I know it seems like we only talk about vampires around here, but I just had to put this up.
Rachel Caine just put up the cover of her fourth book in the series. This cover has Shane and Claire on it (finally, lol). And as anyone here who has read it will tell you, it is very easy to picture Garrett as Shane. Here's the cover: ![]() I think he's cute and I love his outfit - it looks exactly like something Shane would wear. The whole cover looks great and I can't wait to read it (January 6th!). Here's a link to Rachel Caine's website - http://www.rachelcaine.com/morganville.html. And she also posted chapter one of the new book - http://www.rachelcaine.com/lordofmisrulesample.html Don't worry, Michelle - she made all of this public today -------------------- |

I still say he'd be cuter if he weren't so squinty.

Well, he's doesn't look like Robert Pattinson, so it's already perfect for me, lol. -------------------- |

Yeah, he's kind of growing on me. At first I was thinking...huh? Is that Shane? But I've gotten used to him. He's better than her Michael from Feast of Fools. I like his shirts. Hey, Garrett likes shirts!! I saw that she made it public today. I'm glad. You saw how good (really not good) I am at keeping secrets. It took me about 3 seconds slip. -------------------- ![]() |

I wish I could just send them to you, lol. I am jealous, though, because the British covers glow in the dark. Ours, sadly, do not. Rachel Caine sent my store a box of goodies to hand out at our Breaking Dawn party and she included copies of the British versions. She's really cool. -------------------- |

Perhaps now that you've posted an entire topic to it I'll remember the name of the books when I get to the store. Yeah, right ... who am I kidding??!! If it weren't for my own embarrassment, I would have called you again, Laura, the last time I was at BN. LOL

It's about a girl named Claire who graduates early from high school. She's only 16 and her parents don't want her to go to a college that is far from home until she has a chance to mature a bit more. She reluctantly agrees to go to a college that's not far from home in a town called Morganville. It soon becomes apparent that something is not right in Morganville. It turns out that the town is overrun by vampires and that there is an uneasy truce of sorts between humans and vampires. Claire's life is put into danger, not by the vamps but by the mean girls at school, and she's befriended by a group of three older teens who offer her a place to stay off campus. The three teens are Eve - a goth chick, Michael - a mysterious muscian, and Shane - a slacker who is actually loyal and sweet (and better not ever die, lol). They live in Michael's place - an old house called The Glass House, which has secrets of its own. The books are great - fast paced and exciting. And each one leads directly to the next, so it's like reading a miniseries, which is fun and nerve wracking at the same time. I don't do well with waiting when there's a cliffhanger, lol. There are four books so far: Glass Houses Dead Girl's Dance Midnight Alley Feast Of Fools -------------------- |

I can't help it if that's where the chapters end, lol. Anyway - the Morganville books are nothing like the Anne Rice ones. They're fun and the vampire aspect isn't as serious as what Rice writes. -------------------- |
