was great. I really like them. "Flood" is one of my all-time favorite albums.

That's a great birthday gift! December 30th is my father's birthday (and December 31st is mine) smile.gif I only saw them that once. It was in a record store, I'm pretty sure in the city.

My mother says I saw Johnny Lang with her, so I guess I saw him too (And this would have been when I was a teen, so I have no excuse for not remembering).

I have mainly gone to Christian concerts. I've also attended a few ICTHUS', which is like Woodstock. Here is a list from what I can recall:

Amy Grant - hers was the first concert I attended. It was during her "Heart in Motion" tour...ya know, "Baby Baby..." Now I got that song in my head. duh.gif
Audio Adrenaline
Cece Winans
Church of Rhythm
DC Talk
Jennifer Knapp
Larry Norman - the father of Christian rock
Michael W. Smith
Newsboys
Petra
Pray For Rain
Steven Curtis Chapman
Supertones - a ska band. They had A LOT of energy!
Third Day
The Waiting - First and only time I went to a concert by myself. NOT fun.
WhiteHeart - I've seen this band the most. love-smiley-045.gif

I've been to a lot of crappy local shows over the years.I saw Coheed and A7X back in high school and I remember 18V was supposed to open but they never showed. I went to the Linkin Park tour to see Placebo who were absolutely amazing and totally worth it even if they only played for 30 mins. I'm trying to remember who else I saw, there was the band with the two guys from Orgy in it and then I saw a bit of H.I.M. before we left because we didn't feel like staying to see MCR or Linkin Park, just Placebo which was really all we went for and I'm really glad we did because not too long after that the drummer left the band and I really loved Steve so that was our only chance to see the original band together.

I just remembered another awesome concert when I mentioned him in another thread that I can't believe I overlooked - I was lucky to go see the Brian Setzer Orchestra's Holiday Extravaganza right here in Wilmington at the Grand Opera House a couple of years ago! What an AMAZING show, actually it ranks as one of the best I've seen. All the "cool kids" from Wilmington were there, I saw some friends I hadn't seen in ages... the crowd was a mix of rockers (aging, young, and in-between), older swing fans, families... we got to dress up, and had actual SEATS (posh! wink.gif). In the middle of the show, there was about 20 minutes of non-holiday stripped down oldschool rockabilly, with just guitar, stand-up bass, and snare drum. I don't know which was more awesome, that or the full band doing his versions of Christmas songs. SUCH a great show... if Brian comes to your town, it's worth the ticket price!
