He looked around. "I think it may be too dark to check on that window, but I can return in the morning, under the light of day," he stated, his head turning to look back at her.

The window was a problem, but nothing terrible. Besides, she wasn't sure she could pay him to fix it tonight. She was usually good with money, but for whatever reason, this month was a little more lean than she liked. She had someone stopping by tomorrow though. With any luck he would pay well.

Tucking her hair behind an ear, she nodded.

“Afternoon would be better,” she said simply.

He gave her a curt nod and headed for the door.

Jace hoped the way back would be not nearly as exciting as their trip.

It was about the best goodbye she could offer.
