this was started on facebook Pokemon vs FF I want the opinion of people who I don't know personally.

Pokemon has better stories and characters.

Well, both have their great games. For FF it's 4, 6, CC, and 7 mostly with 10, 10-2, 12, 2 being failures

Meanwhile, Pokemon has the original RBY which were awesome and a few other side games that were good, Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Snap and the like. However, the series dragged on and now we have like 4304934 different pokemon from the starting amount of 150 and most of the side games are just copies of the old ones (See: Pokemon Pinball)

So it's more of a contest of who's shooting themselves in the foot less

I actually like R/S/E Pokemon a ton, so eh.

R/S/E were really good. I also like G/S/C...

I love GSC, but from an RPG perspective, it's shit. Story is half-assed, and I think they added the least new stuff to date.

What with a fair amount of people I know having Pokemon pictures as their defaults on Facebook definitely leads me to believe that Pokemon would beat out FF in a popularity contest from Facebook, no doubt.

both have the crap turn-based gameplay tho -___-
except for some FF's. But pokemon makes up for it with their awesome stadium games, and Hey You Pikachu was hella fun for me as a kid. :)

pokemon and FF were both really awesome, I think I would choose FF overall, although both were incredibly well done.

I would have to pick FF. Pokemon stole some of the best years of my life. If I could have just stopped with the original "trilogy" I would have been fine. But I kept going until the remakes of those. Why, god, why?

And now I find out that level ups had absolutely no random stat ups, it's all based on hidden formulas. And they never told me. I had to find out from a friend. Pokemon betrayed me, so it gets my undying hate. Oh, and by the way, the story was lackluster even if you took it and added Mr. T in a worthwhile way. All of you saying that it has/had a great story must be joking, but just in case, next time you play them, take a good hard look at the dialogue. I have this for proof:

But I would definately have to say Pokemon, seeing as the only FF game I "played" (a.k.a didn't get past a third battle) was tactics.

Simple plot >>> convoluted bullshit

playing pokemon for the plot is doing it wrong

I didn't say FF games had a better plot. BTW the recent games in the series has been bumped up to FF bullshit. Cyrus wanting to become god by capturing two pokemon who are linked to space and time is rather made of WAT.

The older series of Pokemon and the older games of Final Fantasy tend to be a lot better than the new ones.

That is what everyone and their mother says. I've been meaning to play it since I finished 7, I wonder if I'll ever get around to it.
