I have Windows Live Messenger 8.1. Once I updated it to MSN 9.0 (current -new- version that was released this year) and I couldnt see my contact list (it is really weird, I googled it and saw that so many people have the same problem too but there is still no solution for it) that's the why I removed it and re-installed MSN 8.1 but now MSN 8.1 insists on updating/installing MSN 9.0 and this time I can not skip so it doesnt let me sign in! I know the only way is to update but this time I wont be able to see my contact list so I wont use it! do you have any idea? can you help me?

Ive heard quite a few poor things about the new messenger too and there's no more shared folders which is fucking stupid.
Seems now you HAVE to have the new version or no MSN Messenger at all -------------------- |

Wrong. You have alternatives.
There's Trillian or Yahoo Messenger. (Microsoft and Yahoo integrated the ability to talk to MSN/YIM users awhile ago) There's also Pidgin (A linux alternative that also works on Windows and Mac) -------------------- |
