Personality: F’aelen is, and forever will be a self proclaimed eternal optimist. He’s always trying to look on the bright side of things, and tries to keep things light and positive despite the hard times. Even though he sees the bad, he tries to convince himself that they will get through it so that he isn’t another person wearing others down. With a good sense of humour, he is easy to make laugh, and very easy to get along with. He doesn’t judge people that often, and he loves giving others a second, third, or fourth chance to get to know him. Despite the fact that he can be serious around those who desire only serious company, he is nevertheless the friendly neighbourhood fool who only wants to make other people laugh.
If there is one thing that he is, it’s that he is friendly. He’d be more than willing to give someone the shirt off of his back if they needed it, and he wants nothing more than to be around others. He tries to be there when someone needs a shoulder to cry on, and tries to be the open ear that anyone can prattle to. However, for all his good qualities, he’s well known for his flaring temper that can burst at any moment. He feels horrible afterwards, but it still happens.
More often than not, it Is easy to read this man like an open book. He either likes you or he doesn’t, and there are very few in-betweens. It doesn’t mean that someone he doesn’t like he will never like. Quite the contrary… He’ll probably try and find ways to get to know someone better just so he doesn’t have so much negativity in his life. He can be quite childish, and doesn’t have a good pain threshold -- physically or emotionally -- but he tries to hold his own. It’s all that matters.
Appearance: F’aelen is probably most commonly known for his jaggedly cut black hair that is always a mess. There is nothing that screams character more to him than uneven hair scattered in disarray around someone’s head. Of course, one would think that someone with such messy hair dresses in such a messy fashion as well. With F’aelen, this isn’t the case. His clothes always have to be of their best appearance. One would think that even in a war, he would stop taking the time to straighten out his clothes, and press out the wrinkles, but he’d love to counter that and say that it helps him relax. Whatever the true reason, it’s a quirk that he doesn’t seem willing to let go.
A thin man, fragile in appearance, and only 5’7” in height, he isn’t an intimidating guy. His steel-blue-grey eyes are almost always lit up with mirth and filled with a warm glow. A smile is often upon his face, even in bad times. He tries to be an optimist, and give people the feeling that everything will be all right. In his mind, it’s the least that F’aelen could do is show a friendly face every now and again.
History: F’aelen was born in Fort Weyr and stayed a Weyrbrat most of his life. He impressed Lurith at sixteen turns old, and fell madly in love with the dragon. When the war struck, it dampened his mood for a little while, as death and pain aren’t areas that he enjoys. However, he’s been managing, and is determined to try and see the best in this… Because there is a good side to dragon-eating aliens, right?
