The smell of the market place was not like back home.

She was used to the smell of fish everywhere, it smelled wonderful mixed with the morning sea breeze. Maristheum smelled terrible, kind of like a bunch of men who hadn’t showed in weeks and then throw in one female who had on way too much perfume. That and the smell of sex, but maybe it was just her.

Emiko was busy studying a fish vender, she assumed it was delivered from Kyra which would make it not as fresh. That’s not what really bugged her, the fish selection was terrible not to mention the quality was poor. Emiko and her father would have caught much better fish, people here would kill to get some of their fish. Perhaps she should show this man a thing or two about fishing!

"Thief!"

Snap. WHAT!

Whirling around she spotted the man who had run past her and Yir Emiko Jaraei hated thieves almost as much as bullies. The Fish and the vender were forgotten, it was time to teach some bratty kid a painful lesson. Sprinting down the road in her dress no less, she attempted to weave in between people to keep up with the thief. She had been doing a good job until a man got right in her way, "Get out of the way"

Too late.

She crashed right into the man practically tackling him to the ground.

He was enjoying a stroll through the market. Okay, so he was tolerating a stroll through the market.

Escova was awful, and nothing about it was enjoyable.

Except for a few of the women, of course.

Speaking of which, Rann was walking and minding his own business when out of nowhere comes a shock of blond hair attached to a little punk holding a fish, dashing through. Rann stepped aside to let him by, because he was not going to get involved in that.

When he turned back to the way he was heading, someone told him to get out of the way, and then he was knocked back, and he just barely managed to stay on his feet.

"Wow. Here I was thinking this was more of a second date sort of thing."

No! He got away!

This would bother her for weeks.

Emiko let her eyes fall to the obsticle that caused her to lose the fish thief, he was handomse...for an annoyance, "Second dates only happen when first dates are enjoyable"

Like when he learns to dive out of the way when shes chasing down a thief!

[Rann Cahell]

He raised an eyebrow. "Are you asking me out? Well that's awfully forward of you..." He smiled to show that he was joking, just in case.

He jerked a thumb in the direction that the blond kid had gone. "Your fish?"

No

She was saying there first date was horrible, pretty bad, considering it never happened. "I don't ask men out, I ask them to commit to marriage thats about it"

Emiko glanced the way the thief got away, "Nope, just thought he needed to be taught a lesson"

The lesson of stealing means dealing.

Dealing with a punch to the face.

He nodded. "Ah," he said, to both points.

"I'm Rann," he said, ignoring her apparent irritation and holding out his hand to be shook.

She did do handshakes.

Real lady’s curtseyed and that’s exactly what she did, when her eyes lifted up she smiled. So her irritation kind of melted away fast...happens.

"Emiko, it's a pleasure to meet you"

Emiko examined his face and posture for a moment.

"Your one of those bad boys that young naive girls flaunt over"

Silly girls who liked to be on the verge of twins, alcohol overdose, and possible slavery to a middle aged balding man.

He couldn't help smiling.

With a shrug, he said, "I'd say that's fairly accurate." Then, because he could, he added, "And you're one of those girls who doesn't really have a filter between her brain and her mouth."

How rude!

Yet completely true, "Runs in the family" as an added thought, "What kind of name is Rahn, reminds me of a frying pan"

Just something that crossed her mind.

His eyebrows came together and a puzzled sort of smile quirked his lips. "I would say, 'I get that all the time', but that would just be a lie."

Good, she didn't like liers.

"I guess that makes me the first" she stated with slight pride, Emiko liked being first at things. "So you coming or not"

Coming as in going with her to track down the thief that he made her lose.

Besides...he owed her a date.

He raised his eyebrow in question, but nodded. "Sure," he said, having no idea what he was agreeing to, but she was pretty, so obviously it was the right decision to make. "Um. Where're we going?"

[Emiko Jaraei]

Oh, he agreed.

Sealed his own fate than, "We're going on our unusal date to find that thief that got away" Emiko smiled before taking his hand and moving forward considering he had already said yes.

This would go smoother, he looked like he was from around here.

Date?

Even though she had said she didn't date? Or maybe she was just trying to be funny?

He couldn't follow. Which obviously made her all the more interesting. He was happily dragged along. "So you know where he went?"

Emiko glanced at him, "No, I was hoping you might since you look like your from around here" If not she would just leave it up too luck.

Justice would prevail in the end or at least her form would.
