Why move?
There are a lot of reasons beyond some spontaneous, sadistic interest in making you guys panic. What we're doing is switching hosts from Invisionfree to Jcink. In doing this, we'll be providing you with additional features, better organization, and more security without changing the basics of how you play. By moving to Jcink, we'll be opening up the opportunity to create subforums within subforums (subforumception), utilize sub-accounts, add custom profile fields and new info alongside posts, create backups of our database (perhaps the most important bit), have collapsible categories, and more! As a player, you'll have more features to enjoy (including a mobile app), switching between accounts will be easier, and you'll be able to get a fresh environment in which to continue the Escova story!

** For anyone who doesn't have experience with Jcink: The actual forum software is nearly identical on your end. You'll encounter a few new features, but I promise nothing will interfere with your ability to keep posting freely.

But what about this place?
This board will remain unchanged. Eventually new registrations will be disabled, but you'll have access to everything. This will function as an archive of sorts for over a year of gameplay and story development while our new home on Jcink will be an active playground for our continuing story, where we'll be able to easily archive portions of our story (if/when necessary) and back-up the content of our forums as we move forward.

What about the threads I'm writing right now?
You'll absolutely be able to finish up threads here. There's no need to rush and no pressure to nix anything you're currently doing. You're welcome to write at both boards simultaneously as you wrap things up here, if necessary. However, if you're just a few posts in and you want to transfer the thread to the new board, go for it!

Guys, I'm still not so sure about this . . .
It's a lot to toss at you at once, but it's not nearly as intimidating as it may seem. Still, if you're feeling a little overwhelmed, message us. Don't be afraid! If you have questions or concerns, we can help you out. Dun's the one with IF-to-Jcink transition know-how, so that may be the person to bombard, but all three of us are open to offering some clarification/answers or addressing your concerns.







But what about the current plots? What is going oooon?!
We're continuing right where we left off-- no time-skipping, no forced overhauling of your plots. The season is still winter. That craziness with black-eyed monsters will continue to develop. Astraea will still be a frigid ice-beast, Zaman will still be a doofus, Galia will still be strangely hot and respectable, Welkin will still be precious, Ari will still be goofy (I hope) . . . You get the idea.

Can we go now? Can we?
Hold your horses, pals. The board's up and ready to go, but please check out this to-do list before you jump in head-first! The board won't be advertised to anyone but the current players for the first day to give you guys a chance to get a head-start on the transition. Please:

• Check out the Rules and Information forum's contents-- There's new stuff there! You could probably benefit from a quick glance at the usual stuff that has been transferred from here, but the subforum in there for Qandyr has all new info that you should read. You don't need to memorize it, and you may not even play in Qandyr, but you should get a feel for the location so you're familiar with this new part of the game.
• Register accounts for the characters you intend to keep playing over at the new board (hopefully all of them!)
• Transfer your applications-- You won't need to wait for approval to begin playing once it's time to go, but we need to have your characters' info on-site! Consider making edits to get those apps up to date. If you do make significant alterations, please let an admin know so we can check 'em out!
• Familiarize yourself with the new board!-- IC forums aren't open for play just yet! Take a day to look around, get to know the environment, and get comfy. If you find any problems/errors/weirdness, definitely let an admin know!
