The PS3

So, I noticed that nothing much has been said about this.

As with most console making companies, Sony has made a console that hardly anyone is buying. This seems to be a trend: Nintendo had the high sales from the NES and N64, but then the Gamecube didn't sell very well. Now they have the Wii, which is still selling out in stores. The PS2 sold extremely well, and the PSP, but the PS3 seems to be a crap shoot. But, if you've noticed, there are probably 20x more ads for the Wii than there are for the PS3; that's because Sony concentrates on multiple kinds of products. So, obviously, Sony will not be going out of business.

Now, my brother and I have purchased a PS3. So far, the only complaint I have is the lack of games for it so far. The use of the six-axis controller proved to be a very interesting feature on Ratchet & Clank and Heavely Sword. On Ratchet & Clank, it's used for the secutity hacker and for free-fall objectives. In Heavenly sword, it's used to direct arrows on sniping missions. We haven't hooked it up to the internet, so I can't tell you anything about that function.

Besides this, buying a PS3 is currently cheaper than an actual Blu Ray player. (At least where I live.) And while blu ray movies are about 10$ more than regular DVD's, there is a noticeable difference in quality.

Also, the more expensive 60 gig and 80 gig consoles have backwards compatability for PS2 games, whereas the 40 gig will only play PS1 and PS3.

So, while the PS3 is worth it's money, the price and game options, compared to the Wii, definitely make the Wii worth buying first. But, if the price ever falls to something affordable, it is still worth getting.

Yeah, the PS3 is a very good system. My limited funds have prevented me from purchasing one, though my dad is very interested in one as a Blu Ray player whenever we get a new TV.

With MGS, Ratchet and Clank, FF, and others- there are already enough games to have me interested, I just can't begin to afford it and have others purchases that take priority.

You can't really use FF as an incentive. It's multiplatform.

I have a PS2, but I don't think I'd get a PS3 unless for Kingdom Hearts 3.

Kingdom hearts is one of the reasons I want a PS2

Well the 360 and PS3 are on equal footing with me right now. I'll pick one of them up after the next generation has started and they're both cheap. I just don't know which one.

Sorry to disapoint you, Auhin, but I believe that the next Kingdom Hearts games are only coming out for DS, PSP, and they're making one for cell phones/mobile devices.
From what I hear, it's not the same game for multiple systems, they're 3 different games. From what I understand, these games are like CoM for kh3. Of course, the actual game will be for the PS3, but it'll be a while. My guess would be somewhere around 2012-ish.

Anyone else seen the full trailer for KH3? My brother spent 2+ hrs. loading it on youtube with our dial-up. It was totally worth it.
