ALL HAIL THE KING!
Two months after word of the engagement between Queen Astraea Winterborn and Sven Winterborn hit the streets of Maristheum, it's time for the marriage and coronation that will give Escova a new king to celebrate!

On the agenda:
  • The royal wedding at The Great Temple: An invite-only event for the elite of Escovan society.
  • The parade: A procession from The Great Temple to The Castle of the Crown following the wedding. There will be music, floats, dancers, excitement and general awesomeness. Anyone can watch from the streets or the bordering buildings.
  • The coronation at The Castle: Another invite-only event at the castle.
  • The carnival at Maristheum: There will be a massive celebration throughout Maristheum following the coronation, with the core of the event happening in the marketplace. The carnival will last all through the night and include various games, a tournament, and many entertainers. . . and great food.
  • The mini-carnival at Kyha: Those people who are unable to attend the festivities at Maristheum will have their own fun in Kyha with similar events to celebrate the new king.
Currently:
  • The royal wedding has concluded. The parade following the royalty to The Castle of the Crown will begin shortly. Hopefully everyone hoping to witness the procession has found a good place from which to view it!
  • You may create threads taking place before, during, or after the parade. Carnival information will be available soon!

the parade
Following the marriage of Queen Astraea and Sven Winterborn at the Great Temple, a parade has been arranged to accompany the royalty to the Castle of the Crown. The procession includes entertainers of various kinds (most notably musicians), soldiers (mounted soldiers and footsoldiers), knights, members of Her Majesty's guard, and battlemages. Groups of each of these are to travel before the carriage carrying the royalty (with the exception of those members riding on horseback). Other carriages containing nobles follow the royalty, with guards scattered throughout and additional soldiers forming the tail end of the procession.

The parade takes a fairly direct route to the castle (check the map to get an idea of what that looks like, if you'd like). Access to it will be difficult for many citizens because the route is not particularly long, but there might be plenty of action to witness elsewhere. Your character might be able to get a glimpse of the royalty or of more dramatic happenings nearby.

the coronation
This takes place in the throne room at the Castle of the Crown. The ceremony was scheduled to take place a short time after the parade's conclusion. Members of the nobility have the option to wait in the throne room or in nearby reception halls for the coronation to begin. The coronation involves additional involvement of the High Priest (responsible for channeling the Spirits and essentially offering the support of the temples to the monarchy), the crowning of the new king, and pledges of fealty from the highest lords to the king. A 'small' gathering will follow the coronation for those in attendance (one should not expect the presence of the king and queen).
