[Welkin Njordson]

Welkin sighed and glared at the hole. "I'll go in then. You might have to pull me out."

[Ari Branth]

She wasn't an expert, but he looked bigger than her. "Won't you get stuck?"

[Welkin Njordson]

Welkin stared at her a moment, then cleared his throat. "Well, I'm...narrower than you are. I might be able to go in deeper."

[Ari Branth]

She frowned. "You are?"

[Welkin Njordson]

He half-glared at her. "I don't have breasts or hips that will get me stuck, all right?" He huffed and shrugged out of his uniform tunic. His weapons clattered to the ground around him as he also took of his leather armor. Eventually he only had on his shirt, which was tucked snugly into his trousers.

[Ari Branth]

Oh.

Feeling stupid and beginning to turn red again, she fell silent, picking at imaginary fibers on her skirt.

He positioned himself in front of the hole and wriggled inside. He had to use his elbows to drag himself in, and his legs to push. Unfortunately it was kind of dark in there and he couldn't see once most of him blocked up the light.

He got in past his hips, thanks to being male, and he stopped to carefully grope around in the darkness. His hand landed on a soft, squirming mass. It bit his finger.

His legs kicked out. "Agh! Dammit! It bit me!"

[Ari Branth]

She jumped to her feet, feeling useless, and stood behind him. "Be gentle!" she urged him, circling around his legs worriedly.

[Welkin Njordson]

He grunted. "Tell that to the rabbits."

He wrapped his hand around one of the panicking, squirming creatures and promptly shuffled backwards. It was hard backing out with only one useable hand, but he used his elbows again and reached daylight.

"Ugh." He led up the bunny, struggling to escape, to the girl. "I hope you have something to carry them in. They want to run."

[Ari Branth]

She grabbed the rabbit. "They're just scared. They don't know you," she pointed out, cupping it to her chest. After a moment of struggling, it contented itself with huddling, shaking, against her chest.

[Welkin Njordson]

"And they know you?" He didn't wait for her answer before figuratively diving into the hole again. He could still hear her, sort of, if she spoke.

[Ari Branth]

"I used to feed their mom before I fed all of them," she explained. The baby rabbit was still shaking. She was afraid if she put it down, it would run off, so she held it while carefully picking up the top layer of her skirts and tying them about her wait to create a sort of pouch.

[Welkin Njordson]

Welkin paused in his squirming. "Why? They're rabbits." He scooped another bunny into his hand, one that didn't bite him, and shuffled his way back out.

[Ari Branth]

She put the baby rabbit in her fake pouch, and secured the ties better. It was going to be pretty awkward walking home like this. "Well, I like rabbits. They're cute."+

He half-somersaulted backwards when he emerged, another rabbit clutched gently in his hands. He handed it over to her, raising a brow at the makeshift pocket.

"Yes, but unless you plan to breed and eat them, I'm not sure there's a point to keeping them."
