Situation: Rumours have been circulating among Hunters in the South-west about a haunting at William P. Hobby Airport in Houston, Texas; maybe a poltergeist or a dead airman in need of a salt and burn.
The ‘Houston Municipal’ terminal, once a grand 1940s art deco building, had been left to slowly fall into ruin until twelve years ago, when restoration work began. The North Wing was reopened as a museum while fundraising continued for the rest of the reclamation. But since recent work began on the first floor, a series of uncanny and gruesome accidents have befallen the builders, carpenters and electricians. They all involve machinery developing sudden faults; power tools randomly switching on or off at inopportune moments, even a couple of cases of unexplained electrocution.
The Problem: Gremlins. These things have nothing to do with the cutesy Mogwai creatures from the 80s films, they are rare, nasty, scaly little creatures famed for their love of infesting aeroplanes or air hangars and they have been breeding in the museum like cockroaches. Their presence in the building will cause anything mechanical or technological to malfunction. Watches will stop, laptops and phones will fry themselves, tasers will more than likely electrocute you, guns will jam or blow your hand off if you try to shoot. This is a problem when a threatened Gremlin then jumps out and tries to gnaw your face off.
Complications: Edra will be at the museum as she has been hired to capture a breeding pair of Gremlins for a client in San Francisco. She is therefore prepared with tools that have no moving parts (machete, nets, drugged bait etc). Characters don't necessarily have to encounter her but if they do, she can pose as a fellow hunter, watch people's backs and offer tips on how to not get killed (don't forget if the phones and computers fry there's no Google and you can't phone a friend).
Having her own agenda means Edra could pose another hazard though. Anyone who figures out her intention to leave two of these things alive will be faced with Gremlins AND a pissed off shape-shifter if they try to stop her. The outcome of this is up for debate.
Particulars/details: The preference here is for at least one hunter, plus anyone else whose character would have cause to investigate possible poltergeist activity or just be at the location and get dragged into the hunt somehow.
There's no rush here, so if you want to use a character that's a bit busy at the moment, this can always be held in th plotting stages until people are ready
