Gang of Awesomes Forum Rules
Upon registering at the forums you agree to the following set of rules. Every time you make a post, you renew your commitment to follow the rules and any updates made to them. If you break a rule, you are subjected to any consequences that follow. Consequences can vary anywhere from a PM explaining what you did wrong, to a ban for doing something exceptionally bad. The rules are subject to change at any time and you're expected to know them. We suggest that you check back on the rules periodically to check for changes. Usually when a major change is made in the rules, a forum-wide PM is sent out.
Accounts Only 1 account per person and 1 person per account. Using a second account to avoid an account ban or post suspension will earn an IP ban. The creation of a new account for the sake of a different username or a second 'persona' or other reason not involving punishment avoidance will result in the deletion of the new account and a three week full account suspension of your original account. We expect everyone to use an appropriate username. If you sign up with an inappropriate username, we will change your name for you. You will have 24 hours to respond and ask for a different, more appropriate name. If in 24 hours you do not respond, your username cannot be changed again. Your username can be no longer than fifteen (15) characters long and may not contain anything inappropriate. Please choose a username that you really like, because we do not accept name-change requests. Topics Please make sure you create a thread in the appropriate forum based on their descriptions. If you are unsure where to place your thread, PM an Administrator or Moderator. General Discussion is the forum where anything off-topic can be discussed. This forum, however, does have its limitations; silly, random, and bored threads are not allowed. We have an entire forum for this in the Guest-Hole Please use this thread to discuss anything silly, random, etc. Posting Please make sure you stay on topic in each thread. The thread's topic is explained in the title or the first post of the thread. If you are confused about the topic of a thread, ask the creator in a PM. Use correct grammar to include periods, paragraphs, and capitals. Do not use CAPS, and do not use chat-speak. To avoid getting owned please download this Firefox Add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:3 Spamming Spam is NOT allowed. Spamming is posting off-topic posts, posting more than one post in a row in the same thread, posting using three words or less, etc. Each post must pertain to the subject, add something to the thread, and be written in complete sentences. Bumping, the act of posting the word 'bump' or other meaninglessness in order to bring a topic to the top of the list, is considered spam. Banned Topics The topics of sexuality, religion, and politics are not allowed to be discussed at the forums EXCEPT in the Mature Discussion forum (this includes signatures and avatars). Absolutely no pornography photos or links to photos/websites may be posted. Pornography is defined as nudity depicting genitalia or the female breast. We here at the forums are not responsible for what you or another member posts. We try our hardest to catch people who discuss these topics immediately, but sometimes it takes us a little while. If you see anyone discussing this and we have not caught it, please PM an Administrator or Moderator. Profanity is also not allowed. We are not going to list all the words that are not allowed, but if you do not think it should be said - do not say it. Private Messages Members are expected to follow all rules in Private Messages as they would on the forums. All Private Messages are logged and will be viewed by Administration if any complaints are made or suspicion of rule breaking is present. We also ask that you do not advertise through Private Messages. Respecting Members and Staff Respect is essential to the moderation and maintenance of Inheritance Forums. Members should respect each other and offer no discrimination. Likewise, Administrators and Moderators are given their positions with a great amount of trust. Although you may not agree with their decisions, you must abide by them to ensure a safe and fun environment. Generally, if you try to refrain from posting questionable content and breaking the rules, you will have no problems with staff. If you feel that a Moderator is being unjust, contact an Administrator. Please be aware that Administrators have final say in an issue. Avatars The maximum size for an avatar at the forums is 100 pixels by 100 pixels (100x100). The forum will automatically resize images larger than this. Please make sure that all avatars are appropriate. Nudity, profanity, suggestive images or text, and any material that breaks other forum rules is strictly prohibited from being used in an avatar. If you are caught using an inappropriate avatar, a Moderator and Administrator will remove it without warning. Signatures -You may have ONE signature image. This image may be no larger than 450 pixels (width) by 150 pixels (height). If you're unsure of your signature size, either don't use it or post in the Graphics forum asking for someone to tell you. -We realize that many people like to include "gifts" and "awards" in their signatures. Because of the rule allowing only one signature image, we recommend one of the following: Use an image editing program to combine your "gifts" and "awards" into one image, not exceeding the 400x150 pixel limit or link to your graphics instead, using a format such as: "Gifts: [x][x][x] Awards: [x][x][x]". In this case, you would be linking the Xs. -You may have TWO lines of text. Your text may not be annoying. This includes giant, maxed size lines asking people to click a link so that you can "eat their brain". If your signature does not have an image, it may have 6 lines of REGULAR SIZED TEXT. This rule and its exception count one space between lines (an "enter") as a line of its own. You may not use the largest size font (sizes 5, 6 or 7) for your signature. Use only the default signature font size. You may not type in all capital letters in your signature. -Do not use the quote box ([ quote ][ /quote ]) in your signature. It takes up far too much room. Instead, put any quotes in quotation marks and end it with an em-dash and their username. -You may NOT make false links (such as "Click here to read an early draft of Chapter Four!") which link to outside websites that do not relate to your link, such as "eat your brain". -Any form of religion or political views or statements is NOT allowed in your profile. This includes, but is not limited to, "Copy and paste this into your profile if you love ____", where the blank equals a religious figure or political leader. Warning/Banning/Suspending We reserve the right to warn, ban, or suspend you at any time for breaking any of the above rules. If you are banned, suspended, or warned for an unknown reason, please email gangofawesomes@gmail.com or send a PM to an Administrator. Privacy Policy Please be aware that all actions on this forum are logged, including your IP Address, to keep users from abusing features. Logs will be examined when necessary. Under no circumstances will your information be sold or given to a third-party. Any information you give us will only be used within the forum. We will comply with all legal processes for release of this information to proper authorities in the event that information may be used to prevent illegal activities, fraud, physical harm to any person, and to defend against legal claims, or otherwise required by law. In compliance with COPPA, children under 13 require parental permission to use this website. This precaution is based on the integrity of the child to properly identify their age of under 13 at the time of registration and giving an honest email address for their parent. Updated Rules If rules are updated, it is the responsibility of the user to read the updates and abide by the updates. When the rules are updated, the new set of rules applies for all of the GoA Forums without exceptions for older members who joined before the updates were made. If you do not agree with any updates to rules, it is your right to leave the forums. Otherwise, by staying, you agree to follow all rules. Please follow all of these rules to ensure a safe and fun environment for all forum members. If you have any questions, feel free to email or PM an Administrator or Moderator.
