So here's a brief summary of my plans for the game.
You'll start off as a civilian where you will get the feeling for both Federation and Zeon mobile suits. This will serve as a tutorial to combat and other game systems. After you complete this you will enlist with either side.

Combat: Most of combat will take place in mobile suits and other vehicles. You'll start with a basic mobile suit and gain access to more as you advance in rank and ability. For players of high rank mobile armor will eventually be made available. Each mobile suit will have a main weapon, secondary weapon, melee, and in some cases a special ability.
Not all combat will take place in mobile suits. I also plan to have various sections of the game where you will have to fight on foot. You will have a wide variety of weapons available to you.

Ships: When you first start the game you will be able take various general use ships to certain mission and combat sites. Once your rank becomes high enough you can purchase your own ship and equip it as you see fit. You will be able to recruit other players to join up with you and will have access to more areas. If two ships of opposing factions encounter eachother in space a battle will most likely follow. All members of the crew will report to their mobile suits and be launched into space for combat. Ships can also have weapons of their own for a price. The winning side will gain a large amount of money and get alot closer to advancing their rank while the losers are sent back to their base for repairs.

Character development: As you level your basic stats such as strength, speed, and accuracy will increase. These determine your effectiveness in combat. These abilities can be held back by an inferior mobile suit forcing you to upgrade.

Series: I plan to include as many series as I can. I'll start off with Mobile Suit Gundam and add various updates to include suits from various subseries and movies like The 8th MS Team and Char's Counterattack. From there I'll move on to Zeta and after that add either Seed or Wing. More series will be added but these are the only ones that I can think of for now.

Those are just some basic ideas and are subject to change. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions to improve on these please let me know.

well so far we already have a host and i'm currently learning to code. If i get a second coder it will go alot faster but right now i'd have to say the most important thing is an iconner

I've been thinking about how to make combat fast paced like the show and here are the ideas i'm playing around with. First off I think that most mobile suits should have thrusters. These will allow you to move sideways, forward and back at high speeds to dodge enemies, close in for melee combat, and evade. Thrusters will also dramatically increase your suits speed. Each suit will have a certain amount of thrust which is continually drained as you use them. When this runs out you will have to wait for it to recharge before you can use it again.

Almost no mobile suit will be able to take a lot of punishment before getting destroyed so smart use of thrusters to dodge will be essential to staying alive.

Great Ideas but i have some qeustions.Will teh series move out as a timeline?.. And maybe for a fast paced combat system a % chance of dieing on hit like the series and depending on your skill and gundam the chance goes up and down.Will there be a permenant death system also?

I'll start the series as a timeline in the beginning going from 0079 to zeta and then chars counterattack most likely. i'll need to think up a way to add the ulternate universe series like seed and wing in. I'll consider the chance of dieing. i doubt i'll add a permanent death system. if i do it will be alot further in production

You could hit two birds with one stone per say, and if a person dies they go to a different universe until they die and when you die you alternate between the universe and a %chance of a different universe on character creation so the universes wont be empty?It would be great for Roleplay purposes and Giving the other stories a chance. Now will these battles in other univereses take place at the time of the series or after?

I'd like to have them take place at the same time so that fans from different series will be able to fight eachother. I would love to see wing or seed fighting against the federation or zeon

I see what you mean, so will you make your own stories for like how the old armies came back and are all battling after the finish of GSD,And if you get defeated a 45% chance of death, because I realise how mad people will get if they contsantly die but I think it would set this game apart into more realsim and staying true to the story, because not all players will be the great superheroes that will heroicly lead the tropps into battle, some will be grunts that get picked off.

Have you considered NPC gundams to aid the players?And maybe if a player dies they get a rename, switched into a different army and a random change in stats so it's like they are a different person?

I'm going to have a lvl system so it would kinda suck to die and loose all of that. I'm thinking of maybe instead of dieing you get captured and will have to fight your way out of a base or wait until you're rescued. I'll probably also add escape pods to some mobile suits to make it harder to capture the pilot. It will probably be a while before we can add any of this in considering we still need a pixel artist before we can start.

Depending on wihich army you pick will you get different stat gains? if so we can make it so if a player dies the stats are the same just blanced and switched to what it would be like if they were in the army tin the first place with a rename and new character and such, that way there is deaths but players may not get mad, sorry to stress this issue it's just a thing I think would be a great feature.

Sorry for the double post, but I was thinking about what you said about the different eras fighting eachother.What chance would the other series stand against Gundam seed I mean coordinaters,phase shift armor faster and smaller mobile suits, SEED etc.

If you're good enough you can take anything down. The Gundams from Wing and Seed will be pretty good but not indestructable. Keep in mind that the Universal Century series has some tricks up its sleeve like newtypes, mobile armors, and some other things that I'm not revealing yet.
