Hi everyone from here in NZ...The history here is one of many tales....every thing from the early native people ( Maori ) to the European settlers who flowed on through Australia and made a life for themselves and families here. Also the conflicts of the European settlers with the Maori people in the " Maori Wars" where there were great losses of life at the end of a musket.
Some detectorists here are still finding the lead ammunition that was fired in these battles...  Also the gold rushes that brought people from all over the world to strike it rich from everywhere as far as England, Scotland and even America and China. So thats only a small snippit of NZ history, not as vast and long as Australian History but I think certain aspects of Australian history have influenced NZ in theirs.  By the way I am Australian born....my parents took me here when I was a nipper back in '77.  Born in Sydney NSW. |
