Fuuma, or Windmill shuriken, are the larger counterpart to normal, smaller-sized shuriken*. They are different from smaller shuriken in a number of ways. First, the obvious size difference allows them to inflict far more damage to enemies. The second major difference is in their appearance; like normal shuriken, Fuuma shuriken consist of four sharp edges, but unlike their smaller cousin, their edges are much longer and more defined. The edges are shaped more in the fashion of blades rather than diamond-shaped points. Fuuma shuriken can be caught by opponents, though an enemy usually opts to dodge one rather than attempt to catch it. Fuuma shuriken can be stored by folding the blades into themselves, which decreases their size considerably. This allows Fuuma shuriken to be stored in large backpacks and weapon pouches, though only a few can be carried at a time due to their weight. It takes a great deal of strength to propel a Fuuma shuriken due to its size and weight, but its power is far greater than that of a regular shuriken. If used correctly, a dead-on hit by a Fuuma shuriken to an enemy can be fatal. These shuriken are also known for their common use in certain jutsu techniques, such as the Shadow Shuriken Technique*. Fuuma shuriken have been used by a few characters in the Naruto series including Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Sasuke. Though not as common place as regular shuriken, Fuuma shuriken are useful tools in a ninja's arsenal. They can be purchased in the Weapons Shop. *See Shurikens (small) *See Ninjutsu |
